Mini Trial 31 - Horn E. Jail

You’re all led to a makeshift courtroom. “Judge Goat presiding. All rise.”

You all stand up - because there are no seats, only podiums - when a man with the head of a goat and the body of a goat appears from the back of the room and walks on top of the judge’s seat, bleating. You all recognize him as the mascot of the prison, who you did not know is also a legal professional of the highest degree. In fact, he’s world famous.

“Ehem, you are all here today to take part in this trial over the victim's death as both suspects and witnesses. There’s an overwhelming amount of evidence - although not as complete as I would have liked. But that’s not the only crime committed in Horn E. Jail. It has come to our attention that multiple rule-breaks have occurred and rest assured, those responsible for any kind of illegal conduct during yesterday will not be allowed to leave this chamber alive. We’ve prepared executions for all of you, should your crimes come to light.”

“And oh, speaking of criminal conduct, Truth Bullet #1 has been amended to include evidence tampering. It could be destroying, misplacing, altering or manufacturing evidence of any kind. Sadly, the way these investigations work means that some of your Truth Bullets numbered from #11 onward may indeed be the fabrication of a criminal mind! This was intended to be there from the start (as you may have read from the start) but a mishap from my secretary (your host Mao) caused it to be enunciated poorly.”

“Follow the rules carefully or face the retribution of our Supreme Court! If you have any questions, feel free to direct them to me or the Warden, publicly or in private chambers.”

“Let’s get this trial started then, shall we? Who would like to go first?”

"Time for a morning walk, shall we?"

A godly voice is heard from above. From above, rays of light appear, shining down into the courtroom. As you look up into the light, you see something slowly float down.



Slowly, but surely. Eventually, it lands on the floor and sits down.



"Bark bark woof. Bark mlem arf!"

"He wonders what that frankenstein puppet is supposed to be."

"Arf?"

"No. Let's not eat it."

[Vaellin the Bard]

Mukuro brushes aside his bangs, his one red eye shining as he laughs. “Kufufu. Allow me to begin by explaining my day. The first horn I was, as most of us were, on the upper floor where I met up with Luka and Rance. Luka and I didn’t make it down until the second horn, however, though Rance stayed behind. There I went to the library, and I believe I saw the young hero head towards the kitchen. I was in the library from the second through the fourth horn. Gareki here was with me from the third beyond. Rance, the adventurous soul, showed up at the fourth. The fifth horn was when we heard a gunshot. Kufufu, naturally we investigated. Near the east sector, but still in the courtyard, we met Ren and watched some guards shoot another person from the north sector. Don’t know who.


“I believe it was the sixth horn when a loud explosion went off near the western sector of the courtyard. Kufufu, we went to investigate what happened but the guards sent us away. We split up then. Gareki, Rance, and I went up to our cells at the seventh bell.“

I'd like to discuss the murder weapon. So, currently all the evidence points to the kitchen knife being the murder weapon. But if so, then who could've had time to do it and when?

Well aware of his heavy accent Ren did his best to speak as slowly and clearly as he had the patience for.

“ Time? Who had time? Not me. I was in the kitchen.  Oh, I know  ‘ The knife was in the kitchen, the exorcist is guilty’! No! I had NO time. That woman kept me working 
 all day. I never had a chance to leave until I was finished. Furthermore, if I were to kill someone. I would not need a weapon to do so. “

He cracked his knuckles for emphasis,.

I think I don't need to prove my innocence because it is obvious, but I'll tell you where I was and what I was doing. First horn, I was in my cell doing usual business. During that time, I found my wonderful perfume. Second horn, I went out of the cell and into the elevator, there I saw Rorona, who was smelling, like she didn't have a shower in years. Gosh, that smell. So, I used the perfume on her, so she could not hate her life so much. When I stepped out of the elevator, Ray walked into the elevator. Then, I went to the Kitchen to see how the preparations were going. There I saw Ren and Luka hard at work. I didn't step inside because I didn't want to disturb them. I told them to not forget to get my gorgeous dress from the laundry. After all of that, I headed to the courtyard. Third horn, I sprayed some perfume on myself, and I saw Gareki heading out of the courtyard angry, and he went to the east sector. Then, I passed by the visiting room, didn't see anybody there. Fourth horn, I went back to the courtyard. There I saw Rorona hanging out with the goat. I guess she doesn't have any other goals in life. A pity. I asked her if everything was ready. She said "yes". Then, I noticed a guard, coming out of the north sector and carrying a heavy bag full of something. So, in the cafeteria, there were Ren and Luke who were setting up the tables. Luke gave me my beautiful dress, so after that I went to the elevator with Rorona. But before that, I made sure I sprayed some perfume on Luke because he smelled like he had eaten waste for the past few days. The elevator was occupied, so we waited. Fifth horn, Ray stepped out of the elevator, so we went in. After some time on the second floor, getting dressed, I went back to the cafeteria with Rorona. Sixth horn, I heard a defeaning sound. So, we arrived at the cafeteria, but there was no one there. I decided to check the courtyard. There I saw Mukuro, Ren and Gareki.  Seventh horn, we reunite in the cafeteria. In the cafeteria  were Rorona, Ray, Luke, and Ren. That's all.

Rorona looked at Margaery.

"Y-y-you were in the Kitchen horn 2? B-b-but you are not allowed to enter the Kitchen!"

"Margaery's feast was applied through everything and approved by the Warden, based on what the truth bullets say. It's not unrealistic to say she'd be given permission to enter the Kitchen to prepare for the meal, even if she were a high risk prisoner.

While we're talking about high and low risk, can I get a quick catch up on everyone's threat levels? That should make things a little easier. All I know is that myself, Luka and Mukuro are low risk."

 Ren indignantly folded his arms-well, sleeves-across his chest. That anyone would  even he imply he could be a “ high-risk” like any other violent thug was appalling.

Pop, master of the art of standing so incredibly still he cannot be seen by the human eye, bursts to life at the smell of the delicious Dining Hall.

"Hey everyone what are we doing here? All I remember is 5 toot-toots and then a loud BAZZAMMO!!!!!"

There is a worried-looking nurse standing behind Pop. "Are you sure you're up to this, Prisoner...? I mean, I-I would totally understand if you wanted to sit this one out..."

The warden straightens up.

"Yes! That is something I can do! I can help!" He clears his throat dramatically before beginning. 

"Our high risk prisoners are: Rorona, Margaery, the Annoying Dog, Pop, and Gareki!"

"Our low risk prisoners are: Mukuro, Rance, Luka, Ren, and Rachel!"
