RP Rules
✪ Do not post in the current game unless you entered the Sign-Ups.
✪ Do not post if you have been killed (either by Blackened or by vote) during the game.
✪ Posting in the trial when you are already dead is strictly prohibited. Additionally, no giving hints to alive players BY ANY MEANS other than what a host says is all right.
✪ Creating deals and/or alliances is permitted, but accomplices will receive nothing if the true blackened wins.
In a trap scenario, the one who sets the trap is always the murderer UNLESS they specifically try to help the one who set off the trap get away with murder.
In a trap scenario, the one who sets the trap is always the murderer UNLESS they specifically try to help the one who set off the trap get away with murder.
✪ Role-playing is fine, but don't take it to extremes. Do not purposefully be annoying, and do not "present" fake evidence that doesn't exist.
✪ Multi-posting (posting more than once in a row) or posting what is deemed as useless gibberish in the Current Trials section of the forum.
✪ You may not pass on your role as blackened to any other living player at any time.
✪ You are allowed to share your Skill with other people. However, be careful if you share it.
✪ No screenshotting your investigations/nightly actions. Copying and Pasting is alright, just don't go overboard with it.
Sign-ups
1. The total time of this period will be usually 72 hours.
2. This game runs on activity, with that said, please do NOT sign-up if you know you will be unable to participate, or else you will be punished according to the rules stated on the main rules page.
3. Backstories are optional, but will be included somehow in the story if you give one!
4. Max number of players to sign-up: 20. This is a final max number, as it would be difficult with a higher number.
Daytime Rules
1. During Daily Life, the players have the opportunity to roleplay as their characters. The host can introduce their mastermind, the murder game and the motives during this period.
2. The Blackened will be randomly picked by RNG. This is the killer during each round of the game. The Blackened changes every round (day > night > investigation > trial > results)
3. If you are seeking plot-wise investigations, you can take up to 10 actions during daily. This does not count towards posting, talking to players/NPCs, or just simple roleplay.
4. Daily Actions (that cost an action) include:
+1 Exploring a New Section.
+1 Unlocking a room.
+1 Unlocking a room.
+1 Scanning a room.
+1 Doing a quest.
+1 Doing a quest.
+1 Picking up an item for investigation.
+1 Pocketing an item, yes this costs an extra acion. (You can hold up to 3 items per person)
+1 In-depthing a room. (1 to scan + 1 to in-depth, similar to investigations during deadly)
+1 Asking NPCs plot-specific questions. (Otherwise, you can interact with them without costing an action)
5. You may not set up traps or aids or similar devices to help you with catching the blackened, during Daily. You may only do this at night.
6. All room investigations will be posted publicly. You may DM the host what you will like to do, and if the host sees fit, they won't include your name, but the room will be opened for everyone to see/enter themselves.
7. You cannot lock a room after it is unlocked.
8. Do not make this a DM game during Daily. DM's are only meant to keep track of what people do or inventory, or that occasional secret action. You may only use 1 action per Daily in secret, if fit. Otherwise, everything is made public for everyone else to read and keep up with the game.
Nighttime Rules
1. The Blackened is notified at the start of Nighttime by the host.
2. Players send the host Personal Messages of their actions during nighttime. There is a limit of 6 actions per night; 1 action every 24 hours.
3. After everyone (besides inactive players) has sent their actions to the host, they will piece everything together. For example:
Aqua: "I go to the Kitchen and get a big slice of carrotcake."
Host: "You leave your dormroom and head to the Kitchen. On your way, you see Alucard running around with a carpet tied around his neck. As you and Hoshiko enter the Kitchen, you see Emi is already there, sneaking a kitchenknife into her jacket. You take your cake and eat it cheerfully."
As you can see, the other players (Hoshiko, Emi, Alucard) are also walking around the building, just like our exampleplayer Aqua. This way, alibis can be presented during the trialphase. Aqua could tell the other players that he saw Emi taking a kitchenknife if it would be relevant to the case.
4. The Blackened is treated just like any other player during Nighttime, with one exception: The host will try to keep the Blackened from getting caught. It's very vague but this could be done by, for example, giving the Blackened better reflexes than normal players. This is to keep the game moving forward, and not end in a game over right away, which wouldn't be fun.
5. After the last action, everyone will automatically go to their own dormroom, falling asleep until Deadly Life. If three or more people discover a body before the last action though, a Body Discovery Announcement will happen and Deadly Life will start early. Players cannot be hurt once they've reached their dormroom after the last action. The Blackened won't automatically go to their dormroom after the last action, however. The blackened has 3 extra actions after 6, to clean-up the murder, move the body, plant false evidence, etc. These actions are within reason, and no murder can be fully covered up from investigations.
6. Keep actions on time, there are penalties for inactive players. One action every 24 hours. You can send it either on Discord or on site.
Deadly Rules
1. A Class File will go out revealing the victim, location, and minor details about the body. Additional info can vary depending on the circumstances.
2. Players send the Host a PM with a location/locations in the school they wish to investigate. Each player has 2 investigation credits. A room can be "scanned" by spending 1 credit, and investigated "in-depth" for 2 credits. In-depth usually gives more information than scanning. The victim's body counts as a separate room. (Example: You can scan both the body and the crime scene, but only in-depth one or the other.)
3. Investigation results from a particular room is the same among all players depending on the type of investigation you choose. (scan or in-depth) However, only things revealed at face value are shown to the player. It's up to them to look for hidden clues or investigate pieces of evidence further. This can be done by asking the host questions about the given investigation results. This is dependent on the activity of players, so be sure to be active during this time!
4. This period lasts for 24 hours, and then the Class Trial will occur.
5. You can further examine any items taken during investigation at any time.
6. Each trial will increase the investigation points by 2 for all living players.
Trial Rules
1. Remaining Players will discuss for at least 24 hours about the murder and possible suspects.
2. A poll will be open from the get-go containing all of the names of the players from the Sign-Ups. Dead students will not appear. You will only have 1 vote to use.
3. Players can choose to investigate a piece of evidence that someone took with them to the class trial further. They just have to ask to do so in the thread, and the host will post the results whenever they can.
4. Results will be posted after polls close.
Results
1. The player with the most votes is killed. If a tie occurs, the kill will be randomized, through RNG.
2. If the Blackened was not killed, the player with the most votes AND 1 randomly picked player will get executed and the game continues.
The Blackened stays in the game until the end of the game, immune to murder or executions. (both count as a win) This is a given right for winning a class trial as the blackened.
3. If the Blackened was killed, then another daily life will be posted within 24 hours. This is again when people will be able to sign up as blackened.
4. The game will continue until there are no more students left (blackened win), there are 4 consecutive blackened losses (student wins), or the roleplay ending is discovered (secret ending).
