Game 79A: Trial 1 - Detective Pokémon!

You all make your way back to the laboratory in the center of town. As you enter, the doors shut. You hear a loud click behind you, and you see the Professor facing you all, with a stern look on her face.

"It has come to my attention that there are rumors about you new trainers. People are saying that it must have been one of you who committed the crime. Honestly, I couldn't care less. But, since the people of this town look up to me, I have been forced to take action."

"My action is this: You all know where you went during the night. You all know what you learned during your 'vigilant' investigations. Figure it out among yourselves who might have done this."

"Until you all come to a conclusion, I'm forced to keep you all in my lab here. The door is locked, so no one leaves and no one enters."

"I'll be here for a while. Well, we all will. So, let's just get along and do our best! . . ."

. . . this is gonna be a long debate.

Takuya steps up to the plate. "Alright, everyone. Let's start out by recalling we each did last night, when Racheal was attacked by Team Despair.

I started out at Chest 2 with Aragi, Isabelle, Minako, and Morgiana. There was a big fight over who got what was inside first. Minako, Isabelle and I were all on the ground while Morgiana escaped, and Aragi ended up taking a Soul Dew from inside the chest.

Then I went to the Well and saw a Pancham that was probably Daku's. It attacked me and knocked me out.

And then I stayed knocked out.

And I was still knocked out.

Then I started waking up and still couldn't see anything.

At last, I was fully awake and saw Daku reading storybooks with his partner. Two coins landed on my head for some reason or another, and that hurt a lot too.

So yeah, I ended up getting thrashed a lot last night. Still, you guys must've seen something. What was your night like? I know we can find the truth behind what happened to our friend if we work together."

Mindy also gives her alibi for the night.

"Action 1: I decide to spend the day with Akumu Tsukiakari, being Absol trainers. We both go to the Garden first. We’re both string by some bees! Ouch!
Action 2: The two of us go to the Food Mart. There, both of us are robbed of all your money! I only notice after the fact.
Action 3: Akumu decides to leave me, and I go to Chest 1. There is nothing inside.
Action 4: I head to the Town Alley to look for someone else to hang out with. No one else comes.
Action 5: I decide to head home for the night, and ponder about being a Pokemon trainer.
Action 6: I'm still at home for the night, getting an early sleep." Scratch that, the cafe."

"Allow me to provide you all with my alibi for the night:

Before anything else, I dashed to one of the Chests in the forest. Specifically, Chest 2. It was there that I witnessed an atrocity: Takuya, Aragi, Minako and Morgiana seemed to be interested in this chest too. An interest that, it seems, transcends normal bounds. There was kicking, punching and... a magic trick that I'd rather forget." Isabelle shudders, but continues on, "In any case, I can confirm that Aragi was the lucky one who got the item in the chest. It was some sort of blue orb - probably useless without a specific Pokémon."

Taking a breath, she begins the rest of her speech, "I ran as fast as I could to Chest 3 to no success. Whatever was in there had already been stolen. I took my time walking to the Abandoned Hut, where I saw Kanaji and the lucky Aragi. I played with my darling Rockruff before heading out again."

"To the Cafeteria I went, in hopes of curing the status ailment of Hunger. Someone had unfortunately left their Snorlax right at the entrance, preventing myself and Morgiana from entering. Feeling bitter at so many failures during the night, I went to the Garden to ease my mind. There were quite a few flowers missing. And finally, I headed off to the Town Plaza and slept while my party guarded me. No one came by."

Isabelle clears her throat when her mighty speech is done. "Does anyone have any questions, or was my foolproof alibi not enough?"

Veigar closed his eyes for a brief reflection and then directed his gaze to the others. With dramatic effect, he made a motion with his arm that threw back his cape.

"Let us hasten our proceedings. Though I do not exactly believe that one among us is the guilty party...

When night fell, I went to the area surrounding the Second Chest in secret, hiding among the shadows cast by the trees. There, I witnessed Takuya, Aragi, Isabelle, Minako, and Morgiana engaging in a free-for-all over who reaps the rewards. The skirmish concluded with Aragi's claiming of the blue treasure contained within. I then remained there in the darkness lest anyone else approach to investigate the missing treasure. Thinking it was clear, I was about to leave my hiding place when Rebanam came around, so I remained in stealth as to not ruin my fiendish plot... After he had departed, I took my chance to hide in the chest and closed the lid, awaiting any unsuspecting visitors to scare them as an incredible jest. My detailed planning yielded nothing, unfortunately, as no one came around to open it. At least I had my obedient Cho'Cast for poor company in that confined darkness...

