It’s a typical Thursday at Lived inc.
The only good corporation, by the people, for the people, to make everyday lives better for everyone.
This is, typically through the use of insanely invasive and annoying technology with numerous ethical concerns as well as many pending lawsuits.
Sorry, did I say "Good"? I meant, "Normal"
But let's not concern ourselves with that shall we? This story isn't about those lame ass existential horrors, it's about real ass horror! Cheesy, 2000's, satanic panic-tinged horror!
Ding! An elevator arrives on the 13th floor of Lived Inc.
Six people are about to enter an elevator together, strangers who just finished a day of work.

Who are they?
Rules
This is a shortish, (Maybe a week?) loosey goosey death game that will be ran and narrated by me. Think of me as the DM, but everything will be purely vibes based rather than mechanical.
Focus on telling trying to tell a fun story rather than trying to win. This is a tragedy. There will be no winners, there will be no losers. But perhaps there will be survivors? ... Mayhaps.

You can also imagine this as a more RP focused version of Mafia, if you want.
Saying something such as “My character will perform X” will result in a post from me, eventually, narrating what happens. You can do whatever you want, but I am the arbiter of what is reasonable for your character to do or not. Sometimes I may roll a dice to decide an outcome, sometimes I will just decide it myself. If you’re wondering “how does death work?” Well, how does death in real life work, silly? If you stab somebody with a knife in the heart, they’ll probably die! Humans are fragile! Doesn’t mean the attempt will succeed necessarily, but if you provide a clever enough way to approach somebody with a weapon, or have the support of at least over half the other players, it will probably succeed.
Hidden actions can be attempted by shooting me a message on discord, but whether it stays hidden will be at my discretion. If I think it’d lead to fun drama, your action may be spotted by another player, or may catastrophically fail and reveal itself to everybody. (I.e. you try to pickpocket a way watch off another player, and it goes clattering to the ground). You are in an elevator, after all.
The central mystery your characters should be trying to solve is “Why are people dying and what can we do to stop it?” Murder Mysteries tricks may naturally pop up, but considering the setting I'm promising nothing in that regard. It may just be several stabbings. You as a player may immediately jump to demonic possession as the culprit, but your characters will likely assume a human culprit before reaching that conclusion. (Also, don’t discount the possibility that I’m a tricky bitch and that the culprit might be a human just to subvert expectations!)

Signups
Pre-existing character or OC’s are both allowed, but please stick to powerless humans (You can flavor them however you want to make them fit in though, you can roleplay like Bakugo as an ordinary officer worker, if you really want)
Public signups should include pronouns, and something that best describes your character in appearance for the sake of narration early on. I.E. "The Dorky Man" (You cannot be the Dork. I am the Dork.) If anybody gives out their name or it becomes public, the narration will change to account for it.

After you sign up, please contact me these privately:
- Your characters first and last name
- A reason to be in Lived Inc. This will form as sort of your backstory. You can be an office worker, a boss, a contractor, anything reasonable that puts you on the 13th floor of an office building on a Thursday. Probably not children, though. On the whole you won’t know each other, but each of you will have one character that you can recall a vague detail about. (I.e. oh, that’s Linda, I think she works in marketing, but we haven’t talked)

- A dark secret that your character holds, and absolutely cannot let people find out about. Nothing too edgy please, discuss with me if you think it’s on the line. This should be something that reasonably could have ruined somebodies life, to create a web of interconnected backstories. I.e. “I once found a suitcase full of thousands of dollars in the park and took it!” It can be as vague as this, anything deeper than that can be explored and made up on the spot if it comes up through RP. Deaths are of course fair game because this is DRG, but I'd recommend that if you caused a death, it should have been an accident. You are not THE killer, after all. At least, you don't think so, as you enter the elevator. But if you want to be an unrelated murderer that just happens to also be present, I won't shoot that down!
- One weapon and three other miscellaneous items that your character has on their person, and where they are. Once again these should be somewhat reasonable for an ordinary person to have, or at least have a backstory explanation. (No Remington Bolt-Action Rifles, please)
