Mini 89 - Everyone Had a Blast

[Vaellin the Bard]

The Danging Romp Club is now quiet as the security manages to escort most of the guests out.


All that's left is the manager, the dj, security, and the most suspicious guests of the night.

The police have it narrowed down to seven suspects, victim included.




"Now now, I'm sure most of you hear just wanted to have some fun going clubbing. However, some of you took it a bit too far. Made a... mess... of things," the Chief of Police says as he steps before six people, now all without masks. "I would like your... cooperation or else I may need to jump to conclusions. Let's hear your stories and see what you can make of the clues we managed to gather. We'll take your judgment under advisement to find the real culprit and arrest them without hesitation."

Sounds like the cops are using you guys to skip detective work.

Well... the Chief explains all he's found so far.

Oh gosh, my poor husband! Oh, I hope whoever killed him will step forward and apologize! And by the way, where's Scratch?!

[Sachi]

And then Goku showed up.

"Whoa, this is awful! I'm glad Bulma's not here - if she found out about this, she'd go crazy! Not even I'd be able to stop her!"


"Don't worry, everyone! Dr. Briefs won't be gone for long! I'll be right back with the Dragon Balls! Then we can wish him back to life!"

"You who have summoned me... Speak your wish so that I may grant it."


"Hey Shenron! Please bring Dr Briefs back to life!"

"Very well... Your wish has been granted... I have returned the one you call Dr. Briefs to life... Farewell..."


"Oh, hey there, honey. I might've used that wish to find out the culprit, instead, but oh well. I've been eager to exercise my brain a little bit.

Now, dead as I am - er, was - my memory's not too on point. Still though, there's three things I do remember, so here they are, probably in no particular order: I remember dancing. What else would I come here to do? I heard the song I requested playing - Together Forever, by the way, lovely tune. It's the song I met my wife too, or, well, one by that artist. A lot of his songs sound rather similar, you know... Ahem. Though I heard my song playing, I never had the opportunity to dance to it. 

And how could I forget my struggling to find an unoccupied bathroom? Oh, that's burned into my memory, alright. What are there - three bathrooms in this building? Imagine my luck!"

Oh darling, I'm so happy to have you back! Now, let's catch that rotten killer of yours and really teach them a lesson! 
And thank you Goku, we can take the rest from here! Go on and tell that sweetheart Chichi hello for us!

”The kind doctor couldn’t avert their own death… rejoice, for they may drink with us once more!”



"During my night, I met someone wearing a Zorro mask in the Club Room. They seemed to have a love for the sea, so I’d guess they were… Captain Craig Cuttlefish?"

"I then found two people finishing drinks in the bar; someone in a Monarch mask, and someone in an Inaba mask. I ordered a drink and spoke with the former while a godawful racket played over the speakers."

"I was left alone in the lounge, with only a bottle of rum to keep me company. I found some rope stuffed under the cushions, and in my delirious state I didn’t think twice about… taking that."

"But strangely enough, nobody was in the hallway either! But that was fine by me. As the song “Calamari Inkantation” tickled my eardrums, I sent the rope flying!”

"I soared across the Dance Floor from the hallway! I would like to believe I was still holding a bottle in one hand, at least until the disco ball gave way overhead and I hit the floor! I was very much in pain, but I had bigger concerns in that moment."

"I was quickly accosted by security like white on rice, like I was some kind of hooligan. If I have to say, I think the song “Wreaking Ball” was playing at the time. But only a short moment later, I heard a second, much bigger crash happening elsewhere. I might’ve gone to investigate, were I not badgered by security, and… my head hurts. Actually, all of me hurts."

"To start, it's probably wise to connect the people to the masks they wore. I believe everyone's accuonts of last night would be helpful for that.

From the description of my body, it would seem that the wolf mask belonged to me, while the, hm, well I don't quite know if that's Haku or Junior, but it would seem the Zorro mask belonged to them.

Of course, we have to consider the possibility that some masks were switched at one point, but you know, considering that nobody's immediately screamed about that happening yet, I suppose we could assume the only person it could have happened to was me, and of course, I wouldn't remember that. In that case, perhaps some of the activities that the masked people in question took could be analysed. What I'm saying is, give me your alibis, damn it!

Ahem, well, there are a few interesting things I'd like to note, as well. My body covered in burns and glass shards, as well as the theme of "having a blast" people keep going on about, seems to imply I was killed by an explosion originating from the microwave. But what could have caused that explosion? Why, did someone try microwaving some tin foil? You really aren't supposed to do that, you know!

...Hm, actually, we'll have to spend more time talking and whatnot, but from a cursory glance of this evidence, perhaps the disco ball incident is in some way related to the microwave explosion. Say, a piece of metal from the ball was placed in the microwave when someone - me - was trying to have their dinner! 

...That calls up another question, as well! Is the break room not only for employees? How did I wind up getting in there? Why, if it wasn't for the murder, I'd suspect that there was some sort of foul play involved!

...Because of the murder, though, I know that there was definitely some foul play involved. You know, just discussing what could have been."

"Ya know, apparently busting through both the vip lounge and manager's office walls isn't allowed so I got all locked up for A4 to A6 I don't know why though, speaking of which security can you tell us who you did security on? mask wise at least?"

Hayashi turns to the manager about this question and the man hesitates before replying.

"It is technically employee only but due to being understaffed no one was there to reinforce the rule, so it was likely treated like any other room. It is my hope that even if you entered it you would treat the belongings there with respect and not take it."

Hayashi nods and then adds "There was no significant amount of metal found in the microwave."

The Chief of Police (Hayashi) pulls out a piece of paper with a few reports. "According to what security told me, there was a fair bit of suspicious behavior with you lot but the ones they dealt with directly, for better or worse, were Phantom, Skull, and Inaba."

"Speaking of my actions it was A3 I broke through the vip room I think then got securitied A4"

[Sachi]

"Ah, yes. I suppose I should have expected the Kool Aid Man to be responsible for those holes in the wall. I've seen those commercials. He does have a knack for that sort of thing, doesn't he?"


"Let's see then... What else could have caused a microwave to explode? I suppose... What if there were nothing at all inside it? Those microwaves need somewhere to go, you know! Keep the microwave on for an extended period of time, all those waves will be bouncing off of each other, desperate to get out. There's a reason they tell you not to do that. That could certainly also lead to an explosion, hm?"

Oh goodness, Darling! You're such a mess!! Here, let me clean you up! Hand your coat over, dear.