For my searches, there were few signs of activity in the Garden. Blue and white flowers were missing, and the ground was recently watered. As for the Food Mart, many berries were missing. The crowd around mentioned that a robbery occurred during the previous night, as well as someone having passed out.

That is all that I know of."

He bowed and stood to the side.

Binca then stood up. And twisted her cap

 "I'm sorry to say but My night was actually pretty... Lonely, But I do have some speculation..."

 She then smiled
"First I was with My little bunch of sunshine, Snowberry! I decided to tell him some stories about my family. Having a pokemon actually feels nice.. It's like having a buddy for when no one is around for ya. I don't regret getting one... Anyways I was also with Daku, his partner, Gave me this weird look. and it creeped me out to where I decided to get up and leave"

 "I then walked into professor's lab... To no surprise she immediately kicked me out."

 "After that I went along the river. And this totally cute Oddish was sleeping! I didn't want to wake him up so I left him there to rest. No one else showed up with me"

" I stayed along the trail and found the river! Thats where I then saw magikarp swimming around. It was peaceful. No one was there either"

" Then.... The abandoned hut, I walked in and saw Minako Koyama, Hokoto Ito, Racheal Kirkland, Shirokuma Rebanam, and Yume Hoshimi. Shirokumi seems to have fallen asleep. The rest of us start to look around. We noticed weird things along there. A broken TV... Rusty bike, Some pokeballs and...... Pokemon heads?!"

 She quivered " They were mounted on the wall... The sight of it almost made me puke, It was awfull! Who could do something like that to poor pokemon?! Those are the real monsters!"

 "After trying to keep my guts inside my body I walked over to the well and only saw Michi Suzuki. So We both tossed a coin into the well. Thats when I heard someone say "Ow" Deep in the well"

She then plays with her hair "As for what I investigated... I went to the river trail and noticed that water was splashed out of the edge of the river. As if someone who fell in, got out"

"Racheal was alive during (Action 5) So my thoughts are... As soon as everyone left the hut the killer must've struck!"

"Binca, would you clarify where you were at for the first hour of the evening?"

"Assuming that Binca is telling the truth and considering our curfew, Rachel was murdered at the field on the sixth hour of night... or at least her decapitation was there. Her body was then dragged back to the hut after the law abiding citizens went back home and this scene set up."

"Wait, I was inside the Well?" Takuya's epiphany. "No wonder I couldn't see a thing. Jeez, that was a rougher night than I thought." He looks to Morgiana next. "There's something about what you said that confused me though. What do you mean Racheal was murdered at the Field? We found her in the Abandoned Hut."

(OOC: I was never at the Abandoned Hut during Action 5 as Binca claimed and was a mistake on the part of the host.)



"My alibi for the night."

Action 1: "I first went to check out Chest 3 as soon as I got there, the ground was covered in ice. Then suddenly me and Kurobane (Espurr) got frozen to our waists. Then I saw a Vaporeon run through the ice and grab whatever it was in the chest and then it disappeared into the darkness. We then broke free from the ice."

Action 2: "I went to the Abandoned Hut and saw Kanaji there with his Vaporeon and Michi arrived there just after us. In the hut we found you find a dusty bike, a variety of different balls, a broken TV, and …. what appears to be various Pokemon heads, mounted to the wall... I also found a first aid kit and took one."

Action 3: "I went to the Lab and as soon as I got there, Prof. Spellcaster kicked me out. She also noted I was the 2nd person who walked into her lab."

Action 4: "I went to the Food Mart where I saw Storyteller buying some stuff."

Action 5: "I went to the Library and decided to read some books. Kanaji was also there checking out books in the 18+ section..."

Action 6: "Lastly I checked out the Walking Path with Flowers and decided to pick some flowers."



"Before I share my investigation. I would like to hear from Kiyo  his findings on the crime scene first."

"Following a blood trail, I found her head in the field. It seems that the trail starts there, so she was probably murdered in the field."

