Mini 87: A Herb Afloat

[Tetsu]

As you all gathered around the Old Well, you see something floating when suddenly the whole room turned bright! Now, much clearer you noticed a body was in the well! Garry climbed down and tie a rope he found near the well and with the help of everyone, you were able to pull it out.

Oh no..it was a dead Her- I mean Basil is dead?! Then suddenly you all hear an angry roar coming from everywhere in the Old Well. "Alright! Who decided to ruin my tea PARTY? Everyone leaves the Foyer and I want to SEE ALL OF YOU OUTSIDE!"

As you all leave the body and file out to the designated area. Once you're outside, you noticed a woman dressed in black or you think it is since their face was covered and was holding a doll sitting in front of you. There seem to chair enough to fit all of you in a circle.

  

"Now that you're all here..." You all notice that the doll is the one speaking. "One of you shall pay for your crimes, so FIND OUT WHO THAT IS AND LET ME KNOW!"

{Body}Basil has a bruised nose and scratched palms and knees. He also has broken a few misplaced bones namely on the ankle and arm. Round his neck you see a tubular-like shape with lines beginning to form. You also see he seems to be missing one shoe.

{Basil's Camera}You all now have access to Basil's loving camera, wonder what it contains?
2:00pm: A group photo taken in front of the Foyer when everyone first arrived is found.
2:30pm : An Image of the Fireplace Crackling was captured

{Foyer}Vases has been shattered around the area and was not cleaned up. There seems to be a red petal near the bottom of the Foyer stairs.

{Living Room}This place seemed to have been vandalized with a big graffiti that says "THE BOOGIE WUZ HERE!" and then there's a long thick red line that is drawn around the room and pass the fireplace. A tipped-over can of red paint is splashed over the front of the fireplace. Some cookies and cups have been set on the coffee table as well.

{Spoiler}The bed has been slept in. A box of assortment of bows has been dropped on the floor. The Room seems to have gone through a whirlwind of some sort, with things broken on the floor.

{Study Room} A broken projector is found in this room, with a bent club. You also see the computer is used to search fanart of the....Boogieman, jeez who would want that? Also you see two books on of the book is set on the desk with title "Being From a Different World: Perspective of a Slime" and an open book was seen on the couch named "How *NOT* to be A Devil For Dummies". Upon looking at the bookcase, you notice that there seem to be a few books missing from it's spot.

{Kitchen} The place smell divine despite it seems like a bunch of people has been stuffing themselves. A lot of the food has been eaten and empty plates and cups where left where it was.

{Bedroom}The whole place seemed to have undergone a make over but not a good one. You can see the door is blown off, the bed is now in spliter, the wardrobe that it was once is nothing but wood scrap now. But you see a very red leathery dress and a pair of red horn headband survived.

{Storage Room}The place has most of its stuff on the ground. You noticed there's quite a few things missing from here but unsure what it was, it seemed there is nothing to note what was inside this storage space. Weird. Items Taken As Follows:-
- A can of paint
- Ammonium Nitrate

- Police Tape
- Helmet
- Rubber Pellets
- Slingbag

{Medicine Room}The place has most of it's cabinet zip-tied. Also another thing to note is that this place smells like....Lavender? Oh reminds me of that song, but yeah the only cabinets that is left unzipped is those that has no lethal usage. Right the door from the Doll Workshop side is not missing 1/3 of it's wood where the doorknob should have been.

{Doll Workshop}This place is wrecked, literally. There were broken dolls littered everywhere on the floor. However on the workbench in the middle of the room you noticed two dolls which has been pieced back together a cute one and a ninja-esque one. Near it seems to be a few tubes of glue that has been used.

{ Old Well}This place smells damp and old and feel stagnant in terms of water. You notice there seems to be a trail leading to the well, seems dragged but can't be sure since now there's a lot of footprints. You also notice that the door facing the Well side has scratches on it.

{ Basement Stairs}There seems to be a very sticky residue left on the stairs and it's kinda pungent yet flowery??? Also at the bottom of the stairs you notice one shoe in the corner of the landing and some broken porcelain as well.

{ Visitor's Condition}Mary: Looks distraught and her hair is disheveled while being held by Mary
Boogie Man: He looks menacing as ever and creepy with his smile.
Duolingo: It seems to be holding a sling bag and speaking in weird language
Garry: There seems to be some brown stain on his sleeves and he looks uneasy
Frigi: You see a hard helmet on his head and he seems to be holding a gun
Basil : Dead as a doornail...I guess?
Ib: Is holding onto Mary tightly
Kayo: She looks like shes no longer with you guys...dang something must have scared her.
Lucie : She seems to be playing with her now braided hair
Serena: She looks at everyone while holding onto Lucie

{ Rose's Condition}Ib's red rose is missing its petals
Mary's yellow rose has some petals darkened than the others
Garry's blue rose is missing some of its petals
BoogieMan's brown rose seems to not have changed except it seems crumpled
Duolingo's green rose is now flat and crumpled
Frigi's violet rose has lost a few petals
Serena's pink rose is still the same as it was
Kayo's maroon rose is missing a few of its petals
Lucia's black rose seems to be stuck together tightly
Basil's rose, you found it inside the well. The pink has been stained with rusty color.

