Chapter 2: A Thunderous Roar (Trial #2)

As you all receive a bracelet notification to gather at the courtyard. Once everyone is gather. The dome in the middle retract and out came the elevator. All 24 of you entered and soon it descends into the depths of the Castle. After a few minutes of descending. The doors open up and shows the trial room is now in shades of sunset with colors of the night sky mixed together. Soon each of you take a stand on your podium as shown below.

Then like before, once everyone stood onto their podium, a metal railling straps the opening space behind you and it began to rise up to 50 feet in the air. Each of your podium moves a little to the front and back. Then in the between Alistar and Excel. The Judge appears on his podium with his cat.

"Ah we meet again, as usual like the first time. We will have a trial to identify who killed your competitors. Oh I but I see, we are at a crossroad here to determine which of the bodies are to be taken into account. For now, I would like all of you to decide which of the bodies perished first. As far as my knowledge goes, the bodies in the Wine Room is discovered first before the one in the Chamber of Solace. So...once I'm satisfied with the discussion. We will add the second part of who killed them. All agree? Now let's begin our trial where I'll act as the judge and execution and you all are the jury. Let the trial begin!"

Rules
  1. Trial will last for 72 hours (Extension is on case by case)
2. You will have to determine who died first then only solve the howdunnit and follow by the whodunnit. 
3. Now that the direction has been set, we will follow what has been voted on.
4. All tarot cards not related to trial will be taken away
5. Questions on investigation can be asked and will last for 12 hours from the trial commencement
6. The DM's if you want a quick reply will be through Discord else the site PM's 
7. Any skills that is to be used, do let me know.
8. Voting system will be informed once 48 hours has passed
9. All rules in trial will be applied according to the site rules
10. Information that are important should be posted here not Discord 
11. Voting will be done through DM's
12. Punishment will be dealt for those who voted wrongly
13. Think carefully on who you vote for and why you vote for them (This is the time to get rid of competition too.)

"I will post my full alibi and investigation results later. Kinda too tired to do so right now. But Satorae has insisted that I at least mention when I last saw Junpei. And that would be during the fifth hour of the night heading out of the kitchen and into the courtyard. He must have died during the final hour."

[Misaki]

*As the trial began. Satorae immediately took the stand*



"Alright. Let me get this out of way. First of all. I suspect that Pogokuma and Cloak were the first victims. Why you ask? Because during my A3. I saw both victims together in the Armory and I saw Pogokuma run out the room with Cloak chasing after him. And the Wine Room just happened to be nearby so they probably might have went to the Wine Room and died there either at the end of A3 or A4. And with Rudy's reveal that he saw Junpei alive during A5. The order of death is most likely that Pogokuma and Cloak were the first ones to die followed by Junpei!"

[Magnus]

"Junpei’s corpse had a burn hole positioned in the centre of his chest, with his surrounding skin burned as well. The front of his clothes had been soaked, due to him laying face-down. His eyes were bloodshot and I noticed a bruise on his forehead, and he wore a pained expression. I noticed a charred smell, although I could not inconclusively determine the time of his demise."

"Ignore the bruised forehead, by the way. That was me hitting him in the face with a rolling pin near the start of the second hour. Doubt it was related to how he died."

"I remember seeing Kyuku last night, actually around A3. I had previously visited the Atelier, and as I entered the Hall of Joy I saw Kyuku leave from the library. I overheard her mention something explosive, although I didn’t hear any more than that."


"Now that I think about it, I remember peering into the library A2. I hadn’t seen Kyuku then, although I noticed Herlock and Yoshida inside."

"I went to the dressing room at the end of A3 and only saw Yoshino and Joe there. Though Cloak and Pogokuma probably must have passed by the room before I did and then Kyuku had already left by the time I got there."

Mipha's hand is resting on her chin.
"There's still some things I want to clear up for myself before I share my findings on the bodies."

"I'm convinced that Pogokuma and Cloak were the first to... pass away. Because I had tried to enter the Wine Room during the 4th hour to find out it was blocked. I could peek inside but the room was fully dark and there was nothing I could hear either. My best guess would be they died beforehand, because I'm certain I would've at least heard something from the room if they died later on."

"Oh and well... It seemed to be blocked from the inside. I could not get the door to budge besides that little bit to take a peek. It didn't look like anything from the outside was blocking it. But my mind was a little foggy at the time because of some smoke appearing in the Hall of Four..."

Ranranru stands between two pictures.

"I want to know if either Nazo S⸸aRo or Sorin Poe is involved in blowing up the library. I saw them on my way there".

"I investigated the Attic and Tower of Worship. At the Attic there's a pillow fort and books in the middle of the room. There are boxes of things in here and on one of the shelves a square four leg imprint has been left here. While at the Tower of Worship it seems like there's only dust in the room and some dust prints to indicate someone was there".

Excel fake-coughs to draw attention to themselves in a self-important manner. They then read out of their tablets the notes they have prepared for this trial.

