Game 100 Prelude RP: Phantom of the Masquerade Ballroom

You arrive at the aforementioned grand building where you were invited to participate in the masquerade. The divine lords have chosen for the event to take place in Tsuki City, the pride and joy of Tea Plains. Some of you had to travel far on a dangerous journey to get here, risking your life

There is however something that worries many politicians keeping Tea Plains stable. This masquerade is the first ever meeting between the gods of its kind. The only time they would be in the same room would be in a government building, discussing the future of DRG-Lands.

This is different.

You get this weird feeling that something will happen. And it will happen soon.

"Ah, it seems our first invited guests have arrived even sooner than the other rulers. Please, come in."

The young woman stands up from her seat by a nearby tea table. For some reason... you imagined her to be taller really.

"Travellers of all nations... Even Forgotten Sancturary and the Aquatic Oceans... It is quite a pleasure to finally meet you all, dear guests. I am the one who rules over the vast, magical lands of Twilight Vale. Known as The Witch of Violet Roses. Though I am quite used to my people referring to me as simply... The Witch or alike."

The goddess gestures toward the tables filling much of the space. Workers and servers run around, preparing for a grand feast. Though there are already drinks and snacks around, available for the taking. The area is huge and overly decorated with candles, drapes of silk and feathers in various colors. Fit for nobles, fit for royalty. It might almost be too much for some of you who are not quite used to such extravagant luxury.

"Please, enjoy this... little event we have set up for you. Take a drink, pick a seat, wander around, get to know each other... Wonder if the other two will ever show up..."

[Magnus]

One traveller stands near the back of the ballroom, easily missed when next beside the lustre of the room. As he was attending a masquerade, he currently wore a gleaming gold mask covering the left side of his face - which would be ditched as soon as he left. Muttering odd words under his breath, a wisp of water condensation rose from his palm, vanishing from sight a moment later.

[Misaki]

*A veiled pink haired girl enters the grand hall*



"So I Satorae arrive at this totally not suspicious party that could change the fate of the DRG Lands hosted by the greatest Witch ever!"

*Satorae then immediately notices a certain lady in the room and...*



"OH MY GOD! IT'S REALLY HER IN THE FLESH! THE WITCH OF THE VIOLET ROSES HERSELF!"

*Satorae runs over to the Witch and bows to her*



"OH DEAR WITCH! I AM SATORAE AND IT'S SUCH AN HONOR TO MEET YOU AT LAST! I'VE BEEN YOUR BIGGEST FAN EVER SINCE I FIRST SAW YOU IN MY BACKSTORY! YOU ARE THE GREATEST AND MOST BENEVOLENT RULER OF THE GREATEST NATION IN ALL OF THE DRG LANDS!"

The Witch gestures with her hand for Misaki to lower down her volume

"Easy now, there is no need to raise your voice like so... Lest you want to reveal those little secrets of yours. I acknowledge your devotion."

"So you've met me before, eh? I suppose some of my citizens of Twilight Vale have indeed seen me whenever I leave my residence once in a blue moon."


"Though allow me to correct you, it is the generous people of Tea Plains whom are hosting this fun little event. The others and I simply arranged for this to happen... And paid a respectable sum for their trouble."

The Witch waves toward a man in a suit, standing a few meters away from the cluster of people. He politely raises his hat in a greeting as he notices people looking in his direction. Citizens of Tea Plains would know that this is the current president representative for their nation.

The main doors swing open once more, allowing for two people to make their entrance.

The smaller of the two, a girl with reddish-pink hair and a school uniform, gasps softly as she looks around the lavish room. "Wow... Snake, Snake, it's incredible in here!"

[Oracle]

A hand is delicately pushed through silk white hair, as a girl sits in a table near the centre of the room, eyes taking in the few people who’ve begun to litter its vast expanse with a mild degree of curiosity. Donned in a sapphire gowns, with a silver mask matching the gowns threading, the Heiress had spent a long time making herself perfect for this very event. Oracle had been expecting more people here this early, as it wasn’t an everyday occurrence that people could make themselves acquainted with those as prestigious as the gods and rulers of the lands, after all. A hand grasps around the sweet coffee infront of her and she takes a small sip, savouring the flavour as she debates her first movements. She had a goal here. Before the girl could rise from her seat, another girl loudly approaches one of the gods. Purple eyes hone in on the occurrence, drawn by curiosity, before eventually flicking away, disinterested. It was none of her business.

Another moment or two is taken to look around the area before she decides to rise, marking her seat with a small blue handkerchief with her family name sewn into the border. She had decided how to begin. She would have to give her thanks to the hosts, afterall. Soft footfalls coming from pristine high heels echoe off the floor as Oracle makes her way towards The Witch, a figure she is unfamiliar with, and the man in the suit. Once she is somewhat close, the girl finds herself bending into a curtsy.

“Thank you for the invite, your witchness. It is very much appreciated. And for hosting, sir.” She rises up, glancing to the tea president representitive, and tilts her head in a similar greeting. "It means a lot."

[Izumiko (Emi)]

The representative seems to sputter and stutter at Oracle s thanks, captivated by the beauty of this young lady. He simply bows and mutters something along the lines of "we simply did what was asked of us" or something like that. The mumbling made it a bit difficult to understand.

The witch herself eyes the girl up and down. She is actually a tad bit shorter than Oracle even with the tiniest levitation that her heeled shoes provide. Yet there is something with the Witch's gaze that Oracle just can't seem to pinpoint.

"You have been though quite the journey to get here haven't you, child?"

"You are quite welcome. I am quite sure you will appreciate our hard-working efforts. Perhaps."