{Mysterious Substance}It smells Pungent yet has a flowery after smell. It was lavender.

{Under the Shoe}There is a sticky glint under one of the shoes which is the one near the basement stairs

"Well well well," the Boogie Man said, "thrown to the bottom, just like a stone." 

The Boogie Man placed his hand, all sharp and knifey, over the place a heart would be on a normal guy. 

"Just a question for you all... do you think the afterlife is a lonely place? Depending on your answer... Well, I wonder how poor Basil is feeling right about now?"

With surprising dexterity, considering the state of those weird finger things, he picked up the camera that Basil was using.

"I wonder if this still works...? I'd love to get a copy of the photo he took this morning - something to remember this wonderful day by. Yes, I think I'd have the perfect place for it..."

[Misaki]

"Basil is just sleeping right...? I'm sure he'll wake up at some point..."

Poor girl. Her young mind doesn't seem to comprehend the concept of death...

Ib looked away from Mary and didn't utter a word. She seemed rather uncomfortable with Mary for some reason...

Garry is not okay and he keeps looking at the talking doll and then back at his feet with a terrified "Ah, that makes a ton of sense" kind of look.

"The dolls... the projector... the knife... the explosion... and now this... yeah that adds up. We must be in Hell."

Garry shakes his head and looks to check on the younger ones before narrowing his eyes at Mary. "I don't think you did this, Mary, but you should know that if we don't solve this someone may try to hurt Ib anyway. It'll be hard to defend Ib when you don't know who the enemy is, especially since you couldn't even beat me. Let's... let's set our differences aside and put our heads together, okay?" He shivers a bit and one hand traces a cut on the other.

"We all picked up roses at the start. What is the state of everyone's flowers? It might not be helpful but it doesn't hurt to know."

"Also at the start of the night, right as we were taking a picture, I heard a strange noise. Anyone know the source?"

But well, I guess it wouldn't hurt to outline my night. 

First, I arrived with my sister and you all were there too. We took a picture with that dead kid, I'm sure you all recall. I heard a noise too, but I don't really care what it was, I'm pretty sure it had nothing to do with Ib. 

Next, Ib and I went with the dead kid into the Living Room. The fireplace made the room nice and cozy, and there were biscuits too! Ib and I ate some biscuits and had a nice chat! Every day is a good one spent with my dear sister! Oh, and the dead kid was taking pictures or something. 

After that, Ib and I went to look for Garry. For some reason she was worried about him... It's really not fair that she is thinking about him when she has me! But I didn't want to leave her alone, so I went along even though he doesn't really matter to me. We went into the hallway, and that led to the Basement. Past the Storage Door I saw Frigi heading the way we came. Finally we ended up at the Doll Workshop.  Everything there was so cute! The two creepy men and the bird were there, too. Garry seemed scared, for some reason, even with all the cute dolls! Grownups are so weird. Now that we found him, though, there was no reason to stay with him any longer! So I pulled Ib with me to the side corridor. The creepy man in the mask followed us. 
We went down until we reached The Well. Being there with the creep was a bit scary, so I grabbed Ib by the arm again and we were off.  Before we got back to the door I caught noise of something upstairs. 



Then when we got back to the Doll Workshop and the place was trashed! Garry was pounding on the door, like a madman. I pushed him away and opened the door. It wasn't even locked! What a useless adult. He ran off, leaving the rest of us behind. The bird looked sad and the bag head just shrugged. Ib looked worried, but I reassured her that he was simply worthless as an adult so we had no use for him anyways. I got kind of annoyed that she didn't seem very convinced, so I ran off on my own to the Medicine Room. It was locked, though, so I just went to the Kitchen instead. On my way I saw Ib, the Boogieman, and Frigi standing outside the Storage Room door. Oh, and I heard sobbing coming from the Study, but it certainly wasn't Ib so I didn't really care. I simply moved past it!


When I got to the kitchen, the first thing I noticed was the yummy smell! Boy was I hungry! But then I noticed how dirty it was. There was food all over the floor! I was really, really hungry though. So despite the mess, I grabbed some yummy chicken sliders and a Sprite™! With my tummy full, my mind began to fill too. 

Why is my sister, mine, not his, thinking about someone else so much!! I knew something had to be done. I grabbed a knife, filled with determination. I don't know who it was, but someone was encouraging me. It didn't matter though, I had a mission!

