Game 72 #2 Trial 3: Dark Deceit of Sorrow

You all proceed with the usual procedure. Conclude investigations, begin the discussions and survive. Weird how it became "normal" in your senses.
You all hear a soft voice.

"Good... luck... I am... watching... over you..."

Indeed. Mari´s presence can be sensed. Though it´s quite faint. And Mari´s voice sounds weak and breathless.


"Eh, I would have rather killed you all brutally by now... But the demands say otherwise. Get into the discussions, or else I really will finish all of your sorry lives off... Like your dear friends~"

Heading to the center of the Entrance area, you let the circle engulf the floor. It´s looking more menacing now. Like a sacrificial pentagram symbol. Nothing to do about it right now. You all start your usual "who dunnit" play with a heavy heart. (atleastthemosthumanofyou)

[Sara Soul]

Kanaya looked around at everyone, playing with the hem of her shirt. This was really their final chance. Well, here goes nothing...

"Alright...I believe we should discuss our results, if that's okay? I...investigated both of the bodies..."

"I found that the knife in Keliana's stomach was in real deep, and there was some markings from some type of sticky substance on the handle. He was tied down by his hands and feet, and seemed to be struggling as he partly freed himself. The soles of his shoes were slightly damaged as well. I believe it's obvious that he was in a fight with the killer, though...he obviously ended up losing...Lastly, in his pocket, there was a keychain that was glowing deep violet."

"For Aka'pale, I found that she was lying in a pool of blood with her throat cleanly slit, as she had very minor burns from the rope. Her forearms are covered in cuts, but surprisingly, they're not bleeding at all. They're just deep cuts that didn't bleed as much as one would expect...Maybe this is because the killer used an ability? I can't say for sure. Anyways, she had a deep cut on her cheek that was bleeding a lot. Her shoes seemed to be fine. It makes me suspicious to see it, comparing to her brother...He was struggling but she wasn't...hm..."

Kanaya stared into space, then looked down, depressed.

"It was so sad to see them like that...there were tear stains on both of their faces...they were crying in their last moments..."

[Misaki]

"Tch! Guess we have do this again huh..."

Sayo pauses before she continues.



"Alright. As for my investigations, The Incinerator Room and Souvenir shop didn't wield any evidence however from my investigation of the crime scene, I found that the door had been blocked by a cardboard box. There were also many cuts all over the walls. To the left of the room, there was big shelf filled with pill bottles and beside it, some pill bottles have been smashed to pieces and the glass shards have blood on them. A bottle of antiseptic seemed to have been used as well. There was also trash can on the right corner that had been knocked down and inside it were 2 used cloths, one of them had blood on them and some kind of medicine. On a small shelf to the right, there were pill bottles that seemed to have been moved. On closer examination, I found a bloody dagger hidden behind the bottles. The dagger seems to match the cuts on the walls and it has blood on its tip. I tried to find hand prints on it but it seems I can't really determine. I also found scuff marks on the floor near the bodies. A cardboard box filled with medicine was also found beside Keliana's body there was chewing gum stuck on the ceiling right above Keliana. And that was my investigation"

Sayo then takes another pause before continuing.



"Now based on Sara's report on the bodies, I can deduce that the sticky substance on the knife on Keliana was probably chewing gum and that it had been stuck on the ceiling and the killer probably used the cardboard box to attach the knife onto the ceiling which later fell on Keliana. The dagger found on shelf was probably the weapon used to kill Aka. As it would appear at the moment, this seems to have been a murder suicide as it was committed in a locked room which means only Keliana or Aka could have done it. If this were the case then I would likely suspect Aka to have killed Keliana then killed herself as she didn't show any signs of a struggle. The two also seemed to dislike each other which could have been a possible motive. While this seems like the most plausible scenario, there are still some things that don't add up to me and further evidence is needed before we come to a conclusion. As such. I'd like everyone else to present their findings."

[Alucard]

"My night was extremely uneventful when it comes to alibi's. I have just been looking for plot, and didn't meet very many people."

