Mini Trial #103 - Green Biker Dude's Highway to Heck (Trial)

[Ktoasty]

"Hello, everyone. It's me, Metroman. The super robot hero." Metroman does his classic Metro pose.

"My time trapped in the jungle factory has been quite electrifying. You might even say literally. It all started when Sigma's announcement played..." The hero looks up to the skies as a flashback begins.

"I was in the Recharge Station with Data at the time. He wound up electrifying himself for a solid five seconds before I rescued him. In a surprising turn of events, the damage he sustained was able to restore power to the building, but in a hallucinogenic frenzy, Data ran out of the room almost immediately.

I followed Data to the Assembly Line area to ensure his safety, when Green biker guy raced passed us on his bike in a speedy green blur. Cutman came in from the direction of the Robot Hangar, and together we were able to catch Data. The three of us decided to shut off the power again in hopes of restoring Data's health. When we went back, I shot an eyelaser as the biggest wire I could see, but that just made the entire factory start to run in reverse!

Pretty much all of us met in the Assembly Line area to figure out how to stop the factory's self-destruction. Gutsman and I had the ability of super robot strength, so we took on the task of clearing out any rubble going backwards on the Assembly Line.

An object with a peculiar shine caught my attention, so I asked Gutsman to handle my share of the work for a moment while I investigated. I found a giant block of ice was coming from the Heating&Cooling Room into the Assembly Line area via the assembly line, so I melted it with my robot laser vision to get a better look. Just as I was about to find out what it was, the assembly line halted, and it immediately changed from reverse direction to hyper-speed forward direction. The melted object was thrust forward along the line back into the Heating&Cooling Room, but I barely caught a familiar green body in the remnants of the melted ice.

That's when a huge explosion went off. With my super robot hearing, I could sense it was very close to where I was standing in the Assembly Line area. That's where my story ends, and we all met up to find out who committed this dastardly deed."

"Im concerned about this part. Pretty much all of us. Does anyone know who was missing? Was Green Bike Dude here during this time? If not, I suspect this is a major time in the night of when the bad guy struck."

"Please have someone verify your presence for this action, and if you can verify Green thatd be great too. I can verify Metro Man much like he verified me."

"Beep Boop. Very well, if we must go through this, I will share my whereabouts for the evening. Perhaps this will shed some light. 

"I started my night in Quality Assurance. Gutsman went to Programming, and Green went north. As I descended the old stairs, the broke, and I ended up on the conveyer belt.

"I was unable to leave the belt, as my skirt had unfortunately been caught. Thankfully, Green returned and saved me. Axl entered, albeit after the rescue.

"I then noticed the lines changing direction. This was not up to protocol, so I went with Axl to try and solve the issue. Green swiftly zoomed past us, nearly running me over in the process. 

"At the assembly line, Cutman and I were sent to fix the factory's power. The fusebox was shut with duct tape, which Cutman swiftly took care of. I fixed it, or at least it seemed so for a second. Suddenly, everything was going... much too fast. There wasn't much time to think on that though, as that's when the explosion went off.

"My idea is that whoever caught Green of guard reversed the conveyor belt and caused the factory malfunction and blew up Green."

"I started out by trying to find an anti-virus to use on the maverick when we find them but no luck. Then Green came by on his bike. After Green left everything came on and someone else entered unsure who but anyways, I couldn't find anything through the searching then Green came around a 3rd time then the conveyor reserved. During the meeting I was tasked with cleaning up the rubble when the explosion went off.

That's the reason for the ice. I stopped the heat coming out of the room, so whoever did this made the conveyor head back and forth to freeze green, then set something off in the armory. Either the explosion or the deep freeze took out green biker dude... starting from when he was on the conveyor. I think green was on the conveyor when it reversed... it's the only way to explain that "big chunk of ice." Pallette, does anything in the armory match up with that explosion?

"There's a variety of explosives available in the Armory - as well as a bunch of other weapons. That's probably where Sigma plans to supply the new generation of Mavericks from. I'm not sure specifically what was used for the explosion, but unless you can come up with a better idea, it was probably from there."

"Alia, can you give information on the green bike? Specifically, the conditions necessary for it to be able to drive without a rider, and if it would be able to do more complex operations like accelerating and making turns."

[Sachi]

"This is Alia. As much as he liked to gloat about it, his bike was actually a fairly simple model. By itself it had no capability of functioning without a rider, much less the capability to perform complex functions like accelerating and turning. You'd have to seperately install some kind of autopilot program if you wanted it to work remotely."

"Right, that could link to the usb. Alia, can you get the data off that? With something isolating it in case it's a backup of the sigma virus?"

[Sachi]

"I've finished the analysis on the USB. As Axl suspected, it contains the autopilot program - though one infected by the Sigma Virus. Normally, it would stop in its tracks if it calculated that it was going to run into someone. But it looks like Sigma removed that feature - basically, it would just keep on going until someone stopped it."

That bike almost ran down Janet and Cutman without the rider. If metroman's right, that means green was placed down in one of two areas... either on quality assurance, where the line stops, in time for the conveyor to reverse... or on one of the two lines in the assembly line start. It's the only way to explain green being sighted there.

Pallette, that fork in the armory... what's it for, and what determines if it goes to scrap or programming?

[Sachi]

"Looks like it's a sort of proto-quality assurance. If something's gone terribly wrong with the construction of a reploid, then they don't even bother programming it or putting it through the rest of the construction procedures. They just send it down the scrap line and salvage what they can."

Ok, I have an idea of how this went. Here's everything in the case, as I know it. If I'm wrong, or if Guts



ACT 1: This all began not with the killer, though I assume they were busy on their own, but with me. Using A-trans, I secured the Heating/cooling room, icing over all heating elements. This would come into play later on. Meanwhile, feeling the first bits of the virus come into play, the Maverick headed over, retrieving a prepared USB with autopilot hijack.

ACT 2: With their victim figured out, the maverick needed a way for them to be noticed, and to leave their bike. Faking being "stuck" on the conveyor belt, they secured him to it. They likely planned to send them to disassembly, but this was stopped by another part: Metroman causing the conveyors to go in reverse. They compensated, placing Green on the end of the conveyor, to head back through the factory systems.

ACT 3: As green slowly traveled through the area, everyone met in assembly, noticing green's absence. This was where the maverick had acted, placing the Sigma Autopilot into the bike, and having it move around without its owner, knocking them and Cutman down for an alibi of where Green was. With autopilot in the hands of the maverick, they could aim it to look like they'd been knocked down.

ACT 4: As they arrived at the recharge room, the maverick no doubt expected the heating fixtures to have broken their victim, and accessed the fuse box. Without knowledge of what was on the conveyor, this would seem like an innocent act. Instead of their plan, however, Green was reversed into the scrap heap in a solid block of ice, too much for the scrap heap to handle... creating an explosion, either from the conveyor overloading or from Green themselves, their energy heated up by the furnace inside.
