{On the way down}Once, again, the surviving group of 15 form up on the elevator.

Mr. Watoshi, beer can in hand.
Miles Edgeowrth, holding a crowbar.
Kyoko Kirigiri... giggly.
Karen Rosenthal, tears in her eyes, dressed in a bathing suit underneath her jacket.
Amaya Winterstorm, with her sling bag.
Greater Arm Seven, silent as usual.
Judy Check, and Todd Cross, each with their golf club, though one looking more confident than the other.
Cedric van Asweigen, Looking at his feet.
Tyler Stryder, with a confused look on his face.
Suzume Saotome, being clung to by Ayano Fujikawa.
Nao Tomori, sneaking peeks at Akira.
Akira, sneaking peeks at Nao.
Dio, the loudest of you all, but with nothing to say.


You arrive at the bottom, and step into the Trial room. At the 20 podiums, where there was once a single sign representing the deceased, there are now 5.

You all take your places.

"You all look so sad, kuma!"

"Well, I'm here to cheer you up!"

"So, since there's more than one death, voting is going to be a little different, kuma!"

"You're all going to vote 3 times! Once for each of deceased!"

"Whichever resident you vote for each time will be executed! Of course, if you vote the same person all 3 times, that means only that person will be executed, kuma."

"But... for each Blackened vote you get wrong, I'll execute another one of you at random! A pretty generous deal, if you ask me!"

"...Oh, and of course, that random chance includes anyone who may have killed someone else. Chalk it up to the cons of being Blackened and Whitened at the same... But doesn't you think it's more fun this way? Epuppupu!




"Ok, go! Do your things!"

In this Trial, and any others with multiple deaths, voting will not be done via a poll. Voting shall be done in one of two ways; either by posting in the following format:

I vote:

[Blackened] killed [Victim A]
[Blackened] killed [Victim B]
[Blackened] killed [Victim C]

Anything not in that format won't count!

CLASS TRIAL START: ALL RISE!

Karen has long since stopped sobbing by the time she reaches her podium, but silent tears still fill her red, puffy eyes. She is holding onto the podium as if it's the only thing keeping her upright.

"Let me start..." She trails off, pausing to clear her throat, her voice strangled by emotion. "I... am sure you have seen... Ky--" Saying his name makes her start to choke up again. She bows her head, eyes squeezed shut. A couple of tears fall onto the podium. "--h-his... talent... is different from what we... we said. I... can confirm this. H-He was not the Ultimate Nail Artist. He.... my l-little b-brother... was the Ultimate Interrogator. I knew this. I am s-sorry for lying but we... we had to..."

Between her 'deaf accent' and her tears, she is becoming increasingly hard to understand.

"...my... my brother... was not a bad... person... he..."

With that, she starts to sob again.

[Ktoasty]

"It's alright, Karen. I'm sure Kyle had his reasons to keep it a secret." Todd consoles the sole twin in her moment of guilt. "Right now though, we'll need your help to know what happened to your brother during the killing period."

He summarizes what information he knows about Kyle. "I think most of us know this, but Kyle's location was out in the open if anyone checked their monopad map. Other than that, I only met him one time, around 20:00 at the Trolleyway entrance.

He was with me until 20:30, when he got on a trolley with you, Karen." This is when he asks her for assistance. "If I'm right, you were with him in the Pool area as well. Can you tell us what happened after 20:30?"

"We... we got off the trolley at the tr-trash room... as planned..." Karen wipes her eyes before going back to holding onto her podium. "We... went to destroy the p... pistols. We threw them in a-and turned... turned the incinerator on. After w...waiting to make sure they burned, we w-were going to go to the p-pool together. But then Ky... h-he said he heard something. I... I obviously cannot tell you what he heard, but he s-seemed bothered by it. I t...told him it did not matter, that we n-needed to make sure the guns were fully... fully destroyed... but he said he needed to check. So I s...stayed behind at the incinerator while he... while my little brother went to investigate..." She presses her hands to her face. "Wh...Why...? Why didn't I stop him? I should have... I should... I... K-Kyle... I..."

After a moment, she sets her hands back down. Her face is a mess of tears. "It... it is m-my fault. K-Kyle was injured and I... I let him go off... on his own... and now..." Her hands curl into fists. "It is my fault. You should vote for me. It... is all because of me... that he... that Kyle... is... d-dead..."

Ayano looks up.. "I can confirm this, which is why I went to the trash room.... I trusted Kyle and Karen of course but proof always helps.... Me, Suzume and Kyle and Karen hung out until about 8pm, before Kyle left he told us about their plan to dispose of the guns. In the trash room... I found... this...:

There is one trash bag you find in the room that smells of pepper spray. 

Timidly walking inside the incinerator, you find that it is rather warm; it has likely been used recently. Near the middle, you find a small, square-ish shape of metal that has clearly been melted and reformed. 

You turn to leave the scary incinerator; and find one more thing of interest. There is a dark spot on the floor just inside the entrance. It looks to be burnt into the floor....

"I'm pretty sure that was the guns.... does anyone know about the... pepper spray....?"

[Ktoasty]

"No, Karen, we won't vote you for that. We can't." Todd feels bad for saying it, but she needs to recall the rules. "Kyle's cause of death in the Kuma File is a slit throat. Whoever did that, that person is the real blackened."

He thinks over what she said in her alibi. "What you said does help though. Using the incinerator to destroy the guns explains that metal found in the truth bullets. I'm not as sure about the unusual, dark stain though.

It might mean the incinerator was used more than once during the killing period."

Karen shakes her head. "I never... never saw any pepper spray... I do not remember something smelling l-like that when I was there, but... it is p-possible that... that it was overpowered by the smell of the pistols b-burning... I am sorry."

"Karen, when did you split off from Kyle?"

"K...Ky-- he... he left me in the trash room to investigate the noise... this would have been around... 20:45, I s-suppose... I waited b-by the incinerator while the p...pistols burned, and... I took the next trolley that arrived. I arrived at the p...pool room around 20:55, as that was wh-where he and I were planning to go after destroying the guns..." She gestures to her bathing suit. "But he... he was not there... I figured it was possible that h-he could be late... so I went into the locker room to change... and I got into the pool to w-wait for him. But as... as the minutes went by, I... started to have a bad feeling... so I went back to change. I was... so scared... I only grabbed my jacket before running out."

She sniffles a little before continuing. "My kumabook said that he was in... the trolleyway sector, so I searched everywhere... I spent the r-rest of the night searching: I tried the shower room, I looked into the trash room on the way by, and I checked the casino, too... he was... my little brother was... nowhere to be found."

"Question to Duokuma, was Kyle being tracked via is kumapad, or his body himself? Even more so does Kyle have his Kumapad on him now?"

"Karen... this means Kyle was in the trolleyways..... but a different carriage.... that's unnerving... it also means in theory instead of checking the rooms.... you should of checked the different trolleys... you kept missing what was happening... but only just... but the sounds of it the weird things other than the guns was related to the killer.... unless someone else comes forward...."

From there, I was alerted by M-Miles, Dio, and... and Cedric, who had discovered the dr-drowned puppet."

Todd thinks about Karen's continued recount of the night. "That is strange. The Kuma File says Kyle's body was found outside of the Pool Storage, not inside, so it shouldn't have been hard to miss if Karen searched that room first.

It's only a guess, but what if Kyle was kept hidden in the Pool Storage for a while, by his killer? Then all they had to do was take him out and leave the scene on the next trolley when it was all clear."
