The other symptoms, hmm ... well, if heated, Despairium would suffocate you by coating your lungs, which sounds like a pretty agonizing death to me. But Despairium only takes 5 minutes to kill, and I think you were in there for longer than that. Plus, there wasn't any Despairium missing from the lab, and also, it's a black gas while the one you saw was purple. So, I think maybe the recording was lying. There was probably no Despairium. And there definitely isn't a chemical that turns your brain to mush! 

"Hmm. Back to Ada's question, there is a chemical that can cause hallucinations and temporary insanity! It's called Komaedium. It's also a purple gas. But it would only behave like that if it were heated and mixed with either Despairium or Hopium. Umm ... actually, there was a sample of Hopium missing from the lab, and two samples of Komaedium. So ... unless someone wants to cop to borrowing these ... I'm afraid the purple gas could have been partially Komaedium. Which means ... I don't know if Aqua's testimony is reliable anymore ..."

"Hmm, I'm not sure if any other chemicals are relevant. Maybe Yasuhirinite ... it can cause auditory hallucinations if heated. Er ... did anyone else check that this tape recorder actually exists, and says the words that Aqua claims it did? ... Sorry, Aqua ... I don't mean to doubt you ... but it's all part of the game!"

Yuki beams and claps her hands. "This is such a neat game! Maybe I should pay more attention in forensic science! It's so cool how they made up a victim for us to investigate!"

"Uh, yuki?  I know Kabuto took chemicals from the lab. I'd like some information on that. Though, Professor O'kuma mentioning a time machine... that does seem pretty nuts.

Also, I examined this, and that's a real human body. I saw that body in the lab, so I think I can tell."

*She thinks.* "Kabuto, canst thou shine through the barrier of thine chemical comparison?"

Yuki giggles. "Yeah, the body in the lab is real. I meant that Rantaro isn't real! I never even met him! He's just a pretend student that the professor made up for this game!

"Come on, think about it. Would the professor really let anything terrible happen to a student? Especially when we're on holiday? Bad things can't happen on holidays!"

Pleased with her logic, Yuki leans back and crosses her arms.

"Finishing up what else I found in the bathroom. Of the three stalls, one was unused--the middle one. The other... well I threw up in it after Rantaro died. "The paper towel dispenser had an indent in it, likely caused by the key I mentioned finding there. There were two blood stains: the center of the room where he originally died and where I moved him."

"There was still poisonous gas in the room, but with the door open it wasn't fatal anymore. Unpleasant though." He coughs again. "Did I miss anything Ajax?"

"Ah, and also, thank you for standing up for me."

"Huh..?" Ajax cocked his head to the side. "We found the recorder inside the vent though, didn't we? Which is a little odd since wouldn't the vent need to be closed for the smoke trap to work? Well... I guess if it was loud enough it wouldn't matter. Not sure how relevant that is, but the rest all sounds right. The recorder was set to play the message about an hour after placing it."


As the group turned to the subject of the smoke, he chimed in again. "There was still some smoke left while we were searching. It was indeed bright purple and made me feel dizzy, though it was starting to filter out." As he listened to the other's statements, a particular point stood out to him. "And... oh! Good point, Ada! How did someone know the exact time that Rantaro and Aqua would be in the bathroom? He didn't ask you to meet up or anything, right? You both just happened to be at the... ah... wrong place, wrong time? It sounds like the plan would require at least two people to be trapped in the bathroom. But that's a lot of effort to set up a trap with no guarantee when people will need to pee or if they would go at the same time." His head still felt like it was spinning.

"Milly and I both have master keys. I got them from the janitors before everyone else left for the school holiday. But I also have a few extra keys for specific rooms; those are kept in a drawer in my desk in the Teacher's Lounge. Still, sure, I can show you this."

He reaches into the breast pocket of his lab coat and pulls out a key, which he shows to everyone in the room.

"And Milly has hers too. She would have needed it to unlock the door at the top of the stairs to this floor. If she didn't have it on her, you wouldn't be here."

”Well, if we’re to trust the Professor’s statement, then it’s enough proof to say someone worked with him to set up the trap. I scanned over the Teacher’s Lounge while we were investigating, and I found that the drawers to his desk were locked. That means he’d have had to unlock the drawer for the culprit to get a key to the Male Bathroom.”

Yuki appears to think of something. 

"Oh! Didn't Ada say before that she saw some green goop after Kabuto had been in the lab? I know what that is! That's Tenkonite! It's a poison that's only toxic to males! And there were two of them taken from the lab! So, Kabuto's concoction was at least partly made of Tenkonite ...

