Prismed Rim - Printing Press

A) Manufacture printing presses across the Kingdom to be used by the masses.

Much to the dismay of the King, the council elects to provide printing presses to the masses. This goes about as well as anyone would expect: literacy rates improve across the kingdom, but dissenting opinions soar. The Prismed Rim seems to be doing quite well for themselves with this boost in exports, and the man who was once just a humble blacksmith is now living a life of luxury.

The other alliances are less than pleased with the Prismed Rim's improved prosperity. Typical.

United States of Azulongmon - An Unusual Request

B) Order the Cactus Man to return the dead giant to its homeland.

(Defiance +1 [USA], Defiance -1 [PS, PR])

The council orders the Cactus Man to return the dead giant to its homeland. In spite of many tantrums, he eventually relents, and his import is returned to the Northern Wastes from whence it came.

Prince Casimir generously offers two alternatives: to use the royal palace to host the spice festival, or the royal craftsmen to recreate the giant rib cage. Shall either one be accepted? Shall the Cactus Land be making any declarations based on the decision of the council? Let us find out...

“So much of my pubwic speeches in the past few months wewe about the bownes… It was the main focus of at weast 60% of the speeches… *sniff*! They alweady hate me for outlawing intewcouwse… This will be a disastew…”

He waddles up to the prince and tugs at his sleeve.

“Umm… Pwince Casmiwe? Could we make the wecweation of the bones but just… not tell anybody in my kingdom? Pwetty pwease?”

Prince Casimir chooses to ignore that first part.

"I reckon my craftsman can build a replica so flawless that not even you will be able to tell the difference!"

"Of course, it will need to be funded. Do you think you can secure 500 gold between yourself and your allied territories?"

[Doing this will result in -1 Faith for Cactus Land and +1 Stability for the Kingdom, and most importantly it will mean the Cactus Land gets to have their Spice Festival]

The cactus, frustrated by how slow moving his own alliance is, sets up a tip box in the middle of the table.

To whichever alliance wins, he promises to repay the favor in in the future. If you believe his word, considering he just admitted to being a liar.

Achlys steps up and clears her throat loudly, indicating that she'd like to speak. This is such an unusual move from the Baroness, who usually flies under the radar, that several people stop and look at her. She hates that. 

"I have an announcement to make. This is hard to say, but ..."

"North Ultima has come to the difficult decision that we would achieve more prosperity as a member of the United States of Azulongmon. As such, we are formally requesting a place in their alliance. We offer our top-tier military force, the pride of North Ultima, to be at the service of the alliance."

"As for the members of Provincia Smaragdina, I apologize to you all for blindsiding you today. To show that there are no hard feelings, I will agree to share in the funding of Cactus Land's spice festival."

Achlys nods her head towards the Council of Chaos, trying to make meaningful eye contact with all three of them at once. 

"I do regret the circumstances of your departure from Provincia Smaragdina. I admit, I was ... blinded by the idea of a spice festival. I cannot go another winter with unseasoned meat."

"I see now that I should have brought more sensitivity to this topic. Obviously the giant bones were unnecessary, and now I find myself wondering what giant bones have got to do with spices in the first place. I will wholeheartedly support a ban on the use of giant bones from here on out."

"I deeply apologize to the three of you, and to your people, and I hope that we will have occasion to repair the relations between our territories in the near future."
