AB Game Round 2 - Results & Idle RP

Just as it was last time, the voting booths slide back into the ground and the iPad slides back up into the ceiling. It's true that your vote was already locked in, but seeing it fade out of your vision like that really drives home the point that you need to stick with your choice now, however good or bad it may have been. 

You expect a lull in the action. Some time to eat snacks and prepare yourselves for the results to come, but you're awarded no such luxury. Semi wheels the projector into the room, this time equipped with reels reading "A2" and "B2". They must have switched roles since last time, you think. Demi looks out of breath as he turns the heavy crank and the screen slowly, very slowly, descends down the ceiling to cover the black wall.

You hear a little yelp, and suddenly the screen crashes into the floor. Demi's gone flying over the room as the crank spins itself a hundred times a minute. The two brothers run back over and work together to get it back into the correct position, and the screen's only a little bit damaged! They pen something into their schedule with a sigh, then clear their throats and turn toward the lot of you.



"Ambidex Game!! Library Edition!! The results are in...So let them BEGIN!!"

The projector jumps to life, displaying that classic old-school film countdown that I'm sure you all know. Tensions in the hub are heightened, and you all find yourselves watching with bated breath...

"Heeheehee... WOW! Looks like the Duos REALLY had a bone to pick with the Trios! I'm proud of you, guys! Finally, a little bit of DRAMA!"

[Vulpix]

After seeing the results, Rocky grimaces.

"Hah, I should've expected Punk-02 to pick betray."

"My fault for not knowing the girl who stabbed me wouldn't have our backs here, right Pardner?"

Phantom Arm seems entirely disinterested in the results. Instead, he hovers somewhere near Defective, almost trying to hide behind him.

[Nekomaru]

"I'm truly sorry, Novella... I know as we put Voivode into the door, you were also putting your trust in me."


"But I seriously hope this will put things in perspective. You get it now, right? I trust that you all get it. Please tell me you all understand. It's important to me, that you know why this happened." 


"If you aren't going to help in the dioramas... Go to the Grey Door."

[Sachi]

"Kaerun...! You've made all my work for nothing! I'm back at one point, same position I was in last round! I'm a sneeze away from death! What were you thinking?! What do you even have to gain from..."


"No... Don't tell me... You perfected the Blue Door...? That would make your current total..."

[Ktoasty]

”What in RANTARNATION?”

Pardner calls out to the wardens.

”Demi, Semi! Somethin’s wrong with the Cyan Duo’s ally button.”

Defective shields Phantom Arm from the presumably icy glares of his green door teammates. This is not the outcome he wanted, but it was a necessary evil nonetheless.

I dare say the blame lies squarely on my shoulders. Phantom Arm and I came to a consensus that this was the likely outcome. With our poor performance in the Green Door, we weren't in a position to...take chances.

He grimaces, rubbing his hands together.

I do hope there's no hard feelings. Psychic...you are truly a man to admire. Your reasoning and eye for the smaller details is tantamount to none. I am truly sorry.

But Demi, Semi, I need to know...How long do we have until this game is over? Does it just go on endlessly until we either pass or fail? Or is there a time limit of sorts? With the state of our relations, I dare say betraying is unlikely to succeed again.

Trigger gazes almost vacantly at the results for a bit before saying "So where does that put us? Also, if you reach the necessary points do you HAVE to leave or can you wait for the rest of us?" She does not seem bothered by the betrayal, at least outwardly

Unfamiliar symbols appear on your bracelets. Gone are the colours that once adorned them - instead replaced by simple, monochromatic displays. They display your point total, as well as a letter, or in the case of three unfortunate souls, nothing at all.

Demi clears his throat.


"I have an announcement to make! Not one, but THREE of you have reached the coveted NINE POINTS! Congratulations to... Exvy, Kaerun and..." Demi checks his notes and raises an eyebrow. "...Voivode? That lucky bugger... Anyway! Whenever one of these three proclaims the words, "I claim victory"... The game is over! If you want to keep going for a high score, why, it's up to you, but for now, the choice is yours!"



"Now then! In the case that they decide not to leave, here's the pairings for Round 3!"

Psychic looks absolutely pissed off.

"You... you asshole. I did two dioramas with you, and both times, you did absolutely nothing but sit on your ass and let me and Punk-02/Virgilia carry you. And then to top it off you betray us and take points away from the people who did the work and found the evidence so that you can just copy off our answers and live. I'll die before I put an ounce of trust in you ever again. After all, what was it you said before the first AB Game? Oh, that's right, I wrote it down."

He pulls out a piece of paper, clears his throat, and starts to read:

"'Nobody would ever want to go into a room with you, as playing against you would be a net loss. Unless they played perfectly, gaining points would be impossible. It would only prolong their suffering here. I certainly would never associate with you again, and even if I was forced to be paired up with you, I'd betray you again and again. Else you'd steal from me again.

One small slip, one greedy grab for power...and you'd have nothing. You'd be lower than dirt my dear friends. Quite simply, it would be the worst mistake you could ever make.'

That's what you said, isn't it?"

"Ah ah ah! Vonderful gambit, Kaerun! You played the part of the detective, and I the dunce. I mean, Dracula? Vhat-" Voivode clears his throat, "What kind of person believes that? But it's so absurd that nobody would ever question it. I'm telling you, you and I are going places."

"Christ, I need a drink. And some new clothes. Dracula. How did I ever get away with this? Whatever." With a dramatic flourish, Voivode tosses his cloak aside.

"As the greatest detective in this room, I claim victory."
