The guild collectively converges on the door to Monotuff's room, exchanging worried glances. The door eventually opens, and the situation is hastily explained to the guildmaster...
"What? You think something's happened to Rayquaza!?"
"Why, why..."
"Why that's just silly! I can see clear as day that our beloved Super Duper Sky Serpent is fast asleep, as it should be! Nothing wrong with that!"
With that, Monotuff bounds joyfully out of his room, the doors slamming shut behind him. With a cry of "Yoom... TAH!" the guildmaster raises his arms, and a sconce at the far, far end of the eastern hallway ignites, casting an orange glow over the entire area. The apprentices all rush towards the end of the hallway, where sure enough, a massive serpentine form lies dormant in its bedroom...

With that, Monotuff bounds joyfully out of his room, the doors slamming shut behind him. With a cry of "Yoom... The apprentices all rush towards the end of the hallway, where sure enough, a massive serpentine form lies dormant in its bedroom...
{Spoiler}...Rayquaza lies still, curled up peacefully, as though it were only taking a nap. Scorch marks cover its face and the surrounding floor, and a scrap of fabric dangles limply from its jaws. The room is suffused with a terrible, unnatural quiet...
The body of Rayquaza, the Super Duper Sky Serpent, has been discovered!
A terrible silent moment passes among the apprentices, questions abound and a sickening sense of dread knotting in their stomachs.
"Oh... Rayquaza... isn't sleeping? But... but..."
"Why!? I thought we were all... all... friends! Friendly friends!"
Monotuff bawls loudly, and were the candidates not in a state of shock from the sight before them, they might have noticed the ground trembling beneath their feet.
"That does it! According to our guild's Code of Conduct, all of us friends have to agree on who did this, that... that meanie! We'll search and search and search, and we'll discuss and discuss and discuss, and we'll... we'll find them! Yoom-TAH!"
With his announcement made, Monotuff storms off down the hall, fuming.
What a terrible turn of events! Use this thread to discuss how you will proceed, as we begin our first Investigation!
Here is a reminder that you have 3 credits with which to search. Each search action will cover one room at a time. For the purposes of investigation, the body counts as a separate room.
A Scan costs 1 credit, an In-depth search costs 2 credits, and any investigation action you're already taking can be improved with the Move Detective by spending an additional 1 credit! Please post what investigation actions you'll be taking here, or PM them to me through DRG (Peregrine ) or Discord (PeregrineFu) if you'd rather keep them private.
Investigations will last 24 hours, soon after which investigation results will be PM'd to you, and the trial will begin shortly thereafter.
