Welcome to the Mini-Trial!
A side game to our site’s main Games, the Mini Trials exist primarily to allow players not in the current Game to have a taste of the fun while waiting for the next Game to begin. As such, Mini Trials consist of a gutted-down system of the past, focused around the Trial phase, that takes place over a much shorter amount of time than our main Games tend to. The goal of the Mini Trials is to either discover which one of your classmates murdered another one of your classmates, or to get away with said murder.
Over the course of a week, a Mini Trial will consist of sign-ups, a murder plan, an investigation, and the Trial. The Mini's are structured so that Sign-Ups will last between Monday and Wednesday, and the Trial will take place between Friday and Sunday. Exact times are to be determined by the host of the week.

How It Works:
1) The Host creates Sign-Ups. The Host posts the schedule for the week, the map(s) to be used for the Mini, and any additional rules or notes they so desire. In response, all players who wish to sign up will post in the thread, making sure to include a character name (if you wish to not use your own username), an Ultimate title, and if desired, a picture of their character.
2) Assuming 5 or more players have signed up, Sign-Ups will end on Wednesday at the Host's posted time. At this point, the Host will randomly select one of the players to be the Blackened, and that person will have 24 hours to PM the Host their murder plan. The murder plan consists of how exactly the Blackened murdered which other student, as well as set-up, and any other events before and/or after that the Blackened wishes to create. The more details in the plan, the more interesting the Trial tends to be; so please, do not simply write that you stab someone, and then run away.
If the 24 hours go by without the Blackened responding, or, if the Blackened wishes to not be the Blackened, then they are publicly removed from the Game, and a new Blackened may be chosen.

3) Between receiving the murder plan, and the Trial beginning, the Host will create a number of Truth Bullets about the case. Each Truth Bullet will be a 100% true fact about the murder plan's evidence, but it is up to the players to determine what each one means. The Host will post the Truth Bullets, how the truth bullets were found, and a description of the body as well as any other important scenes in an Investigation thread.
In addition to the Investigation Thread, the Host will send each player who signed up (minus the deceased player) a summery of their day (usually via site PM's or Discord DM's), which will generally only be a few sentences long. 4) Next, the Host will post the Trial. This is where all the players come together, and use the Truth Bullets and their alibis to figure out who committed the murder; except, of course, for the Blackened, who does everything in their power to get away with murder. Unlike our normal Games, in these Trials, all members of the site, including the deceased player, will be allowed to participate in the Trial.
In each Trial, there will be a poll at the top, containing the list of all players in that Game. To vote in that poll is to vote on the Blackened, and once the poll is locked, the Mini Trial is over.

5) Upon the Trial’s poll becoming locked, the Host will post the Results thread, revealing who the Blackened was, an execution for the losing side, and whatever else they want. And with that, the Mini Trial ends, and a new Sign-Up will begin either the next day, or the week after.