Following that, I quickly ran to find Garry. I didn't have to look far, he was right in the study. I asked him to follow me to the Guest Room, and he did. Kayo followed us, diverging before we reached the room to enter the hallway. While we went up, Basil walked down with a limp. Maybe he was already half dead! 
Finally alone in the Guest Room, I was free to vent my frustrations to the nuisance. I loudly screamed how useless he was, and swung my knife at him. Now, before judging me, do recall that he is trying to take my sister from me! I was only able to get his hand, though. 

After a bit more swinging, the door suddenly flung open. Kayo entered, with Ib! She dropped a box, and the screamed at me, for some reason! I'm just protecting our relationship!!! She took away my knife, but only because I was caught off guard by a sudden explosion. Kayo was knocked away, but Garry protected Ib and I. 

Well, I guess he was good for something after all. 

Finally the shaking stopped so the three of us were able to exit the room. Kayo stayed sitting by the doorway, but we headed to the Foyer. Today was a lot, and I really just wanted to go see my mom. But, like the rest of you must have noticed, the door was locked! We played a little iSpy, and Ib somehow won every round. I have the SMARTEST sister! Serena came in after awhile and asked us to gather at the Well, before running off. And, well, here we are!

[Vaellin the Bard]

Since he encouraged Mary to speak and she immediately did, Garry felt he should follow up as well.

"My time was... rough to say the least, but it didn't start off that way. Of course everyone knows of the flowers. Two people took pink roses--Serena and Basil, our victim--if that feels relevant. I honestly am not sure." He shrugs and then considers the camera. "And of course Basil took a picture of us all. As mentioned, I heard a small yelp but at the time it didn't seem important. Nothing seemed nefarious." He shivered. He had been naive for far too long into the night.

"While we were exploring the house, I started off with several people. Boogie Man, Frigi, Kayo, Lucia, and Serena for one. Serena stayed in the study and Frigi left the rest of us along the way, as did Serena when Kayo, Boogie Man, and I went into the kitchen. There was plenty of food there prepared for everyone. The three of us ate for a bit then we all left. I don't know where Kayo went but Boogie Man and I stuck together for a bit longer."

"Let's see... we entered the medicine room. Of course, I locked the door upon exiting. Which I then..." He seems to turn pale and he looks behind him as if to catch someone watching him. "I locked the door and... the bird was there... and the eyes..." He lowers his head in defeat. "I'm sorry, I don't remember much of what happened after that. It's... it's lost. I just... anyway, I ended up in the study with Kayo who was nice and trying to comfort me as well. She um... she destroyed the projector with a golf club and we kinda just sat in the room together for a bit until Mary arrived."

He glances at the blonde girl, more with concern and sympathy than any anger. "Then it's as she explained. She took me to the guest room, passing Basil with a limp on the way, attacked me with the knife and then Ib and Kayo burst in right before an explosion went off. Kayo managed to hide but I did the only thing I could think of to help in those circumstances... When things calmed down we left--well not Kayo, she stayed behind. The door in the Foyer wouldn't open, unfortunately but we just stayed there and saw no one else until Serena showed up. Then... well..." He bows his head in silent condolences

"That explosion destroyed so many of the pretty dolls at the Doll Workshop..! Those poor things... I was working on trying to repair some of them when I saw the strange red door to the well... And it was really dark and I... I..."

Serena shivers, looking at the scary Boogie Man

"I did find a torch, but I was already spooked by then and didn't see much in that well... So I just... I just..."

Tears are welling up in her eyes. It's obvious she is trying her hardest to put up a brave face, but she has never been good at composure. Her auntie said it would come when she grows up, but this is not how it's supposed to happen!

"I'm so sorry to interrupt such a riveting discussion, but I don't think our go-kart has moved too far from the starting line. Why don't we give it a little push? The cause of death, or from another perspective, the method of killing. When Mary recounted her day to us all, why, I heard something that made me raise an eyebrow. 

...Oh? None of you could tell? Perhaps you'd all better improve at reading facial expressions. Why don't I paint a pretty picture for you?"

The monstrous Boogie Man dips his talons in the red paint from the Living Room. A frightening image, almost as if they were covered with blood. He adorns his mask with a tad more expression than it had before.


"Something like this, I believe. Now, what could have caused that curiosity?"

"Mary witnessed Basil with a limp during, what I believe, to be her fourth action. I saw this as well. I passed him on the stairway as I went to the Living Room with my paint bucket. Clearly, he didn't have any injuries this morning - oh, he was all smiles when he took our photos, wasn't he? The photo itself is evident enough..."

"So, do tell, if you have any information for the court... Sometime between the first and fourth actions, Basil was injured. Were there any witnesses to this injury, who could... enlighten us to the cause?"
