A primordial aching; a dull, indistinct sensation of immaterial longing—the agony of unfinished business.
The spirits of the deceased, made unmanifest after their tampering of evidence in the haunted manor, suddenly succumb to the waking sensations around them. Soft light, dull sounds, the old pressure of gravity. Opening fresh eyes, they each emerge into being one by one, to find themselves seated at a large round table of stained oak. In front of each of them is a tall glass on a coaster; a large bowl of tortilla chips occupies the centre of the table.
The spirits of Madeline, Marrion, and Kogarashi are rather confused, guests anew in what appears to be a pub of some persuasion. Warm light suffuses the room, casting a calming glow over their faces. Madeline's sweater is punctured, and an open wound can be seen on her chest. Marrion is decorated in open wounds across her body, along with deeply burned skin. Kogarashi has a deep, open cut across his wrist. Despite these wounds, none of the guests feel any pain or hindrance to their movements. They are simply comfortable.
Across the room, the spirits can see out a large awning window, from which they can see and hear the trial of the living. The remaining twelve guests are in the midst of their arguments. The ghosts may as well take the opportunity to discuss the findings themselves, and see if they can't determine the truth for themselves. After all, what other entertainment might one find in the afterlife?
Hello, ghosts! Welcome to the first Trial of the Damned, a companion trial to Trial 2.
There will be no reward or punishment for right or wrong answers, however, in the event that the living reach a tie, your votes may be used as a tiebreaker.
This is just a space for the ghosts to hang out together and discuss the crime. If you have any questions, The Narrator or a Spiritual Waiter or Waitress may be able to answer. As usual, gave fun!
