O-hoho, what's this?
A brand new group of friends to play with?
Come in, come in! Let me get some drinks. Have a seat, stay a while… perhaps, forever?
Welcome to Game 92, and by extension, the Rhine Manor! A mysterious mansion haunted by the spiteful spirits of its dreadfully departed… well, not yet. That’s where you come in!
This game will use 6 nightly actions; your hosts will alternate which one handles actions each round, so we will notify you at the start of every Deadly who is in charge. Please PM your actions to the appropriate host either through DRG or Discord. Action results will be sent every 24* hours from the start of Nightly. As always, Daily is for role-play. With the addition of findable exclusive items, though, Daily actions done on threads can have an effect on what happens throughout the game.
As with the previous game, there will be activity-related rules, as follows:
You are required to:
1. Be active for at least 4/6 actions during any Night that you are alive.
2. Investigate at least one area during any Deadly.
3. Post at least your alibi and investigation results during any Trial.
4. Vote during any Trial. You will be given the option to abstain.
If you are unable to do any of these things, please let one of your hosts know in advance. If you are inactive without telling a host beforehand, you will receive a warning. If you are still inactive after the warning, you will be removed from the game. Furthermore, if you are deemed inactive for two games in a row, you will not be allowed to join again until you've been sufficiently active in at least two Mini-trials. The horror!
Additionally, we will be introducing a few new rules this time around, so please keep them in mind:
Action 0
Between Daily and Deadly there will now be Action 0, which will allow the Blackened to take a day or two to prepare their murder if they want to. Each living player will be sent a PM explaining roughly what they did and who they saw during Action 0.
Ghostly Actions
What’s this, the deceased now get to play? That’s right! In the unfortunate event that you find yourself killed during your stay at the manor, you will return for the next Nightly as a ghost. Ghosts will be allowed to take only 3 actions, resolved every 48* hours. Now’s your chance to haunt the manor! Ghosts are invisible to everyone else, including other ghosts. Just like normal deceased, ghosts cannot sign up to be blackened, nor can they post in Trials.
Trials of the Damned
What’s the point of getting to participate after you’ve died if you can’t participate in trials? This game will introduce a hidden trial thread as a companion to each trial. This thread will be accessible only by ghosts, where they have the opportunity to try figuring out whodunnit as well. This trial will have no bearing on the main trial. Probably.
Ghost-Hunting Items
Of course, with the existence of ghosts must come the means to interact with them. Two new ghost-hunting items will be hidden on each floor you unlock. You will be told what they are and what they do at the start of each daily, and it’s your responsibility to find and use them! Barring exceptions, your character is able to have only one ghost-hunting item at a time. While you have the item, you are the only person who can use it (again, barring exceptions).
3-Credit Search
For each deadly, each player will get 3 credits to search. As usual, you may spend 1 credit to scan an area or 2 credits to do an in-depth search. However, you may now spend 1 extra credit on a search action to determine if any evidence you find is the work of a ghost, rather than a living player. Otherwise, you won’t be able to know the difference!
Before we begin, allow us to introduce your hosts.
I am The Narrator. As such, it is my duty to tell your story. I make the final verdict on what goes on in this haunted mansion. Unfortunately, being a disembodied voice forbids me from interacting with you beyond my godly duties. I don’t expect you to take care of yourselves of course.
This is Skelly, the Rhine Manor’s caretaker.
He will be present through the days, nights, and trials during your stay at this estate. Please treat Skelly well, and he shall make sure your visit is comfortable.
Without further ado:
To sign up, please reply with your character’s Name, Ultimate Talent (or any kind of talent really, we won't judge), and optionally a Picture.
