Mini 66: Trial

[Tetsu]

As the sun rises up, you all gathered in the Rest House's breakfast venue. All of you began eating and chatting about when the news mentioned that the Zapray Typhoon has blew over to another part of the region. You all rejoice and talk about having fun in the sun and enjoy more of your time to explore and maybe Professor Oak could introduce you to the Professor of this region!

Suddenly you hear someone clearing their throat

"Ahem...good morning gym leaders. I'm afraid what your joy and cheerful morning has to come to an end, unfortunately."


All of you looked confused when Morty questioned her what she was talking about and she replies



"Unfortunately, we are called in with regards to a potential murder. Someone found a body on shore this morning and it seemed to be the one who you called a professor. However, due to us Officers are busy with an ongoing investigation, we hope you leaders will lead by example and help us with the case."

Without waiting for your reply she dropped each of you a file


"These are the information we have at hand..use them to your discretion."

You all then take the file and open up to read. Some gasps could be heard from some of you as you read through the file

 After some rather intensive investigation, all of you gathered at the Battle Tent and review what you've found and come up with some of the truth bullets.

Oak's Body
 His skin seemed to have shrivel up and become more wrinkly. His hair seemed to stick close to his forehead. There's bruising on his face, near his eye the other near his cheek. You noticed his wrist has burnt marks on them which seemed to be the rope tied to it and the hands are behind his back.

Crime Scene
Slateport Beach is clean except for the broken boards surrounding Oak's body. There seemed to be some kind of waterproof material next to Oak's body as well

List of Items From PokeMart
A list of items bought was provided by the clerk working last night. It list items such as potions, revives, escape rope, lemonade, super potions, awakenings, antidotes and repels were bought.

PokeMart Clerks Account
 One of the clerk recount that at one point in the night, he felt disturbed by something and the place was turned upside down.

Condition of PokeMart
 The shelves seemed to have moved around and some items were scattered on the floor.

Slateport Market
 The market doesn't seemed to have sold much except for a Metal Coat and some beautiful bell flowers.

Stern's Shipyard
 The owner seemed to grumble that one of his sailboats has gone missing. There seemed to be some upturn grass near the edge of the shipyard's exterior.

Battle Tent
You noticed the tourney chart is still up on the wall

Rules

Trial ends in 48 hours at 10am (EST), 4pm (CEST) and 12pm (AEST) or it should be a Sunday for all (correct me if I'm wrong)

Extention will be granted on a case by case basis.
Any clarification in alibi do let me know

Goo-Maniac Jericho awkwardly shifts his weight from from to foot, leaving strings of residue on the floor as it sloughs off his body.



"Man, this reeks. I'll bet the professor had info on all kinds of novel mucoids for me to assimilate!"

"Ugh. Anyway, I'll bet that dough-faced cheater Gary Oak did this! I don't like his hair. Plus, he was probably super jealous that Professor Oak could remember my (very excellent) name and not his (dumb & boring) name!"

"I'll bet his Blastoise knows Rain Dance, which is why it was so stormy by the end of the night! Gary tied up the professor with an Escape Rope, tossed him onto a sailboat from the Shipyard, and sent it out onto the water. Without a proper sailor to navigate the storm, the boat was tossed among the rocks, destroying it, drowning the restrained professor, and leaving his body out at sea until it washed up onshore with what remained of the boat. Meanwhile, Gary had all the time in the world to cheat me out of a tournament victory with lies and deceit!"

"Assuming we are all under the same restrictions, Blastoise does not know Rain Dance. He used both Hydro Pump and Rapid Spin in my fight against my Dumb Bug."

"My day is ruined."

I doubt you should care but the mess in the pokemart was caused by my careless friend Metagross he was probably just scared of the storm also When I went in there at the start of the storm I grabbed a few potions and a revive or two but that is all I had grabbed and I doubt Anyone one came in after me" (He'd look at the slime thing) "I have one question for you why did you think it was Gary, Penny cheated but I didn't accuse them of murder"

[Peregrine]

Jericho drips noisily as he looks in Slate's direction.