[Oracle]

Oracle takes the moment to smile at the representive's stumble, glad that her given demeaner is able to have such the effect. Eyes once more find themselves on the ruler of Twilight Vale, unsure about the intent behind her gaze or what the womans opinion of her is. She hasn't had much experience with those with magical capabilities, so it could perhaps be her lack of power that earns her such a gaze. Never the less, Oracle keeps herself firm, hands finding their way to smooth down her dress to keep herself from fidgeting at the womans address.

"I did not struggle at all, your witchness. Though the journey took a few days, it was well worth it to be here in all your presences." Her hands clasp together then, "I am sure I will appreciate them. You are all magneficient, and nothing you could do would be unfathomably unkempt." She takes a moment to observe the witch before taking a step back and bowing at the woman, it would be unfavourable to take up too much of the rulers time, especially when they're the host of the evening. The last thing Oracle wanted right now was to lay it on too thick. 

"I bid you farewell for now, as there are other guests who I am sure require your attention. It's a pleasure to formally meet you."

[Misaki]

"I apologize your great eminence! I was just too excited to finally meet my idol! And yes I did see you one day when you were delivering speech and you displayed such elegance and beauty that I decided to devote myself to you. Regardless of who's hosting this party. You are definitely the star of this show oh great and powerful Witch!"

Satorae bows again to the Witch and then takes a seat on the table.



"I can't believe she acknowledged me! She is truly the greatest ruler ever!"

A young man, who’s face can only be described as an Ikeman, walks in, looking left and right, then spotting the witch and representative, walks over to them.

「Hello, my name is Alistar. It is nice to meet you.」


The youth then begins to think deeply, however it is almost impossible to tell he is thinking, let alone what he is thinking.

「(The witch is a ruler and obviously is rich, however I doubt they will fall for me, no matter what, so I should give on that, and the representative is a guy, however that doesn’t mean any of the other guests aren’t possible candidates)」

『You scum…』

There is nothing Excel hates more than a formal. Time spent playing dress up, engaging in idle chatter and fine dining, that could be spent doing something worthwhile, such as working on spreadsheets or drawing up plans to destabilize the government. Yet, here he was, wearing a suit and a mask as the invitation suggested, standing in the midst of a crowd of vastly lesser intellect. But why?

It was because this masquerade was an opportune moment to further his agenda. This was a historical moment, three god-rulers of three countries meeting on neutral ground, one that Excel would take full advantage of in order to gather more information about them. It was unsurprising that Tea Plains was chosen as the place for the masquerade, as it was situated between three of the major countries of the world. It was also convenient for him, as Excel was able to use the connections he’s made in the city to get invited into the party.

As soon as the loudmouth fangirl and the lady, who appeared to be a noble from another country, had exchanged pleasantries with their hosts, Excel would cease his internal monologuing and step forward to introduce himself.

“Dr. Michael R. Soft-Excel, honored by your divine presence.” He bows before the Witch of Violet Roses. “Thank you for gracing our country with such a lavish soirée… it certainly brings back some memories. I look forward to seeing what you have planned for us this evening.”

[Hansbulla]

Having arrived to the masquerade and wearing the finest dress she owned, it would take everything Mydi-Enn had not to tremble uncontrollably in front of all these guests. Of all the elite siblings he could have sent, her father bade her—the least important—to be the one to attend. It is not as if the venue's opulence was too much for her to handle (as her home is similarly furnished), but the slew of people in attendance, rich and common, and the overwhelming prospect of being in the same room as the divine sovereigns that controlled the known world. It places her on the edge of tears which she properly suppresses; such a silly reason for a noble to be afflicted, she thinks.

Mydi-Enn then spots the almighty Witch that her family swore their lives in service to, turns pale in awe, and promptly begins to situate herself towards an inconspicuous corner of the establishment.

[Izumiko (Emi)]

The witch glances at Hoody , noticing his impressive sword. She lets him mull in his mind for a bit before she speaks up, breaking his internal dialogue

"Yes, it is nice to meet you two. Don't go around causing any trouble now, would you? It has fortunately been a long time since I had to wield forth my own weapon... Let's keep this peaceful streak going, shall we~? Huhu~"

With a catlike smirk, her attention then turns toward mao


"Dr. Michael R. Soft-Excel. Pleasure to meet you as well, respectable citizen of Tea Plains. Would you prefer to be called Dr. Excel? I heard a few tidbits about someone like you from the letters I got from the academy. One of the bigger names, not easy to miss."


I am quite fond of this nation myself, so I am truly thrilled for this masquerade to take place here in Tsuki City. It will be very interesting indeed- provided the others show up... Maybe they won't~"

Hansbulla would notice the witch sending a few inquisitive glances towards her as she hides in the corner. Is it just Mydi-Enn being delusional or does she actually see a hint of recognition in the ruler's expression?

[Nana]

"Your witchness?"



A girl with short black hair appears and sits at the end of the table. Wearily looking at the others in the room.



"I assumed she's just a normal person cosplaying as a witch, not a real witch..."



She pulls out her notebook and starts to draw a rough sketch of the witch.



"My name is... Ranranru Kurosaka. Don't mind me here."

[Ktoasty]

Yoshida is quite impressed at the fancy venue. He is wearing a mask that he made out of magic, and his suit is very formal looking. While he's busy marveling the room, his tummy makes a grumbling noise, drowned out by the surrounding conversations so that it can only be heard by himself and those with listening magic.

"I guess now's a good time for breakfast," Yoshida says to himself, and he goes over to a nearby snack spot to eat a magic muffin. Compliments to the chef.
