Considering how you were enemies a day ago, the pirates seem oddly amicable. They wander about in a dream like state, not fully aware of their surroundings. When asked, Drexas explains that they had a shard of water infused aetherium which opened a passage to the city when they crossed the boundary between twilight and midnight. For them, they dove into the sea at dusk and returned at midnight. However, they accidentally wandered to the palace at other times as well. They just aren't quite sure how.
