Objective 1. How did the victim die? - Complete (20%)
The victim was killed by hyperthermia as you correctly determined. Their body was overheated by the poppet under the bed – owing to the fact that the victim was affected by the bedwetting medicine, which made them unable to sweat and caused the poppet to be unable to register the victim’s discomfort. In addition, the door was locked from the outside and the windows and the vents had been glued shut, preventing hot air or the victim from fleeing the room. Of course, two other factors played into their demise: the wine, which in combination with the medication weakened their mental acuity, and the laxative, which made them physically more susceptible to the intense heat.
(Emi's note: I would have wanted to deduct a little for not mentioning the vents and windows, but this barely matters anymore, so lets be nice here :3 )
2. How did the victim end up in Ren’s Bedroom? - Mostly Solved, Incomplete
(4% / 5%)
“The victim went there on their own, simply following the sleeping arrangements that had been posted on the wall of the Entrance Hall. The only thing that you missed was when and where the list was tampered with – it was when everyone was leaving the party in A4, right after Mari had posted it on the wall and the coast was clear.”
3. How was Ren’s Bedroom locked? And for what purpose? - Mostly Solved, Incomplete
(9% / 10%)
The room was indeed locked with the ice replica of the master key that had been created in the Alchemy Lab using ice magic. Specifically, the Cauldron. The master key that was taken from Storage was left next to a sleeping Battler in A7, before the door was locked from the outside.
The purpose of course, was to prevent the victim from leaving the room during the night, as there was an element of uncertainty baked into how conscious the victim would be. An added benefit was the illusion of a locked room murder having taken place.
4. When and where did the victim die? - Complete (5%)
The simplest explanation is correct. Battler died in Ren’s Bedroom during the night, while everyone else – including the culprit – was already fast asleep
5. Is Mari's Party Event involved in this case? - Incomplete
(2% / 5%)
Yes, it was very relevant. But aside from what the victim drank, this answer eluded you. The party was designed to bring as many people as possible together in one place to enjoy food and drinks – some of which had been tampered with beforehand.
Since there was no way for the culprit to know what everyone would drink or eat before the party, their plan relied on observing what each and every one of the party-goers ate and drank to determine who their victim would be.”
The dice fell on Battler, who among other things was seen eating strawberry cheesecake and drinking coffee and multiple bottles of wine during the event.
The culprit did not tamper with anything during the party, nor did they have any contact with the victim until they entered Ren’s Bedroom in A7 to drop off the master key.
6. What were the key items behind this murder? - Incomplete
(7% / 10%)
The heat poppets were what this answer was looking for. There were four taken from the Storage and placed in four different rooms inside the house for varying purposes. First, one heat poppet was placed in Ren’s Bedroom and was left there to overheat the room and kill the victim. Second, one poppet was used to dispose of the ice key in the Dining Hall.
And lastly, one poppet was placed in both Guest Rooms each – due to the people who were in those rooms not having drunk coffee, the poppets did not overheat and are intact. All four were activated at the same time during A7 before the culprit went to sleep. Because the Guest Rooms weren't in-depth investigated, this objective was near impossible to complete.
7. Was any evidence disposed of? How? - Complete (5%)
The heat poppets themselves were disposed of via spontaneous combustion after having been on for over 6 hours: the two that combusted left behind scorch marks and ash, while the other two could be found intact in the two Guest Rooms.
The ice from the frozen key melted in Dining Hall during A7, using the last heat poppet in the culprit’s possession, causing food spoilage as it heated the room. Only burnt bits and ash in the water remained in a large volume of water that had mostly evaporated, but not completely, by the investigations.”
Objective 9. What did Ren hear in the hallway outside of their room in A2? - Incomplete
(1% / 5%)
Ren heard the culprit. They were not entering the Storage, but rather, hiding behind the corner to wait for Ren to leave so they could sneak into Ren’s Bedroom and set up the crime scene. Ren heard them, because they were close.

10. Were the food or the drinks at the party tampered with? - Incomplete
(10% / 15%)
The coffee was laced with a water-soluble bedwetting medicine, and the strawberry cheesecake had some laxative powder mixed into it during cooking. The bedwetting medicine would make the victim unable to sweat, while the other substances - laxative, coffee and alcohol - magnified their symptoms and weakened them, both mentally and physically, making it easier for the victim to succumb to the heat.
All foods and drinks that were tampered with were tampered with in the Kitchen during A1, when the culprit was participating in the prep for the party.

8. Who is the culprit? - Complete (20%)
The culprit is, you guessed it, Dr. Michael R. Soft-Excel. Though only their identity was required to clear this objective and giving their alibi did not count towards your win, some of it was correctly deduced. This is how things unfolded, chronologically:
A1 - Excel grabbed the medical supplies from the Sick Bay and returned to the Kitchen under the pretense of helping with the cooking. In reality, they baked a cake filled with laxative powder and laced the coffee with a bedwetting medicine.
A2 - Excel headed to the Storage to grab what they needed. Then, they hid in the hallway, waiting for Ren to pass before taking care of the preparations inside Ren’s Bedroom.
A3 - Excel attended the party with most everyone.
A4 - Excel followed Mari out into the hallway and tampered with the list of sleeping arrangements once she had posted it on the wall. Then, they planted heat poppets in both of the Guest Rooms.
A5 - Excel was auto’ed to Library :0
A6 - Excel went to the Alchemy Lab to create the ice key.
A7 - Excel left the master key in Ren’s Bedroom, locked the door with a snoring Battler inside and got rid of the ice key in Dining Hall. Then they went to sleep.