"Regarding my investigation, the stage doesn't appear every useful. Some rope was taken but that seems unrelated to the case. I also checked the kitchen and found out that a cup of tea was smashed on the floor. From the tuddle of tea to the fridge, there are two sets of footprints. At the table there are 2 empty plates with crumbs, and 2 empty cups with teabags. The flavour is Strawberry. A pack of chewing gum is missing too and a knife was taken during another night before this one."

[Cathell Ward]

Right...My investigation turned up very little, my investigation of the Penguin Area turned up nothing...nothing in the slightest, however...when I checked the dorm areas...I found a hairclip by Aka'pales dorm. But that would be it. *He sighs* Now, in terms of my movements throughout the night...Im certain I was with somebody...mainly Lotus, the entire night. I must say as well...not too bad of a kick, had me going for a moment. *He grins at lotus* Although...when I went to the control room, I found a note, with a lightblue keychain on it...
*He folds his arms, and as per expected says his line*
So...any questions?

[Maria]

My night was...Well, it was definitely different. 

My first action was to punch Kuroko again. After what he did, he deserves a death penalty, but punching feels pretty good too. Unfortunately, the little bastard got away. After he got away I went with Aka'pale and Cathell to the Tunnel Tank. Aka'pale headed to the dorm area after that. 

Soon, Cathell pulled a damn knife out on me! He even had the gal to threaten me!

I tried to attack him out of self defense but he managed to dodge it and grab me. I managed to hear glass breaking from the shop and someone passed by. I didn't managed to get a look at who it was though. I managed to kick Cathell in the stomach but he had a tight grip on me. He ended up dragging me to the Tunnel Tank. 

The Tunnel Tank was a mess. It had been smashed, to get an entrance into the tank, which was all empty for water. The floor was wet and everything was red. Sayo and Jay were fighting against some weird creatures before they were joined by Cathell. 

Obviously, I just stood with Theodore and Kanaya and watched. I wasn't going to get involved in something like that. They looked like idiots! 

Jay and Saya eventually left. Kanaya and and Theodore left after watching a bit more too. After, Cathell and I went to the Aquarium Stage. Cathell went into the control room and I stayed. After that, I simply went to bed. 

My investigations didn't provide anything useful. People took some items from the Main Aquarium Area, but nothing of note. The Shop was also a mess. There was key chains everywhere and glass was smashed. The key chain rack had been knocked over. 

And that's it. That's everything. 

[Jay Braavs]

"My crime scene investigation was the same as Sayo's. And the shop didn't reveal anything new either. Besides a knocked-over keychain rack. Sheesh. There were broken keychains everywhere.

"As for last night, at least I can say that Sayo, Kuroko, and Jatoro are innocent."

[Sara Soul]

"Ah, if we're giving our alibi's, I can give mine now. I basically spent the entire night with Theodore. Let's see..."

Kanaya thought for a moment, then looked at everyone and started explaining.

"1 - I had went to Penguin Area once more to go and explore. Before I could leave, however, I saw Lotus turn around and try to punch Kuroko, but he dodged her attack. We all then left for Penguin Area, excluding Aka'pale, Lotus, and Cathell. Theodore and I stayed in the area, while Kuroko went to heading into the main aquarium and Sayo, Jotaro, and Keliana went to the aquarium stage. Theodore and I explored the place, however, it remained to be unchanged. That's when we heard the familiar noise of a machine.

2 - Theodore and I were obviously curious as to where that noise was coming from, so we followed the sound and ended up in Tunnel Tank; Sayo and Jotaro there. We saw that the water was in violent movement again; The tank so far was half empty and was still decreasing. The poor fish were swimming about in panic!

3 - I wanted to stop the water from decreasing, so I went to the Control Room; Theodore following. We didn't pass by anyone as we walked over there. We immediately noticed a pulled lever when we got there, so I put it back in place and the noises from the machine stopped. 

4 - I wanted to see what had happened to the water in Tunnel Tank, so Theodore and I went back there without passing by anyone. The place had been smashed; The floor wet and red, and the entire tank had been emptied. I saw Sayo and Jay in the empty tank and they were fishing against the angry sea creatures. Cathell suddenly joined the two; Him and Lotus were standing inside the tunnel before. Theodore, Lotus, and I watched the three fight the poor creatures. Sayo and Jay ran off after to who knows where and left Cathell alone.

