"There... That's what I was looking for. Some of the soldiers reported feeling that after they'd recovered.
Why did he test it on high ranking members? His goal, I believe, was testing how powerful the 'mind control' would be. I'm sure there's a better term, but stick with me for now. He wished to test how vulnerable they would be to new ideas being planted in their heads. If he had to do that directly, it'd draw less suspicion.
Put it this way: Would it be stranger for the King to speak in private with a Lieutenant, or a rank-and-file? It was to reduce the risk of him being caught.
When he spoke later of 'spice being the answer', I believe he was still intending on perfecting the substance further. I'm not sure the effect it would have had - I'm not an alchemist - and the few pages that remain probably don't have much on that issue."
Wizarmon looks through the relevant pages one more time for spice, or catalysts of any sort that may make the runes innately stronger. Though he suspects it's probably with the actual removed pages.
"Brie, before you leave this room, I want to do a full investigation of your person. While you're suspicious that we may be planting evidence, I'm equally concerned that you might have hidden some of your discoveries from us in an attempt to defend the King."
"It looks like Biyomon's 'concoction' theory was correct after all. My, he will hold that over my head for quite some time... Alas, better to be proven right than wrong in this situation, I think. Let's see, some other notes..."
"Proudmore - that is Princess Diana's maiden name, is it not? I wonder if she has any belongings of this old Professor on her estate. They may be long gone by now, but she and I are on good terms. No doubt she'll look for me."
"I do not think everything I need for incriminating evidence can be found in this book. There must be other things dotted around this room. A physical journal, some sort of... alchemy pot where the King is putting this knowledge to use? There is a lot I do not know still, and that worries me. I'm grateful to still have you here, Uncle Almond. You put my mind at rest."
Wizarmon bows to his uncle, then carefully looks through more of the King's belongings. He bends down to look inside the fireplace, and then looks through the King's clothing drawers. He pulls on every book on the bookshelf in case one of them opens a secret passage, and then he feels around the walls for a button disguised as a brick that might possibly give way.
