Game 102: Nightly One: Food and a Story?

Suddenly around the forest you hear the sound of a grand-father ring out all around you.

"Oh is that the time already?"

Fauna clicks her fingers.

Suddenly all of you are in the Tree-stump village. The tree stumps have smaller tree stumps next to them, producing wooden stump table and chairs. On the wooden stump tables is a spread of vegetable stew, a beautiful smelling peach green tea pie produced by Destiny and Mask Face, water, green tea and white wine for the adults.

"Everyone thank you for coming to the Solstice party albeit a few days early. As you have probably realised my twin sister doesn't want us to celebrate and is in fact trying to make you stay in this forest forever. But please do not worry, everything is under control. I just gotta figure out how to free the animals before the solstice incantation."

She claps her hands together.

"But for now let's just enjoy dinn---"

Suddenly the world freezes around you. Except you 17. You 17 are stuck in your seat, but you can turn your heads. You're looking at each other.

"So what do you think of your glorious host? Precious right? I should state that you're all here along a predetermined story written out for you. Every single person on this planet has a predetermined path, a story designed for them. I want to see what happens if you're given a headstart."

A piece of paper lands in every single one of your hands. You read the writing, and then the paper disappears.

Only you know what it says.

and just like that the world unfreezes.

Fauna happily eats her food. You notice that some other people have also joined you.




After dinner you all get up and go on your merry way, how will you spend your evening?

Before you leave Fauna states you should sleep in rester's retreat at the end of the night, the grass is very nice there and will produce sufficient comfort.

Okay. Ven here let's cover some simple things before I tear my hair out. Nightly/Action One will begin ONCE you ALL get your paper messages in a PM. Please use this PM to send your ACTIONS.

I will confirm this in a discord announcement where you will then get 24 hours to send me your ACTION ONE. You can still uncover map during the night, but the MAP thread will not be updated until after the night as how will people know you've done that, ya know?

You can use this thread to RP during the dinner time - I will state I would prefer it if you could mainly keep it player based RP and leave my NPC's out of it for now (Just cause this many NPC's in one place will hurt me).

Rain will close her eyes, muttering to herself before eating quietly, glancing at the other guests. She will give a wave to everyone, regardless of if they see it or not. She speaks softly mostly to herself.

“This food is wonderful…”

A throne of leaves. A bed, of... leaves. A small divot in which to keep his toys, once he figured out how to make them. The Earl-King's home was coming along nicely.




"I am such a cool Earl-King."


However, a strange feeling had begun to well up during his long, silent reign of no-one. Was this... loneliness?

Ah, of course. What is an Earl-King without his Earl-King Subjects?

But then, the dinner! A burst of company, a succulent meal, new faces and friends and feelings! This was truly earl-kingly. Amidst the meal, he stands, adorned in a crown of leaves and sticks, and claps once to attract his subjects' attention.


"Thank you all for joining me in my home! I am the Earl-King—but you can call me Timmy too. I propose a toast! To... um... dinners! Yay!"

[Ktoasty]

”To dinners!” Luca clinks his cup of preferred beverage after Timmy’s toast.

”Anyway, most of us got one of those shiny papers, right? Maybe we can finish those goals together!” He loads his plate with foods and sits back on his stump. ”Mine said to ‘find my true world’ so it got me thinking, and take a look at this.”

Luca lays out a map that he’s made of the places they’ve seen so far.



”I’m thinking maybe this area in the northeast will have my true world in it! Anyone wanna help uncover that part of the forest with me?”

"I, thank you, Earl King. It is a pleasure to meet you." He drinks of the wine mostly while nibbling on his food. He seems a bit lost in thought and takes his notebook out every so often.

"I do wonder what the real event will look like then. This is a nice warm up to the actual solstice and I assume we are to be here until then."

This food was so good! Usagi is enjoying it so much that she barely pays attention to the note that falls into her lap. It probably isn't too important anyway! At the suggestion, she immediately perks up, eager to know more about this place. 

"Oh, me, me! That sounds super fun!"

"I'd like to speak next, if I could be so bold!

My letter asked me to find some wonderful gold!

So for that I will search! I'll hunt low and high!

If you find any clues, please give me a cry!"

”Pog!” Luca is thrilled by Usagi and Lacey opting to join the paper goal crusade. ”We haven’t found any gold yet either, so maybe this hidden world can solve both our stories, Mr. Leprechaun! There are a couple of areas that might reach the place, that spider colony and druid hangout, so scrounging around there could lead to what we’re hunting for.”

”Oh, and I don’t think I’ve introduced myself yet. My name’s Luca Kaneshiro.”

My name's Mr. Lacey, to meet you, it's swell!

Given the whole, mask situation, she doesn't eat any dinner. Rather; she just looks at everyone else, wondering what on earth it is they're talking about

The nameless mask-bearer is suddenly aware of a young child kneeling right beside her. It was the Earl-King!




"Hey, hey, um, did you know your mask is upside-down? Can you see okay?"

She had somehow lost track of the small child-king, so when he appeared next to her, she was only moderately scared. After regaining her composure, she responds

"I can see just fine. My mask isn't the wrong way around at all."

Wait, a child? Huh??? This is no place for such a human

"How did a child such as yourself end up in such a dangerous forest? Do your parents know where you are?"

She immediately starts to choke upon hearing this seemingly far too cheerful response from a lost, confused child.

"I- I see."

She looks around at the group of people around. None of these people looked fit to take care of a child, some hardly looked fit to take care of themselves.

"What brings you to this place? Were you invited by that kirin over there?"
