Game 92 - Trial 2: End of an Exorcist

Have you all had the chance to look around? I hope so, because time is up. Let's get down to business, then.


The guests all congregate in the graveyard once more, looking upon the great stone mausoleum which will take them deep into the earth once more. Some are terrified, some disinterested, some excited. Skelly opens the doors and ushers the guests into the elevator. Soon, the floor shudders once more, before delving down, down, ever downward.

The guests look around at each other anxiously. Do they feel prepared? Or are they out of their depth?

When they arrive at the bottom, the doors open and let the remaining guests spill out onto the courtroom floor. Three podiums are now occupied by gravestones, the new visages of Marrion and Kogarashi staring grimly into the centre of the circle. The guests take their places, and a nervous hush passes over the room. Skelly calmly saunters to his stool against the wall, silently adjudicating the affair. No one is sure who will speak first.


I will remind them of their purpose here. Their goal is to determine, for lack of a better word, whodunnit. By discussing amongst themselves, presenting evidence, giving testimony, and resolving arguments, they must ultimately uncover the truth behind the death of Kogarashi Fuyuzora, the exorcist in training, and finally vote for the one whom they believe is the culprit. Should they vote correctly, as decided by a simple majority, the culprit will be appropriately punished for their misdeed. Should they vote incorrectly, however, the culprit alone shall escape punishment.

Without further ado...

Trial 2 will last 72 hours from the creation of this thread. Should there be a unanimous vote earlier than that, it will end prematurely.

If the majority of players wish to prolong the trial further by the end of this period, a further period of time may be added, at the hosts' discretion.

You may ask questions of Skelly or The Narrator. Neither will ever tell a deliberate falsehood. Both reserve the right to ignore or refuse any question at their discretion. Please treat them with respect.

J@N3 speaks up, his robotic speech gone for a moment

"I will say first, I saw Kogarashi enter the room early at night, around action 3. I can also say that the people who were with me are certainly innocent of this act, as the door was barricaded at the same time. There was myself, Yuriko, Mizuki and...Vee. We were trying to stop her from setting the library on fire beep boop."

J@N3 then asks Yuriko, his robot voice returning

"How is your injury by the way, bleep"

[Ktoasty]

Bellamy tilts his head downwards, deep in thought. "That's a really big lead to start on, for sure. That could mean Kogarashi stayed in the Bedroom all night from that point on, although we can't be sure that the barricade wasn't undone afterward. Thanks, Jane."

He scans the group. "Has anyone else seen Kogarashi tonight, or been upstairs by the Bedroom? I was in the Library for a short while with Aria and Yuriko during Action 1, but I went straight to the first floor after the sudden ghost activity in there. Besides that, I didn't see Kogarashi all night."

"Why yes in fact, (A3) Kogarashi was standing next to me at the fountain, without my knowledge prior. He ran off into the front yard though...."

"beep boop. I feel like the killer unbarricaded the door. I heard the door get barricaded when Kogarashi entered the room. Also during my investigation I saw two sets of footprints and the knife was thrown out the window. So it cant be a suicide because how would the room have been unbarricaded and the knife out the window if there was 1 person."

"Allow me to add onto that for you!"
Daisy said energetically.

"When me and J@N3 searched the room, I couldn't help but notice a few other things, such as the bloody mess in the side of the room, closest to the Window. Not to mention, there was a tree branch in reach, so I can say that our killer could have climbed down the tree branch and left the knife on the Ground?"

"That seems to be the only way of escape from that room"

J@N3 beeps and boops

Tomiko, playing anxiously with a paintbrush, decides to speak up. "Um... I think we should try to figure out at what point during the night the victim was killed at. Then we could see if anyone was outside around that time, and happened to see or hear anything strange, such as the killer escaping through the window."

[Spell Craft]

Rei speaks up in a timid voice.

"I saw Kogarashi during the night... I watched him walk through the front door during action 3, as I was walking to the living room."

[Nerdy Barista]

"So... I have a quick question for those of y'all who investigated the body."

"Unless you get squeemish with cuts, especially ones in the arms, then you should be able to answer this.
Which arm had a cut on it? The Left or Right?"

She pondered. For a moment, before reaching an idea.
"And since me and J@N3 saw some bloody footprints... Yet they were distinct... Possible accomplice?"

[Spell Craft]

Rei tenses up with a tight face.
She appears to be squeamish at the talk of blood.

"I-I'll help out where I can, but I don't think I'm the right person for finding out things related to ...the how*"
(*the how they died, aka blood or cutting, etc.)

Rei sighs.
"This is going to be a long trial if we don't start discussing something though."
"I'll start with this. I don't want to go full force into my alibi for the night until we discuss the most important questions first, like Daisy's question, but I can say that I never went outside nor upstairs during the entire night."
Rei nods, seeing if anyone was listening to her.

[Segaaaa]

Body invest - Kogarashi's wrist was sliced and hit an artery, but I cam tell he could have lived at least a minute before bleeding out. This is his only wound.
There's blood and two footprints going to the window.
No signs of poisoning nor ghostly interference

Daisy took a moment to stray away from her question and looked at Battler

"What I found was a mural depicting a darling pastoral scene, it was pretty soothing, but at the same time, that mixed with the crime scene just made investigating a little more emotional."
She looked off to the side, brushing off her dress and putting on her glove she had found at the fountain while investigating.

"As for the knife all I could see was that it was outside the window in the grass down below."

Daisy then repeated herself.

"Since you have investigated the body, let me ask again, which arm were the cuts on? The left, or right?"

J@N3 speaks in his robo-voice

"I saw 2 people by the tree while i was on the balcony with Yuriko. Tomiko and someone I couldn't make out. Everything Daisy has said has been correct. The wardrobe being moved away from the door was because of me...altough I have just acquired an idea beep boop. So, the wardrobe was barricading the door the entire night after action 3. Was anyone upstairs before action 3? I need to know something."

J@N3 taps his cardboard head making computer noises

“I was upstairs before action 3,” says Tomiko. “I was painting a mural in the bedroom in the afternoon, and I lost track of time. I was painting there during action 0. I’ll answer any question, if it will help!”
