Mini Trial 28 - TRIAL TIME!

Klavier's eyes lock onto Mao as soon as the other man speaks. "Surely you remember seeing me, Herr Mao? If not, let me refresh your memory... I should enlighten you all as to what I've been up to all day, anyway."

"I started out on the boat with the rest of you. I wanted to serenade you all with the sensual amalgamation of my guitar and my voice, but there wasn't really enough room to play, so I tried to flirt with some people, namely Herr Battler and Fraulein Jessica. I was ignored by both of them, can you believe it? So I decided to go to the church. (A1)

"In the church, I sat down to play some guitar by myself. I'm working on a new hit single for the Gavinners, and I wanted to practice it. But my voice is so beautiful, ja? I found myself starting to get... worked up." He winks. "So I went in search of someone to... help me with that. (A2)

"I went to the dining hall, and made a beeline for Herr Battler. He's so sexy, you know...? But then I saw someone else... someone good-looking enough to write albums about... and he was under the table. I figured he wanted me to meet him down there, but there were other people around, and I couldn't do something that would affect my image as a prosecutor. So I didn't go under the table, even though I very much wanted to. But when the food arrived, this sexy stranger stole my food and replaced it with a banana peel! I was sure that this was a message that he wanted my banana... you know what I mean, ja? I got caught up... imagining things with him, and when I came back to reality, everyone had left. So I went in search of this sexy stranger. (A3)

"I went to the garden to look for him and grabbed a rose to give him. But I cut myself quite badly on the thorns..." Klavier holds up his hand to show the gash on his hand. "I didn't care, though. I was desperate to find this sleepy stranger. I headed to the church again to see if he was there, and on my way, I saw Haichi filling a bucket with water. On my way to the church though I saw my sleepy prince... in a hole. (A4)

"I approached him, but he..." Klavier pauses here, looking conflicted. "...I am sorry, Herr Mao, but you smelled awful. I almost threw up right then and there. You smelled so bad that I lost all interest. What a buzzkill. I went on to the church, where I saw Haichi again, trying to put something on the door. I asked him what he was doing and he told me he wanted to pull a prank to spill water on someone when they entered the church door. I helped him, because, well... seeing someone all wet is pretty nice indeed, ja? We went into the church and hid, waiting for someone to enter. (A5)

"Someone finally came in - it was Fraulein Sonia, and she got completely soaked! But it wasn't as sexy as I'd hoped, because the lovely lady started to cry and ran away. I laughed, but Haichi did not. I tried to smile at him, but he ran off as well. (A6)

"I wasn't sure why he didn't laugh - after all, the prank was his idea! But oh well. I stayed in the church to play guitar and sing some more. Then Fraulein Ai entered and listened to me. But then Fraulein Jessica came in, looking very worried. She asked us to follow her, so we did, and met up with the others. (A7)

"We followed Fraulein Jessica and Herr Battler to the library, where... well, you all know." He looks solemn. "We found the body. (A8)"

After everyone calmed down, you all started investigating the Library and the body. The library seemed like it was almost untouched. Nothing seemed weird apart from where the corpse was. The corpse was of a young woman and she had her throat sliced with a massive cut. The wound was covered in blood. In her hand, she had a knife. The knife had some blood on it. Next to her, it seemed there was a key. Battler says it looks like the Library key. He picked it up and tried to lock the door and it worked. He then tried to lock the Lobby, but the key didn't seem to work.

"EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEK!!!!!!!!!!" Mao sees the corpse on the floor. He also suddenly realizes they are in the library. He is frozen in place, not wanting to touch the body.

"Y- you shouldn't t- touch her! W- we should wait for the c- cops!" Mao stutters out. 

[Tetsu]

Ai stares

“Does this mean...she was slice across her throat? But is it from left to right or right to left?” She asked

[Ame]

Haichi, without saying a word, walked over to what use to be Beatrice's body and looked at her hands.

[mao]

Oh no. It looks like Mao has caught himself in yet another killing game. Not again.

I'd like to point out an interesting detail. When I went to the Entrance Hall (A4), waiting for Jessica, I noticed two interesting things, or rather, two interesting people. So, one of them was Kotoko. She was picking up something, trying to hide from everyone. I believe she didn't notice me. It looked like a bucket full of stuff inside. But that wasn't the most interesting thing. The most interesting thing was in the Entrance Hall. T'was a golden Epitaph that said something about a witch’s gold and a ritual necessary for it to appear. It seemed that the witch's name was Beatrice.

Ai looked at the cut and it seems it was maybe done from left to right as the cut on the left was more deep.

Haichi looked at, maybe, Beatrice's hands. It seems the cut didn't reach the windpipe. There were a lot of blood tho. The knife hadn't a lot of blood, compared to the blood around her neck. It still had blood on it.

While Kotoko was investigating the library, she overhears what Sonia just said.



"Oh right about that... Yes I did have a bucket with stuff in it but I can assure you that it has nothing to do with this murder at all." She says with childlike innocence before returning to investigating.

Eventually she finishes what's she's doing and then leaves the Library to investigate someplace else.

Mao inspects the locks on the windows and the door. How do they work?

Klavier investigates the library to see if any books have been left out, or if it seems like someone had been there during the day.

"Also, I'd like to specify a few things. When I went to the Church (A6), I went there without Jessica. And in the Church there were two heartless bastards." - she'd say with a hint of sadness. "They were Klavier and Haichi." "I didn't think Haichi was capable of that..."
