"I won't lie tae you, originally we werenae planning on telling you about the traitors. The way you reacted during Door 3, I figured you had some sorta history wae being, well, betrayed. Didnae want tae bring back those memories. Sorry." He tips his hat at Emerald. What an honor.

"Dunno how long you've been listening, so I'll gie you a wee recap. Guertena and me are trying to keep this on the down low for the time being. We're revealing it to as few people as we can. Only those we trust, and of them, only the ones we think would be able to handle the news. I've already said my piece as to why we werenae going to you first. Sorry again, lass."

"Now, on what you said when you gave me the fright of my life - it's an interesting question. We don't know whether they know, whether they know that we know, or any combination of that stuff. That's why we're keeping it hush, aye? If the traitors are thinking they havnae been ratted out yet, well, from their perspective the secret's still in the bag. They might take less drastic measures than if they knew their identities are at risk. Make sense what I'm saying?"

Naix places her hands in this position. "My words come across as nonsense to most, but they are the ideological truth. This certain understanding of the universe is how I am able to remain composed. Having answered Guertena's initial question, she closes her explanation. "If you tear at the seams of a cloth, it will unravel, and a hole will be created. Thusly, I will tear at the seams of the program until it is unraveled and its people are emancipated. That is my ultimate goal."

Guertena thinks about that for a long moment. A lot of it flew over his head. Tearing a whole in reality? Is that what she was saying? He rubbed his head as if it'd help sort out his thoughts. One major conclusion, however, was:

"Isn't that dangerous though? You could get killed, or get the rest of us killed? Do you have any proof that we are in this simulation too? Besides the whole convoluted set up of this situation." He looked around the area. False sunset, technology that really shouldn't exist, corpses that were both there and not. "Yeah, actually, nevermind, this place is a great place to convince people of this simulation theory. I'm not sure I get it entirely though."

After taking a breather to gather his inscrutable thoughts, Oh-One headed to the shed to see what the others were up to.

Naix stands from her seated position. "The observers of this game are more a danger to our mortality than my methods. I don't expect you to understand it all immediately, but take it into consideration as we continue this game." She gazes at the almost but not-quite clean pool. "Is there anyone else you wish to share the letter with?"

Another smile spreads over Joy's face. It seems he's been, well, more joyful lately. While there was no doubt they were in a challenging situation, and it was likely that things would only grow increasingly more difficult from this point on, in a way one could say that he sort of felt... used to it now? Certainly, the shock wasn't going to be on the same level as that he experienced when he first arrived and woke up here. And now more than ever, he's surrounded by formidable, trustworthy allies. The challenges themselves may get harder, but with the increasing trust forming between the few that he'd spent the time to talk with, Joy felt that going forward, things may be a lot easier to handle than they were before, when it was everyone for themselves.

"I'm glad tae hear that. I'll take you at your word - willnae try tae keep you or Guertena out of the loop on anything else, you've got my word on that. Now then, where's Chief gone off tae?"

This timing couldn't have been worse. Well, actually it could have been. He could have come down here when the note was actually here and seen everything for himself firsthand, probably even worse if he came down here and saw the note during the time Joy was talking about how untrustworthy he was. Eh, whatever. It's still a pretty bad time to come down here regardless.

Guertena nods. "We were thinking April and Chief. Joy has Chief handled, but I figured April would want to know. I suspect she already thinks the people running the show would pull something like this, but her insight would be appreciated as well."

"And I agree with you on the 'hosts' of this sick trial thing being more dangerous than your methods. Whatever the hell they're trying to find in us, or create in us, cannot be good. And I'll help you, Naix, however possible if it'll help us all escape with the fewest lives lost. You have me on your side for that." Not that he was sure HOW he could help, but he seriously owed her his life.

"I'm fine, myself. Got a feeling this place might be taking its toll on some of us, though. Have you seen your twin? The things he's been doing - trying to talk tae corpses and what have you. I think he might need a wee therapy session of his own, if that's what you're offering. At the very least a good talking tae... Aye, but I've been chatting yer ear off long enough. Still things to do, aye? Let me know if you find any more doors, or anything else interesting. You coming, Emerald?"

Joy shuffles passed Oh-One and ascends the staircase once again, coming out to the entrance of the shed. Once he's there, he breathes a sigh of relief, after making sure Oh-One isn't close enough to hear when he does so. 

"Right then, next stop is Chief. Hard to miss him, to be fair, bit of a giant..."

Joy begins wandering around in search of Chief, who he finds after a minute or two of searching. He approaches him, and makes sure nobody who shouldn't be privy to this information is listening in.

"How are you, Chief? Holding up alright, aye? Listen, I got a wee something tae speak tae you about, if ye can gie me a minute."

Joy finds Chief sat down, admiring the View of the False Outdoors, his Chin resting on his Hands.


"Ah, hello, Joy. Is Everything alright?"

Joy takes a seat as well. Might as well, given the occassion. Not too often you get the chance to sit down when you're running through these doors again and again. Actually, he's only been through one so far... Basically, no rest for the wicked and all that jazz. There's no time for this though. It's time to share some information.

"Right, I'm sorry to bring this tae you on such short notice. Guertena and me were exploring together. Solved a puzzle in the shed and found the Null door for ourselves. But stuck up next tae it was a note written by Defective. It said, well..."

Joy lowers his voice, just in case.

"Among our remaining group of 13 people, there exist two traitors."

He lets the trio of he, Emerald and Chief sit in silence for a few seconds. Gotta take it in.

"...Long and short of it is, we want tae keep this as quiet as possible. In case you're wondering, this was written in red, so I've no doubt that it's telling the truth. Same rules as always wae that stuff. Thing is, we didnae want to cause people to panic. We decided to... no tell everybody about it, at least no yet. We're limiting the spread, ye could say. Decided tae only bring it up tae people we could trust, and among them, only tae the people we think could handle knowing it. You've helped us out quite a bit so far, and I'll be honest, ye're probably a smarter man than me. Thought you deserved to know about it. Just so you can keep an extra pair of eyes out, aye?"

Joy gestures to Emerald. "She knows about it an naw. Snuck up on us, actually, funny story behind that... But other than you, all that know are me, her, Guertena, Naix and April. The rest of them havnae got a scooby."

Chief finds his Heart warmed by this demonstration of Trust laid bare before him.


"I find my Heart warmed by this demonstration of Trust laid bare before me."


He looks up into the False Sky.


"Traitors. I wonder what they would have to gain from all of This. One Madman I can understand in Defective, but two Others as well? It is all quite strange."

“I really wonder about it too,” says Emerald. “None of us have been spared from these murder mysteries. Well, except Jupiter for the last room, but we kinda engineered her to be on her own. Thing is, everyone has seemed equally scared and agitated by all this. So if there really are traitors, they must be really good actors.”

She thinks for a second.

“Are we sure red truth works in written text? Maybe this is all a cruel trick Defective is playing so we start distrusting each other.”