"What else was missing? Let's see, we already talked about Kirigirium, Komaedium, and Hopium. There was a sample of Yasuhirinite missing too - I told you guys about that, too. 

"Other than that, there were two Irumite samples missing. It's a white or pink liquid that makes other chemical effects stronger ... I guess that could have been used with anything ...

"Oh, and a Rantarinium sample was gone too. When it's heated, it gives energy to other chemicals, so that they can keep their heated properties for longer. You know, like how Kirigirium is only a toxic gas when it's heated! And when you cool Rantarinium to a solid powder, it's supposed to be a good luck charm. 

"Ha ha, Rantarinium is such a funny name. It sounds just like Rantaro. Doesn't this prove that Rantaro is a made-up 'victim'? Hee hee ... you guys take games so seriously ..."

"Well I guess it's time for me to share my alibi"

A1: "Started in Student Room with Yuki, Mei and Yuya. Yuya wanted to play Avalon with us but we didn't have enough players so Mei went out to look for more players and she eventually came back with Aqua and Ajax after about 20 mins and then I excused myself and headed out to Lab Room B where I passed Ada along the way. Once in Lab Room B. I decided to make a ghost costume and then waited for someone to come in to scare them but no one came."

A2: "I waited a few more mins until someone did eventually enter who was Mary so I scared her and chased her all the way to the Female Bathroom where she locked herself in a stall. I left her alone and then moved on to Student Room B where I saw Viola all alone playing her cello. I ran over to her and scared the living daylights out of her which caused her to fall into a fetal position. I tried to scare her some more but I became bored so I just munched on a bag of potato chips.

A3: "I left the room in seach for more victims and I came across Halara, Ada, and the Enoshima sisters who came from the Parking Lot. I scared them all and they all scattered with Ada heading up the hallway while Halara and the sisters retreated to Lab Room B. I enter Student Room A and found Ajax all alone so I scared him and then threw candies at him. Then suddenly Ada came in and tackled me and I was exposed. We just stared at each and spoke for bit after that."

A4: "Ada and Ajax leave the room and then I set to work on my next prank. I was preparing a bucket water with some red food coloring which I originally intended to set on the door and was also preparing a pie. But then Viola came in so I changed my plans a bit and then instead I snuck up behind them and dumped the red water on her and threw the pie at her face. It was funny at first but then I came to regret my actions so I apologized to her and we both made up."

A5: "Halara comes in the room and asked what happened and I explained to her that it was a prank gone wrong. Viola leaves and I also leave soon after heading to the courtyard. Along the way I pass Ajax and Arthur who were heading further down the hallway I came. I make it to the Courtyard where I Milly and confess to all my sins I committed tonight. Then we heard the body announcement."

"Yeah, I think we can agree that Ada looks the most likely for the trap. No other unwitting accomplices... Just the two caught in the blackened's trap, and Professor O'Kuma. We need a little more on the chemicals, but... yeah, all good."

Yuki looks very uncomfortable at Kabuto's intense questioning. "Er ... not exactly. Well! Maybe Sturmhutinite does exist! I'm sure something that cool has to exist somewhere! Our lab just never has any in stock because, well, it's so popular that everyone wants it!"

"Hey, wait! Weren't you in Lab Room A half the night? You should know all about this already!"

"Now, tell me what you did with the chemicals! It's not fair to withhold information when we're playing as a team! I answered your question and explained all this confusing chemistry! You owe me an explanation of your own chemistry experiments!"

"It looks like this is on the test. And I'm not sure what the standards for failure are... We'd better get this right. Kabuto, reveal your machinations, and we will be grateful for your motion in slaying the barrier before us..."

Miguel Offenbarung Dunkelheit suddenly took over, and when I was finally able to regain control of my body, an ominous black hole had appeared on the floor and Gaap, the demon with the power of teleportation, was floating above it! I immediately ran away, but when I was back, I mustered up all my power to summon Ronove, but, but... Gaap assaulted me. I had to dodge ten attacks per second as I completed the circle of summoning, and I must have made a mistake. In Ronove's place, a worthless vessel named Sakutaro showed up. He was no match for a demon on Gaap's level, and she immediately stole ownership of the recently summoned furniture. Once again, I had to retreat. I have no information on the circle Miguel used to summon Gaap."

"But it was green, and it had been bubbling on the floor, that I know for sure!"