"The victim was found lying face down in a puddle of blood. There was a single, clean cut across the throat, implying that the victim was willing, unconscious or otherwise unable to defend themselves. His major arteries were cut, resulting in a relatively quick, if painful, death. They would have been conscious for up to a few minutes at most. Their windpipe was not cut, meaning they could scream for help if they wanted to and they didn’t aspirate any blood."

"Rigor mortis is spreading throughout the body, but is not yet complete, making it difficult to tell when they died. However, since multiple people saw them in A3 and the first signs of this process only appear two hours after death, the latest they could have died in was A5."

"There were bruises on his knuckles, hinting at a struggle. His hand has a tight cadaveric grip on the sword, meaning they were holding it when they died - whenever it is a defensive weapon or the murder weapon, it’s too early to tell. The sword’s hilt, the victim’s hands - both the inside of the palm and the wrist - and the soles of his shoes were covered in blood."

"The wound’s shape and directionality confirm that the victim either committed suicide or that their assailant cut their throat from behind them. The wound starts from the left and tails off on the right, which means the assailant should be right-handed or ambidextrous. The victim themselves was right-handed."

"That concludes my findings on the body."

"And oh, yes, Cloak and Pogokuma did enter the Dressing Room in A3. They must have left before you, Yoshino and Joe arrived, Satorae. Perhaps one of the people in that room saw more?"

Alistar stands up straight and delivers his info

Kitchen
Scan : The Kitchen seemed messy. On the floor near the corner of the basement entrance was a microwave. I noticed that there’s a lot going on like an unfinished mac n cheese and unwashed cooking pan and pots.

Opera Hall
Scan : Music was still be there playing in the room but nothing seemed to be missing.

Armory
Scan: The armory had a big giant hole on the western wall. There seemed to be a lot of items and weapons in that room. Near the southern wall, there's a piece of banner in the middle of the room. I did see a lot of weapons and items and some seemed to be missing

Card(I can see how people feel about their invest)-
I felt that Excel found something very interesting with the body that has a chest wound and slit throat and he seemed happy at something else.

I felt Herlock waiting to solve the problem of the Library explosion, and him thinking its a mystery he can solve

I felt Hanna fuming at it, it turns out she felt the Atelier is useless aside from the paintings on the wall.”

Alistar then fakes a cough and stops talking.

[Nahema (Yasuraka)]

Mipha clears her throat, trying to get everyone's attention.

"Regarding my investigations. I didn't take a close look at Cloak's body, but from what I saw I can confirm some of Excel's statements. That the victim was lying face down in a puddle of blood. And also that his hands and soles of his shoes were covered in blood."

"I took my time investigating Pogokuma's body. He was found slumped in front of the couch in the Wine Room. Based on the body I couldn't really judge if the body was propped up that way by someone or if he had slumped down during his passing. Estimating a time of death is also really difficult because of this."

"In the middle of his chest was a wound leaking some puffy pink substance, it seemed the wound was caused by a single stab going deep enough. Not only that, he also had a slit across his throat and there's similar puffy pink ooze leaking from it. For the lack of a better word, I'll call that pink ooze his blood, and it seemed to be slowly drying up. The wounds aren't... errr... fresh enough that the blood is still flowing or properly wet, but not old enough to be fully dried up either. Important to note is that this pink ooze had formed around his sitting position."

"He was holding a dagger tightly with both his hands and it was covered in blood. Besides that the dagger looked fine. I could not see any damages or residues left on the dagger. His hands and feet were also covered in blood, but it wasn't the same pink ooze. His body had some bruises as well, on his body, face and arms. He did not have any pockets, so there wasn't anything else I found on his body. He did seem to be missing his card already."

"His monochrome appearance did make it difficult to see any blood stains on the black side of his body. I'm merely assuming there are blood stains on his hand and foot based on the fact there's stains in these places on the white side of his body."

[Kuroneko]

Kuruguru tacks a picture of the atelier onto her corkboard and uses a red string to connect it to a picture of a chisel with the word "Missing" written across the bottom.

"Alright. I guess it's time to share my results from the Wine Room. First of all. The door had been blocked with a shelf and some chairs which have been split in half when I broke into the room. The drawer have been moved from the corner of the room near the door. I also found no markings or signs of the door being tampered with or signs of any mechanisms that could have blocked the door while allowing the killer to leave the room. The furniture blocking the door also didn't have markings or signs of tampering on them either. There was also a charred line leading from the front of the door towards the stairs."

"There was a splash of blood splatter across the wall marking the wine case where wine was placed. Cloak''s body was lying in a pool of blood in the middle of the room while Pogokuma was leaning on a couch all sparkly clean and there was broken furniture and glasses around the doorway into the room. half bottle of opened wine with a glass stained red on it. I also noted that the carpet looked roughed up which might suggest a struggle took place. Additionally. I also found a gas mask hidden inside a drawer on the west side of the room which seemed to have been used."



"You know based on these findings. It's beginning to look like a murder suicide which I hope isn't the case otherwise I'd be very disappointed because it be boring as heck and that the killer couldn't do a proper locked room murder!"