"Well, meatsack, I assumed it was Gary because I hate Gary."

He swings his head—violently flinging goo around the room—to face Viola.

"And on that note, one missing move does not a busted theory make! I still say Gary could have done it, whether that storm was a Pokémon's fault or not! Far as I can tell, he still coulda tied up the professor and sent him out to die at sea, storm or no storm."

"...And before you start accusing me, just remember I've got witnesses like whoa. A convoy of fanboys crowded my space all throughout Actions 4 and 5, and I remember seeing the professor right up until the end of Action 3, y'see? Action 6 and on, I was busy having the slime of my life in the finals, then heading back to the Rest House amongst our peers!"

"I did not say that you were wrong," Viola smiles while holding up Nincada before her. The bug buzzes happily, seeming content with the nickname Viola used earlier. "I do think Gary Oak has the best motive overall and perhaps an opportunity considering their relation and that look at the start of our time here. He was hurt, obviously, by Oak forgetting his name."

Gary is about to speak, when his crowd of raving fangirls starts chanting his name.

GAAARY!! GAAAARY!! GAAAARY!!! YOU'RE THE CHAMP GAAARY!!

"Alright girls, let's quiet down for a minute. I think they all know who the champ is after I crushed them. Pity Gramps couldn't have been around to see it. I know you losers think I did it, but I really was preparing for my match against Jericho. I was far too busy to find and kill my dear old grandad. Now if you excuse me, I must be off. Important Champions like me have places to be after all."

I need a more detailed report of your actions otherwise I can't say you didn't do it.

"Why shouldn't I say the same thing about you? Who's to say you didn't trash the Pokemart to hide some evidence of your crime? I did go to the Pokemart today, at A1. All I did was purchase 4 potions, however. I didn't need anything better than that as I knew none of you would scratch the iron wall that is my Blastoise.

Most of my day was spent battling you puny lot. My first match was at A2 with Viola, who's Nincada didn't stand a chance. At A3 I had a match against Morty, and dispatched his Haunter with ease. I had a break from A4-A5, where I spent it with my fangirls by the Lighthouse, as I'm sure they can attest.

OOOH GAARYY~ SUCH A HUNK!

I was enjoying the sun and watching a sailboat leave the shipyard when it started to downpour. I was the last to arrive at the Battle Tent, but that stupid Oak wasn't there. Jericho and I had the battle anyway, and I triumphed easily. Afterwards I headed to the Rest House and retired, my champion status plain for all to see.

There...good enough for ya?"

"I don't know guys. If Gary never went to the Shipyard, how could he toss Professor Oak onto it and leave him to crash? Just doesn't seem likely for him to be the culprit with that alibi."

[Peregrine]

Jericho wiggles sporadically in Roark's direction.



"Not so fast! Remember, he wouldn't be working alone... Gary himself admits to being the last one at the Battle Tent for A6. The cause of this unpunctuality? Why, murder, of course!"


His words ooze indignation as he speaks.


"I submit that the sailboat Gary claims to have been watching at the beginning of A6 bore, as cargo, none other than his own grandfather; hark! As he was carousing with his fangirls, his Blastoise used its considerable size and hardiness to capture the professor without resistance! Gary then tied him up and shoved him onto the waters lickety-split, and arrived at the Battle Tent only barely delayed."

"I hadn't considered that at all, Jericho. I guess I've gotten so used to befriending Pokemon that I forgot evil organizations that use them as tools for crime are still running rampant."

Roark is still in disbelief at the accusation.

"An evil gym leader. It's not hard to believe after what happened in the Viridian Gym before Gary took over, but..."

"What about the waterproof material we found at the crime scene? It could be the sold metal coat from Slateport Market, and Gary never purchased anything from that area!"

I bougt the metal coat so That is how it is no the water proof material
