Questions for all Deaths
1. How many culprits are related to the deaths at hand? Which deaths are these people connected to and how?
Answer: Considering the overlap in materials, there were two culprits. Satorae bbq Contract while Onion strangled Pup and then committedupsidedown sudoku took an arrow to the knee chest.
Result: 3/11
Contract was killed by Satorae in cooperation with Rebecca, making them accomplices.
Pup was killed by Rebecca in cooperation with Satorae.
Master Onion was killed by The Brickster alone with no help.
2. What is ultimately the cause of death for each victim? If a weapon or tool was involved, what was it? (Example: Knife stabbed Ven’s heart </3)
Answer: With the lack of blood spray from the stab, Pup was likely strangled to death. Contract died to fire started by something like a molotov. Onion died to a crossbow bolt in the chest.
Result: 3/8
Contract: Poisoning through Carbon Monoxide (From fire fumes) and Carbon Dioxide (From dry ice). (Technically died by fire, yes. But you fail to point out any details, such as smoke. I deduct 4 points for this. This was the most complex way someone has died this trial and therefore the most difficult.)
Pup: Asphyxiation from being strangled by a piano wire (I deduct a point for not pointing out the weapon.)
Master Onion: Being shot in the chest by a crossbow bolt (This one is so easy, it's only worth 1 point. But you got it!)
3. In which order did the victims die? When did their deaths happen?
Answer: Contract and Pup died A4. Pup left the room immediately and met his demise as after entering the ballroom, so he was the first death. Contract was delayed by everyone bumping into each other, so it took him longer to get to the guesthouse. Contract Onion died A6.
Result: 2/5
Contract (A4) -> Pup (A4) -> Master Onion (A6) (Umm, how are you saying Contract died both A4 but also A6? I am deducting 3 points for inaccuracy and potential of wrong answer. Had this not been Madness, I would have been more lenient, sorry~!)
4. In which room/area did each victim die?
Answer: Pup died in the ballroom. Contract died in the guesthouse. Onion died in the grand hall.
Result: 4/4
5. How many fires were started this night and how were they all started? Were any of them related to the case at hand? When did the fire start?
Answer: Tamaki started three fires, with five total among the playerbase. One to ignite the whip at the furnace A4, the second with the paints in the drawing room A5, and the third by spreading flaming paint around while dancing in the grand hall A6. Brickster started one by burning the pasta and throwing it into the pantry A5. Satorae started the last by burning down the guesthouse during A4. The guesthouse fire was the only one realted to the case.
Result: 5/10
(Okay this one is a VERY MEAN ONE AND BY FAR ONE OF THE MOST DIFFICULT QUESTIONS! In terms with Tamaki, we have decided to combine all her shenanigans into one, as she was not the culprit and therefore had the least importance in making fires. Her fires were also the easiest to determine, so I will just go ahead and give you the full 1 point for her shenanigans. She did share the same braincell as all the murderers though kekw.)
- Fire 1(A4): The killer (Satorae) dumped charcoal into the fireplace and spread cooking oil around, which was then lit with a match in the Guesthouse. This is related to the murder of Contract. (I would have liked the mention of Contract here + detail in how Satorae started this fire and why. You get half points for this.)
- Fire 2 (A5): Tamaki decided to have some fun with a homemade, burning whip and some paint. Started in the Drawing Room. This is unrelated to any murder case.
- Fire 3 (A5): A Pantry fire caused by burnt spaghetti. This fire is unrelated to murder, but related to the case at hand, as this fire was used to create an alibi for our culprit Brickster. (I will be lenient and give you full points here. This is technically related to the case if you squint, but this is not directly relevant to any murder.)
- Fire 4 (A6): A dust explosion, using flour and the candlestick caused by the killer (Rebecca). This is done in the Main Gardens. This is related to the murder of Pup, and was used as a way to destroy evidence. (You seem to have missed this one.)
6. Identify all the red herrings of this trial.
Answer: The spear wound on Pup is a red herring to draw attention from the fishing lines. The almond milk is there to make it seem like Contract was poisoned with cyanide.
Result: 5/8
Rebecca kill: Correct, BUT the blood was also not congealed due to blood thinning tablets. -1 point.
