As the apprentices are going about their evenings, they suddenly hear Chatot's Echoed Voice:
"Attention all apprentices, we have a... situation! Please report to the Western Square as soon as possible!"
The recruits nervously do as they're told, dreading what might await them. Mimikyu, Samurott, Nincada, Bayleef, and Arcanine are already there. The others quickly join them, followed shortly by Monotuff and Chatot.
After a headcount, the apprentices realize not everyone has arrived. Everyone makes the same observation at once: Slaking's back is... missing something. The recruits look at each other. Without a word, almost everyone takes off to look for the missing Slakoth. The five who had already been in the Western Square all try to say something, but their voices go unheard as their companions take off to find the young recruit.
Eternatus (or one of them, since there appear to now be two) senses a familiar scent on the breeze and dashes forward, their comically undersized Charmander costume flowing behind them like a cape. The others take note of the massive dragon's maneuver and follow along at a run, coming to a series of holes dug into the earth in front of Chansey Day Care. Eternatus stares into the largest of the dirt pits...
Were the predator capable of making facial expressions, the others would be sure Eternatus was grinning.
The apprentices gather around, the bravest among them leaning over to look inside. There, at the bottom of the hole, they find...

The shocked recruits clumsily back away from the pit as they notice Slaking walking towards it, their breaths caught in their throats as they look on. Slaking silently reaches down into the pit.
He nonchalantly picks up his son and places him on his back.
"C'mon, the bird wants us for something. Let's go."
Slakoth nestles his head into the fur of his father's back and lets out a half-awake m-hmm. Slaking walks back to the Western Square without another word. The others, partially relieved but mostly flabbergasted, eventually recover from their confusion and follow along, Eternatus quietly cursing under their breath.
"Oh, did we finally find everyone? That's great! Now, I believe our friends had something to show us—"
Monotuff looks at Samurott, then makes a double take.
"—We have a third new friend?! How did I not know? Hi, new friend!"
"...wait, but if you're here, then we should have thirteen apprentices. So, where's—"
With a gulp, the five who had arrived first quietly head towards Kangaskhan Storage, where the rest of the apprentices follow. Stepping into the dark room, their eyes take a moment to adjust. There, behind the Kangaskhan rock, a shadow lies unmoving. Approaching, they see a strange stone, one adorned with both a bow and a friendship bracelet...

The body of Spiritomb, the Super Duper Gathering of Souls, has been discovered!
After a long, uncertain moment, Monotuff lets out a sniffle, then another. He quickly descends into hiccupping sobs.
"Waaaauuugh! I don't wanna! I don't wanna have to search for another Meanie! Why... why can't we all just be good, friendly friends?"
Wiping his tears away, Monotuff turns to face the apprentices.
"No, we must! For our good friend's sake, we have to search and search! As guildmaster, I swear the Meanie shall be found! Yoom... TAH!"
With renewed vigour and redoubled enthusiasm, Monotuff dashes out of Kangaskhan Storage.
As an update:
There appear to be two Eternatuses. Eternati? Regardless, one of them is wearing a very small Charmander costume and an apprentice badge which reads Birdhouse.
Arcanine's fur is slightly poofy and surprisingly clean.
Eevee is standing on slightly shaky legs, and she winces with pain when she flexes her back.
Sandshrew, Slakoth, Samurott, Mimikyu, and Bayleef all appear to have small wounds on their feet.
Slaking has several of these same wounds on his back. He also has a fair amount of fecal matter and straw stuck to his head, torso, and hands.
Nincada, Bayleef, and Samurott are all covered in dirt. Espurr's paws are also slightly dirty.
Mimikyu's tail is slightly burned at the tip.

Investigations will last 24 hours, soon after which investigation results will be PM'd to you, and the trial will begin shortly thereafter.
