Mini Trial 6 - Investigation

The last couple of days have been... tense, to say the least.

The constant challenges to duels and contests amongst everyone have left you, let’s say, standoffish. The ubiquitous Halloween decorations did little to lift your spirits. Neither did the equally ubiquitous cowpats.

None of the gunslingers were allowed to keep their firearms—instead receiving cheap dart guns—but the tension was nevertheless almost unbearable. Everyone had been left to their own devices at some point, but you all felt you’d been keeping a pretty watchful, ever-squinted eye on each other.

And yet...

A certain individual never cared for your daily breakfast or dinner meetings, but had always come by the café to eat something eventually. So when several hours passed after dinner, seeing neither head nor hide of the soul all of today, the remaining eight students split into two parties, and a school-wide search went into action. Remembering the room most frequently occupied by the missing person, one bantam band o’ bandy brocobustin’ buccaneerin’ buckaroos consisting of Muckaroo, Chiacow, Tsumoogi, and Stacy makes their way to the Archive…

{But whose?}...and looks upon the unmistakable body of Byakuya Togami, the Ultimate Affluent Progeny, shirtless, lying face-down in a viscid pool of red. Several wounds cover his bare back, and his hand stretches out in front of him, resting a pointed finger on the bloodied page of a file.

You will now be given the opportunity to vote for rooms to be investigated. You may vote for up to eight different rooms, though you are not required to use all eight votes. The top six chosen rooms will be investigated. Keep in mind that the body counts as a separate room.

In addition, breaking from the norm, you will vote for alibis in addition to rooms. You may vote for up to four different students' alibis. An unknown number of the top voted alibis will be provided.

For both rooms and alibis, all ties will be broken by RNJesus, as is traditional.


Addendum: As you may have noticed, contrary to what was written in sign-ups until recently, Floor 2 suddenly exists! Funny how that happens. Thus, the floors available to investigate are Floor 1 (both), 2, 3, and 5. Good luck!

Muckaroo chewed her cud. "The city-slicker is the first to bite the dust. Just as I suspected... as sheriff of this town though I reckon it's my responsibility to catch the rascal who done this by hook or crook!" She spit out the straw from her mouth and smothered it with her boot. Muckaroo adjusted her hat. "Now we better head 'em out an' move 'em out. I'm gonna stay here an' investigate this crime scene. Ain't no way I'm takin' my eye off this body till I'm dragged away kickin' an' screamin', ya hear? That's why I'm relyin' on you yokels to do honourable work. At the crime scene I reckon I can cover the body an' the archive. I need someone to investigate the storage room. Someone else best check out the kitchen, but don't you go wettin' yer whistle while you're in there!" She removed her hat as she knelt next to the body. "Poor fella... he really is a goner. Who coulda done this? I need to know what each of yous was doin' today. Specifically I want detailed accounts from Nagito, Makowboy, Junkow, and that funny tenderfoot... what's his name? Minikuma."

Well, Body and Archive. Dining Hall, Library. Changing Rooms, Bathrooms, um... School Shop... Martial Arts Dojo.

And then, Muckaroo, Chiacow, Tsumoogi, and Stacy.

While here, everyone finds themselves shot at least one additional time by Junkow. Then she shoots Muckaroo again. And again. And again. Oh, and Makowboy too.

"Ain't it a shame! who'd 'ave thought that meanie-too-leanie'd end uhp bitin' thuh dust fuhrst, eh? Dudnit jus' feel ya with despair? Gosh, don't it jus' feel amazin'? Let me tell ya, ifin' ya ain't know yo-wr way about a equalizer, ya ain't survivin'! Them's the rules of nature 'round here, and that's how ah like it!"

She spins her gun all cool-like. Then she shoots Muckaroo again.

"Ya're squat but an lunkhead ifin' ya don't check that there body. Hell, while we're at it, let's check that Crime Scene too, seems a waste not to. Lookin' at them there wounds, the Kitchen's another safe bet. Ah think the Storage and Art Storage might help us a little more as well. An ah, what thuh blazes, let's check thuh Martial Arts Dojo as well. Maybe one awf y'ahwl will 'member sumthin' ifin' we're in thuh shootin' range."

She fires a shot at the roof, for some god forsaken reason. Someone control this monster.

"Speakin' awf 'membering! Ah want thuh alibi for myself and that super-cute bear! Ah don't give 'alf a blame about thuh rest awf y'all."

She tries to shoot Muckaroo again but it looks like she's out of ammo.