Satorae kill: Powdered Nightshade and the vial with almond milk were red herrings to confuse the true cause of death. (I deduct 1 point for missing the nightshade.)
Brickster kill: Erget murdering for the actual culprit is a whole red herring on it's own.
7. What evidence was destroyed this night? How was it destroyed?
Answer: Rope and climbing gear was used to get on the guesthouse roof, which was then discarded in the fireplace with the rest of the flammables. This accounts for the metal item and possibly a material. The plastic and glass were something along the lines of a molotov and lighter. The last material item is likely a wooden weapon like an axe from the shed.
Result: 2/6
Grappling hook (I guess you call that climbing gear..?), gloves, sack used to hold the dry ice and piano strings were all destroyed by fire. The vial holding the powdered nightshade was smashed. A fire also burned Contract’s face which concealed evidence of frostbite caused by the dry ice.
(Another big meanie! The dry ice did not do anyone any favors, not even the killer! So I will be lenient with this one. The rest get a standard deduction. The piano strings is difficult to point out, but it is also a major part of the murder plan.)
8. Were any abilities used by the culprit(s)? Attempt to discern how (Bonus).
Answer: Onion or his accomplice had the ability to sneak around without anyone noticing, thus explaining how they placed the note before Maison and held a knife to his throat without being noticed.
Result: BONUS 2 POINTS!
Rebecca used her ability to change Pup's cause of death during investigation.
The Brickster has passive invisibility up, when around 2 or more people. He still leaves behind evidence when sneaking. He relied heavily on this when building the trap. This is also how he saw Satorae A1 and held a knife to Egret's neck.
Satorae did not use any skills.
Pup Related Questions:
9. How was Pup attacked? Describe the process of the murder.
Answer: Pup ran into a fishing wire set up as a trap in the ballroom and he managed to get strangled by it. The killer then stuffed him in a barrel and then went into the vestibule. The killer placed Pup down and then stabbed him with a spear. Proceeded to create an explosion trap by adding a healthy dose of flour with charcoal around the room, bits of nails at the courtyard-entrance door to create friction when opened that would go boom!
Then the murderous fiend blocked the entrance into the hallway with a barrel and put a spear in front of the other door. To then escape by vaulting a window to the outside.
Result: 1/3
Quite close! First part is correct, except Pup was strangled with Piano Strings. Not Fishing Wire. This was also an assault, not a trap. After stabbing Pup, he was raised in the air using piano strings. The piano strings were hanging on losely hammered nails. Charcoal did not actually cause the fire. It wasn't a hot piece of charcoal! They just needed a little bit of open fire from something a simple as matches. The fire is relevant to Question 10. (I deduct 2 points for missing the piano strings and calling this a trap, rather than a direct assault, alongside other details.)
10. Why did Pup's body 'appear' out of thin air?
Answer: Pup was carried to the vestibule by sneaking around the main gardens and courtyard, as Sonia was watching the hallway. The explosive locked room was set up and they sneaked back into the ballroom along the same path.
Result: 0/3
Pup's body was suspended by piano strings that were burned in the explosion. The fire melted said strings, causing Pup to fall down.
11. What is the purpose of the barrel?
Answer: The barrel blocks the door to the main hall creating the illusion of a locked room.
Result: 1/3
Moving the body, moving the flour, blocking the door.
12. What is an important piece of evidence found in the Vestibule? Where did it come from? How was it used? What happened to it?
Answer: The spears are important as reveal where Pup died and the amount of blood indicates that he had been strangled to death. It came from the ballroom and was used to stab Pup post mortem. The spear was left in the vestibule as a red herring.
Result:0/6
Charcoal was retrieved from the furnace in the Furnace room by Rebecca and was used to hammer in the nails, used for the murder of Pup. Rebecca gave the charcoal to Satorae, who disposed of it during the murder of Contract, by throwing it in the fireplace of Guestroom. (This is yet another meanie, as this piece of evidence is the only one that could directly reveal any accompliceship between Rebecca and Satorae. The charcoal was an important tool for one, and something the other had to dispose. Spear is but a red herring and had no actual importance.)
13. If this is a locked room murder, how did the killer escape the room?
Answer: The killer escaped out the window.