For Action 1, I went to the Food Mart, looking for food for my Pokemon. I saw the victim, Racheal Kirkland, browsing around as well. I bought enough berries to feed my entire Pokémon team.
Action 2: I head over to the Cafeteria. Unfortunately, the entrance was blocked by a large Snorlax, so I couldn't get in. The victim was outside here as well.
Action 3: At the Garden, I saw Morgiana as I let my Pokemon wander around. She seemed to be looking closely around at everything, then started to water the garden with a hose.
Action 4: Walking towards the Library, I saw Aragi Shouyo walk in with me. While I read, my Mimikyu messes up some of the books.
Action 5: I headed over to the Abandoned Hut. There, I saw Bianca Willow, Minako Koyama, Racheal Kirkland, Shirokuma Rebanam, and Yume Hoshimi. Shirokuma falls fast asleep right away. Everyone looked around. Amongst other items, we found a dusty bike, a variety of different balls, a broken TV, and …. what appears to be various Pokemon heads, mounted to the wall... My partner Mimikyu thrashes around and makes a huge mess of everything, destroying mostly everything.
Action 6: I walk over the the Bridge before anyone from the hut can yell at me, and you see your Munchlax fall into the river from the rush. Vibrava struggles to help him out, but eventually Munchlax is safely out

From our Alibi's, we can safely say that Rachel was murdered at Action 6, since she was still alive at Action 5.

Furthermore, there was a strange sensation when I was investigating the body. A bright light made it very hard to investigate, and it happened due to someone nearby. I think this person is our culprit, and was attempting to stop us from finding crucial evidence

I will tell you my Alibi.

On action 1, I was exploring the forest. I particularly remained in the field in the middle. I didn't see anybody.

On action 2, I arrived at the abandoned hut. I saw Kanaji and Yume arrive at the same time.

On action 3, I went to the supply mart, looking for anything cool. I saw Daku buy lots of fluffy things. I didn't end up buying anything.

On action 4, I went to the proffesor's lab, but she didn't let me in. She told me I was the third person to visit.

On action 5, I headed for the cafeteria, but the entrance was blocked by a Snorlax.

On action 6, I arrived at the well alongside Bianca. We threw a coin and heard someone say 'ouch!'

"Very well. I shall share my results. First when I investigated the inside of the hut, it was trashed though we already know that Ito's pokemon did it so it probably has nothing to do with the case. When I investigated the outside of the hut however. I found a bloody old knife sticking out on the stump near the body. I believe this was the weapon used to decapitate Racheal though it may not necessarily be the murder weapon. There was also a long blood trail near the body that seems to lead off towards the direction of the town. While investigating, I heard a loud noise coming from behind the hut. When I checked the back of the hut, it was littered with dozens of bear traps and crushed skeletons. Among them was a crushed Umbreon which I believed belonged to the victim. Its front half has been completely crushed but only the back half remains..."

"Oh, we're talking about our night now? alright the

At the start of the night i dashed right to where the 2nd Chest was and saw that Takuya, Isabelle, Minako, and Morgiana was also eyeing the prize, and somehow a battle happened and well i decided to stay back, Somehow i got the prize in the end

After that whole commotion i went to the Bridge and saw Inari fishing there while i play with my Pokemon

I then went to the Abandoned Hut, i arrived around the same time as Isabelle, i saw Kanaji looking around through some stuff

I went to the Library to read on what the Abandoned Hut used to be, it seems like it was an old Pokemon Hunter's shack. I also saw Hokoto there

Then i went to the Town Plaza to chill after some time i went to the Garden" Aragi scratch the back of his neck

"And as for my investigation, i found a blood trail from the Field, it seems to come from the near-by tall grass field and nothing much in the Bridge, and that's all"

For that bright light I mentioned earlier, we should think about the types that would be able to create a bright light.

The Fairy type is the most likely candidate, so whoever had a Fairy typing talent is capable of this ability.

That means the suspects are

-Me, although I didn't do it, my other typing is Ghost so I would have a different ability.

-Bianca Willow

-Takuya, but he has an Alibi.

-Isabelle, she has no Alibi for the majority of the day.

-Yume, the extra Psychic typing could also be linked to the ability

-Morgiana, as she also has the Steel typing which can be linked to the ability

Now we simply have to destroy the weakest alibi!

“Well...if what was claimed is true...that Rachael is killed in the Garden...then moved to the Hut...it...could be anyone right?”

“Anyone could try to temper with Investigation...and mostly the culprit was among the crime scene or body investigators...as far as we know..”

Inari paused

“Do you know..the source of the bright lights? Was it a flash? Or a continuous light?”