5/6 - I didn't want to watch the fight any longer, so I left with Theodore and we went to the kitchen. Once again, we didn't pass by anyone. When we got there, we saw that the place was slightly a mess. There were 3 cups of strawberry tea that had already been made, but one had been shattered on the floor and made a large stain. I went to the refrigerator and got out a pumpkin pie. Theodore and I sat down and happily ate it. That's when I thought that maybe the strawberry tea would go nicely with it?
I took a cup and so did Theodore, and we both gave it a sip. Fortunately, it wasn't poisoned or drugged this time! It was actually very good, besides being a little bitter. We happily enjoyed it with the pie. After that, we went to our dorms and went to sleep."

"That was basically my entire night."

[Alucard]

I believe everything used in the murder was in the room meaning that it could have been one of the victims. (This is excluding the rope which had no real meaning as far as I can tell.) It is also true that almost everyone has an alibi for the night. The lack of bleeding on Aka'pale might have been because of the medication. Antiseptic was used and there are bloody rags in the bin. This means that it would have to have been Keliana. 

It is also true that Keliana died through a mechanism that involved a seperate set-up, which makes me think "why would you?" Well, him being the killer would explain that question too. This is the knife falling on him by chewing gum on the ceiling. What if he needed time to get himself tied on the floor.

The fact that Keliana was tied but "partly freed himself" is a flashback to a DR2 case everyone should recognise. (Without spoiling it) If he was partly free, what if he was actually almost entirely tied but couldn't complete it without help.

I don't know how well a simple cardboard box blocks off a door but if we have to believe the investigation from Sayo, I believe it was Keliana. I should mention that the gum was missing in the kitchen. The same kitchen where apparently two people enjoyed a nice cup of tea. two people huh?

[Sara Soul]

"If you think we're the ones who took the gum, we didn't."

Kanaya looked over at Kuroko.

"We only enjoyed tea and pie togther in the kitchen. No one ever came in, either. I believe the gum was taken before we went in there. Most likely by one of the twins."

She looked over at everyone next.

"Also, I would like to say: In the files we were given, it states that it's unclear whether Aka'pale was killed first or Keliana was killed first. I believe that if we figure out who was killed first, we can figure out which one of them did it; If they did it at all. And...I believe I know a certain someone who could help us out with this."

She glances over at Theodore, but does not say anything further.

[Oliver Kirkland]

"I believe we do have a killer. And it can not be one of the victims. Because with my skill, Aka'pale was killed before Keliana, so Aka'pale would be crying as she found her brother all tied up and was murdered in front of him, so when the killer starts moving towards him, he fought back, hoping to avenge his sister's death. But ends up dead. If it was the other way around where Keliana was killed in the 5th action, then I would have seen Aka'pale taking her life, but I can not see it the other way around. And the deep cuts on her arms could have been done by the killer because once the heart stops, the blood flow doesn't continue, so Aka'pale would have done deep cuts, making it look like she tried to end her life." He stated as he munches on some candy.

[Misaki]

"hmm...Well Kuroko's theory seems to be the most plausible but yet I still can't help but feel something just isn't right here and that we're missing something..."

Sayo then turns to Theodore.

"So you claim that neither of the victims could have been killer? If that's the case then how do you explain how the killer got out the room with the cardboard box blocking the door? I actually examined the box and the door more closely but I didn't find anything unusual that would suggest a trick was involved. The box was also an average size and filled with medicine bottles. Now unless we can find an explanation as for how the killer got out the room, It could have only have been Keliana or Aka."

[Yuri (Silentking)]

"The missing rope was actually taken by the Prince. I saw him take it while I was grabbing a hammer to break the tunnel wall on the request of Sayo. I investigated the stage, kitchen, and crime scene but everyone already said what I found. As for my alibi, except for my first action I was with Sayo, Kuroko, and Jay the whole time. We were investigating another trap door."