Result: 2/3
By making the most of the explosion, they escaped through the window, and used the piano strings to lock the window. (I deduct 1 point for failing to mention our dear, tragic piano strings)
Contract Specific Questions:
14. How was Contract attacked? Describe the process of the murder.
Answer: Contract was knocked unconscious with a blow to the head. The culprit escaped out the chimney and dropped all their tools down said chimney to start the fire and get rid of evidence. Contract died in the fire.
Result: 2/5
He was attacked and knocked out from behind with a fireplace poker. He had a cyanide concoction poured down his throat. However what inevitably killed him was dry ice being placed on his face, and the fire being set, which caused carbon monoxide and dioxide poisoning. (I will deduct points for not mentioning the fireplace poker and the red herrings used for this murder. Once again, I will be more lenient about the dry ice, as it wasn't actually necessary in this murder. I did not really ask for the escape part. This is more for question 16, but I will not deduct for extra info. You just don't get anything from it.)
15. What items/materials were involved in this murder? Where did they come from?
Answer: The items involved in this murder are rope and climbing gear, something like a molotov and lighter, and a wooden weapon like the axe. These were obtained from the garden shed and the kitchen.
Result: 1/6
Items: Grappling Hook (I note this as climbing gear, don't worry.), Cloth gloves, nightshade leaves, mortar and pestle, sodastream machine, match (firestarter), cooking oil, 2 empty vials, almond milk, small sack, fireplace poker, chair.
Locations: Garden Shed, Main Garden, Kitchen, Guesthouse (Furnace - Rebecca)
(The famed Satorae axe does not exist im afraid. There's a mess of bunch of destroyed evidence however. Due to not even the red herrings not being mentioned, I cannot give many points here.)
16. If this is a locked room murder, how did the killer escape the room?
Answer: The killer escaped up the chimney with climbing equipment.
Result: 5/5 (Its technically using grappling hook + trees outside, but eh. Good enough.)
Master Onion Specific Questions:
17. How was Master Onion attacked? Describe the process of the murder.
Answer: Onion set up the crossbows and slipped Maison the note at the food table. Onion briefly held a knife to Maison's throat, but slipped away when Maison started looking around. In an attempt to get rid of evidence on his person, Onion hid the knife. Maison decided to take aim at Sonia, but Onion got in the way of the shot and died.
Result: 1/3
The killer (Brickster) set up a hidden crossbow in the window, which had a fishing wire attached to the firing mechniasm of the crossbow. This one aimed at Egret. The second crossbow was not trapped, but loaded and given to Egret with the threatening note. If Egret refused to kill Brickster would have pulled the fishing wire crossbow. Once the killer noticed Egret was following the note, the killer let go of the fishing wire and escaped. (You guys had the person wrong, but then again, I did not ask for WHO did it here. We are both referring to 'killer' so I will let this one slip. I deduct 2 points for not even mentioning this beautiful mastermind trap plan set up by our true killer. This murder is more complex than just 'host made person follow the plan'. Egret chose to follow the note without any host influence.)
18. What items/materials were involved in this murder? Where did they come from?
Answer: The two crossbows and fishing line come from the garden shed. Paper comes from the store house. The pen comes from the drawing room.
Result: 4/5
Items: 2 Crossbows, Fishing Line, Soil Sack, Sharp Knife, Paper, (Pen used but left behind)
Locations: Gardener’s Shed, Kitchen, Steward’s Office (You missed relatively minor things... except the knife. Knife was kind of important. I deduct 1 point in total from this.)
19. Who delivered this killing blow? Why?
Answer: Egret was coerced into shooting someone. Egret found a threatening note and was instructed that they must shoot someone within 5 seconds or become the victim.
Result: 2/2
20. Who was supposed to be the original victim? What happened for the circumstances to change?
Answer: Onion decided to follow the old adage of dead men tell no tales and take the bolt aimed at Sonia.
Result: 0/4
Egret was aiming for Sonia! The real blackened could not care less who they got, as stated per note. Master Onion had a personal skill that let them protect a person of their choice for 2 consequtive actions. Within that skill, if someone he was protecting was about to die, he could WILLINGLY CHOOSE to die for them. Master Onion willingly traded his life for Sonia's. What a hero.
