Game 99: "A brand new world" (Prelude)

Staring at the sight in front of you, you all get lost at the gaze, it was all too... Beautiful, like a spell washed over you and filled your every thought with a calm relief. It was a paradise, the smell of the ocean flowing into your room. The sounds of the waves all around soothing to the ear. You can't help but take a minute to appreciate the sight before snapping back into reality. You turned around and noticed the room was lit up much clearer now.



You noticed your personal item resting on the nightstand, you reach out to grab it and notice some wrist watch on your left wrist? After grabbing your things you look at your wrist and play around with the device, trying to figure out what exactly it was, and more importantly how did it get there? Clicking the button on the side turned on the screen, which read the time.

'7:00 AM'

As you try to play around with it more, suddenly, it began to ring and vibrate! after tapping the screen once, a small icon appeared on your screen, a speech bubble. After a small tune a voice message began to play, it was the voice of a lady, her tone a little deep and sultry, welcoming and assertive.

"Ah, It seems that everyone has woken up on time yes? Well may I be the first one to introduce you to Île de la fête, a wonderful island getaway~ I'm honoured to serve as your secretary and head of communications! Before we start our tour, I suggest that you all come down to the hotel lobby and introduce yourselves to each other, I will be in shortly to take a headcount and get everything situated."
She gave a soft chuckle.

"Fresh coffee and tea has been prepared for you all, help yourselves to our freshly baked muffins and scones as well! You will find these on the front desk. See you all in a few."

The watch then displays a message, simply giving you directions on how to get to the Lobby. You step out of your room, and meet 3 other faces on the same floor as you. It appears that there are 4 rooms per floor. You all look at eachother with a hint of curiosity and confusion. You all stand at the elevator, waiting for it to come pick you up and take you down. Walking into the elevator a faint smell of vanilla fills the air, soft elevator music begins to play as it slowly descents. After hearing the bell ring, the doors open, and you're greeted with this sight.



Gentle Jazz played through the ceiling speakers, the room nice and lightly warm. The fragrant aroma of the coffee and tea fill the air, complimented by the fresh warm muffins and scones.

Stepping out of the elevator one by one until everyone has arrived, you all look at eachother and all the different characters you see. Some notable ones are a lady with a unique skin patter, a frog man, and a clearly distressed young woman pacing back and fourth while mumbling. Who were these people? Do they have any clue how we got here?

Go ahead and introduce yourselves to each other!

[Peregrine]

A tall, broadly-built man wearing appropriately tropical garb scratched the back of his head, squinting in the reflection of the morning sunlight as he stepped into the hall.

Invigorated by the smell of coffee, he poured himself a cup as he palmed a pair of muffins in his other hand, quickly taking a bite of one. He blinked, and at once realized something was off. Looking conspicuously about the room, he noticed the colourful cast surrounding him.




"A-Ah! My, there's a lotta ya. Er... good mornin'?"

[Ktoasty]

Kaoru takes a long look around the room before joining the giant bearded man. He picks up one muffin. "Hey, do you own this hotel? I'm not really sure how I ended up here, but thanks for the warm welcome. I'm Kaoru."

He takes a bite.

... How did he get here?

Mao stumbles around, registering the smell of the sea and the sound of the waves while trying to orient himself to his surroundings.

The place has a familiar feeling, but he can't quite place it before the voice utters a familiar name: Île de la Fête. His stomach turns, but less than he thought it would.

He never wanted to set foot on this island ever again. It had a totally bad vibe to it after that time.

F*ck, he's going to be late. Mao's gotta find that boss lady so she can explain to him that there's been a misunderstanding of some sort and that he can take the next boat back to the land.

He opens the door and dashes past the other guests. Thump. Thump. Thump. He doesn't notice it.

The elevator comes, but by that point the other guest have also made their way in. Mao notices one of them has a skin almost as pale as snow and... tattooed eyes, maybe?

He awkwardly waits for the ride to be over, and heads to the lobby. His eyes look for someone that might be working there, but find their way to another surprise: Sir Frog!

"BROOOOOOOOOO!" Mao roars as he runs at his frog bro. Thump. Thump. Thump. "Bro, how are you, bro? Haven't seen you in ages, bro. What have you been up to, bro? Still slaying monsters, am I right, bro?"

[Misaki]

A young girl holding a stuffed animal and wearing an eyepatch exits the elevator and is immediately greeted with a large group of people. She looks rather startled and tries to distance herself from the group without attracting too much attention...



"What is this place...? Is this a dream...?"

[Peregrine]

The barbigerous gentleman watched as the young man rushed across the room to the frog-person.




"Well ain't that nice. Looks like they've got some catching up to do."

He turned back to the fellow next to him.

"Me? Oh no, no, this place ain't mine. Can't say I'm entirely sure what this place is, matter of fact."




"Pleasure to meet ya all the same, Kaoru. Name's Linus! Sorry, but, er... you haven't seen a woman around here about my age, have you? I'm a little... confused at the moment, seem t'have lost track of my missus."

[Ktoasty]

Kaoru skims over the group one more time to check the 8 or so females with them. "Well, if you don't recognize any of these others, then I don't think I know her whereabouts either. Sorry, Linus."

He finishes up his muffin before continuing. "But what you said about this place is curious. If neither of us knows how we woke up here, I wonder if that's the case for everyone else here."

[Spell Craft]

Ichigo stands against a nearby near just off to the side of the elevator.
She begins scanning the room, looking for someone.

(Nero walks in with his duck) "heyo where are we because I am confused I was getting bread one moment the next I'm here"

After scanning, Ichigo creeps over to the muffins area.
She swipes one, looking over it's exterior first to make sure it's not poisoned or tampered with.

[Ame]

People washed out of the elevator, attracted to the scent of brewed coffee and hot muffins, both freshly made. One of the last people out of the elevator was a tall blonde woman.



She lets out a yawn, looking around at the 15 people surrounding her. 2 girls & a boy, all with silken white hair, A giant woman with red hair, someone who looked to be a part of the Strawberry Mafia, a man who looked like he hadn't slept in 12 years, a man who could pass as... most of their dads, a friendly-looking ginger girl, a younger boy with green hair, someone with heterochromatic eyes, a woman who looked as if she was pulled from 16th century Japan, a man with bunny ears... and lastly a frog, a surfer bro and a girl with Ginger & Purple hair...

"Setora?"

she murmured to herself

"Wait, did the announcement say Île de la fête?"

Ellie shook her head, she was probably just losing her mind, or hadn't gotten enough sleep the night before. She walked towards th coffee and muffins, making herself a flat white and grabbing a scone or two.

[Peregrine]

Kaoru had begun to worry Linus.




"Wait, you don't remember either? Well that ain't normal, this sounds..."


Linus opens his mouth to speak, then closes it. He notices the women who'd approached the muffin array.


"Oh, good morning. Say, you in the same boat as us? Woke up here unexpectedly, or...?"

[sageofbrush]

(Nero grabs a scone giving it to his duck) "ok unless I get an explation I'm going to leave

[Ktoasty]

Kaoru perks up when he sees the duck by the breakfast table. He crouches down holding several scones to feed it. "Hey, little ducky. It's nice to meet you."


He looks up at its owner. "Does it have a name?"

Ichigo, looking away from the muffin and now at Linus, gives a brief answer. "Sure."

She looks back away, then after determining that the muffin was fine enough, gobbles it whole like she'd not eaten food in a while.
