Chapter 3: Trial 1

At long last it is finally time for everyone to gather and solve yet another mystery. Ren rallies you all together into the Rose Garden, where Mari and The Witch already are. Mari is just casually standing there. The Witch is seated a few meters away from where you all will be standing. Seems like she will be overlooking this with a cup of tea in her hand.

"Welcome back, my dear guests. I reckon thine investigations have provided some insight? Worry not, for I have not been idling either. If you assist me by finding the guilty party of this mess, then I shall handle this plague accordingly. By all means, begin."

...You get this feeling that you really shouldn't be wrong about this.

Welcome to Trial 1

"Um... I don't know for sure if this is relevant or not, but I'm curious... Who changed the list of assigned rooms? From what I found in the Entrance Hall, Battler, Jafar, and Kyuku all slept in places they weren't originally assigned to!

"More specifically, Kyuku and Jafar were meant to sleep in the F2 bedroom -- the crime scene -- but instead they slept elsewhere and Battler slept there instead... That must be important, right?"

"Quick question. Who was crazy enough to sleep in the Rose Gardens? There was a couple of mattresses left there. Oh and it looks like someone picked a flower from there. Anyone want to confess to that?"

“Oh, Mommy Satan, Mipha, and I slept there. Well, that’s who was meant to sleep there. I saw Mommy Satan when I went to sleep, I didn’t see Mipha.”

"Okay², I know this must sounds suspicious but hear me out first... So, during A6 I decided to head to the Male Guest Room, since that's where I'm supposed to sleep. I was such in a hurry that time, and I thought Battler had already gone inside since I arrived there somewhat late (A6) so I didn't looked around to see if Battler was inside and I just straight up locked the door. And then sometimes later, (time not specified) I heard a knock on the door. Feeling somewhat scared, I asked who's there? But I get nothing except just a sigh. And here's the kicker though, from what I can remember, it doesn't sounds like some one I've ever heard of.

So, to answer your questions Lys, I may or may not, directly or indirectly, caused Battler to sleep somewhere else.

Oops, I mean, Clover.

"Idk anything about crossing. Nor have I encountered any list during my night."

Rudy glances at Clover and Satan in a whatever manner. "You two like to live dangerously. Did either of you take a flower then? Or saw someone who did?"

Jane clears his throat

"While this is being discussed I want to find information on the proposed questions. The first question was how did battler died yes? Well it says that he died of multi-organ failure, do we have any information to add on to that? I personally do not believe I found anything relating to the first question"

"I was asked to enter the Rose Gardens because of its poisonous nature. If the flowers themselves are also poisonous, waiting for an answer on that, then... they could have been used on Battler. Would prefer the autopsy report to come in though. To see if they have a clue for how he died that way."

"I havent been of much use on previous trials but, I want to help with this one. I will add I found medical supplies were missing from the sick bay. There was bed-wetting medication and a laxative however the side effects didnt seem to relate to organ failure. There was also a single syringe, some medical tubes, bandages and first aid supplies for burns. I used some bandages and the first aid though"

"On my way to the rose garden at the end of the night, I happened to walk with Mipha from the top floor, but split off at the middle floor. I can also confirm that she never did come to the rose garden at the end of the night."

She shakes her head. "I didn't take any roses. I don't recall seeing anyone with one during the night either."

"Alright folks, just got out results back from forensic. It reads..."

[The body seems to be in the process of decaying, probably is affected and maybe sped up by the heat in this room. Battler's rotting corpse also gave out a horrible stench. Blood seems to come out from almost any possible orfice, dripping down into the matress below where it has coagulated and partly solidified. There's no blood on any other places.
Battler's face, arms, legs and feet are also notably swollen. The body is hot to the touch, like a kettle, and the skin feels and looks like its sunburnt, but you can tell with certainty that there has been no direct contact with fire (unlike Rudy, who is very much covered in 2nd degree burns).]

1st follow up results:
[His body isn't burnt. But his body is overheated and hot to the touch. Like having a deadly high fever. His clothes on the other hand is normal. Aside from the fluid coming out from his body making the cloth damp and sticky of course.]

2nd follow up results:
[His body have no external injury, as his skin is found intact, thus leaving no mark as such, or resembling any injection mark, scratches, or open wound.]
[His body is positioned as he is lying in his back, facing the ceiling. His expression looks peaceful and calm, which might suggest the victims might not have any inconvenience while he's sleeping.]
[His jaw is wide open though. Whether this has something to due with his organ failure, or just the natural process of decomposition is yet to be determined.]

("This is a personal opinion only, but due to the lack of discomfort expression on his face, and the fact that his body is positioned in a normal sleeping manner, he could've/might've possibly killed in his sleep.)

(Upon reviewing my peers opinion, I've concluded that, there's no possible way that Battler could've died peacefully while he's sleeping. What does this mean? I don't Kumaing! know.)

"In that case, I should go through the storage now. Someone has taken through the night... one armor cleaning kit, four heat poppets, one replica of the Master Key, a big load of party equipment, one writing pen, and a Super Glue Ultra Pow Pow...

"Ahem, I think the most important pieces to note are the heat poppets and the master key. Both definitely sound related to the case."

[Nahema (Yasuraka)]

(Obligatory mobile warning)

"I feel like I should say first that I have been in the Bedroom Battler was found in during the 4th hour of the night (A4). I saw Ren enter and I entered the room after him. I took a blanket with me for... comfort. But I didn't see anyone else there."

Mipha clears her throat.
"I've also seen suspicions raised about the dinner possibly playing a role in this all. I helped Mari with preparation after the night had just started (A1) and I just did as I was told. I didn't see Mari mess with the food either. Pogokuma was with me since the start, but he made some tea for himself. Yoshino and Excel had gotten some ingredients and after they came to deliver them, Yoshino left and Excel stayed. He helped prepping the food as well. Clover had my interest as she was acting suspicious when she entered the kitchen before the delivery people came. So I followed her into the fridge (A2). And I'd like to thank you again for the quick pre-dinner snack, Clover."

"U-uhm going back to what I was saying. Sadly because I was occupied in the fridge with Clover, I didn't really see much besides Mari walking in and out of the kitchen. I assume she was just bringing the food out. But once I went into the Dining Hall (A3) I saw someone enter the Kitchen, I don't know who though, maybe they tampered with the food?"

As if an exclamation point appears above her head, she says:
"Oh, but I did feel kinda strange tonight as the night ended (A6). I've never had it happen before that I fell asleep, I fell asleep in the Master Bedroom while I was doing my ritual to get comfy."
She points towards a book she is holding.

"When I woke up, it was as if I woke up in the middle of a dream. The kind of thing where you're not sure if it's a dream or really happening? I really needed to pee, but it felt like someone was watching me... I didn't wanna get out of the bed because I was scared something would happen to me... I would like to point out I held it in though!"
