"from what you demonstrated before, on your own hand, i supposed you yourself are your own test dummy... but what if i was able to offer you other test dummies for your potions. are there any you've made that can benefit say... immune systems?" She pauses, glancing to the floor for a second and looking a tad uncomfortable. She's getting far too carried away. She doesn't know this man, his name, or even if he is up for being sociable. "...ah apologies, you don't even know me, i shouldn't be digging so intently- unless of course you don't mind?" 

"Immune systems..." Gypsum chuckles and a puff of smoke exits his mask as he breathes out. "Allow me to explain why you're hoping for the impossible." His sharp, old, almost metallic voice shows signs of him enjoying this. "Doctors see the immune system and wish to teach it more, strengthen the cells or improve the system with more blood if the patient requires it... But I am an alchemist."

He rummages through a pocket hidden underneath the attire on his chest and pulls out a very slim flask. He puts it on the table and you see it filled with mold and a live centipede. "We're not all about liquids. It's the natural way of the earth, to create something from nothing. This little bugger holds no value, however, he loves mold as you can see." Gypsums eyes go towards spacegirl and without seeing his mouth, you can tell he's teaching you a lesson and thoroughly enjoying it. "You simply empty the stomach, eat the bug, it will survive and settle inside the layer of cells that make up the stomach. You now have a permanent immunity to mold....

But do you think you'd enjoy feeling a bug crawl through your stomach every day? Would the science... the knowledge... the immunity be worth peeing centipede eggs forever?"

Gypsum seems to not realise that his stories are disgusting. He just loves science too much, nothing wrong here i'm sure.

"...so even thought you're an alchemist, you're basically saying that technically speaking the way you go about solving problems is different to scientists and offers a more... avant-garde approach which is probably not very beneficial." Leio peers at the centipede in the flask, her gaze curious as she roams her brain for insight on how to approach this. "if you numbed the stomach permanently i don't see why feeling the bug would be a problem if in the end it's doing minimal harm and aiding you, it could be an endearing solution in the long run if faced with moisture-based planet systems where mold solves as a danger..." She curls a strand of purple hair around her finger, furrowing her eyebrows. "i couldn't say i'd enjoy it, but if it was saving lives i could put up with it."

What was once thought to only be a zoo, became much grander... much more lively... much. . . more.

Penni finishes her masterpiece, spread out across the table in front of the 4, for everyone in the room to see. A masterpiece of masterpieces. The napkins so carefully aligned to resemble that of a parade of majestic animals.

The horse takes its high stance in the middle, caught mid-stomp as the ruffles caress it's ever so gallivant body.

Behind it, the rabbit follows, late to the party, but never forgotten. Its face perfectly molded to reveal the stuff of nightmares, yet the ears and body belong more so to a child's imagination of fluffy thrills, chills, but not kills.

In the front, a brilliant turkey takes the stage made of plates, shimmering its life-like feathers  and pouching right on the bowl mold, as if it was made for the turkey, and for the turkey alone. Its head held high, well awake that it is NOT the subject of dinner tonight, but rather the celebrated mascot of a better life for turkeys, as they all deserve.

Minions of smaller turkeys lay across the table, ever so carefully gazing up to their leaders in awe and glory. Bats swoop around the room in a fashion of true pride with their animal brothers and sisters alike. Birds and flowers and other animals celebrate in their fun parade, a truly blessed event of life.

But what's this?

It seems there was a snake. This snake harbored feelings of ungratefulness.

You see, the story of the snake was an interesting one.

One day a man by the name of Pancho was walking when he saw a rattle snake under a rock. He felt sorry for the snake and decided to help him. So Pancho picked up the rock. As soon as the rattlesnake was free he coiled up and was ready to attack when Pancho asked, "What is your problem? I just saved your life and this the way you repay me!" 

"Well," said the snake, "when something good happens something bad has to happen." 

"That's not true!" shouted Pancho. "Look I'll make a deal with you. We'll ask three witnesses if they agree to this nonsense. If they agree I'll let you strike me." The snake agreed. 

The first witness to walk by was a donkey. Pancho and the snake asked if he agreed with the snake. He replied that the only reward he got for his hard work was a beating. 

So they waited for the next witness when along came a chicken. They asked the chicken what she thought. She said that she had laid many eggs and now that she couldn't she would die. At this point Pancho looked like he was in trouble. 

After waiting nervously a coyote came out of the bushes. They asked him for his opinion. "Well," said the coyote, "if you put yourself under the rock and the condition you were in, I could make up my mind." 

So the snake crawled under the rock for the coyote. As soon as the coyote checked if the snake couldn't get out from under the rock by itself, he said to Pancho, "Let's go friend, now we don't need an answer."

The snake had never forgotten this, and was ready to exact it's revenge.

"Yeah, I don't think I had any plans on getting near people anyway. Didn't know you had a vendetta against that kinda holy stuff though." Murai goes back to eating his foods again.

"There's a long story behind that... Not one I should be telling at a dinner table. But though their presence annoys me there isn't anything I can particularly do about it. What a bother."

Naoya eyes the food for a brief moment. He considers taking a bite, but then remembers this food is the same one Murai has been coughing and sneezing on for an unknown length of time. He decides against taking a munch of that lovely, germ-infused food and instead takes a step backward, toward the cafeteria's door again.

"Let's talk again. You certainly pique my interest enough. Well, goodbye."

Leio's thinking is distracted for a brief moment as she spots the girl playing with napkins out of the corner of her eye. She's slightly confused, as it looks like some kind of model but... not very scale efficient. But she's trying. Leio can only nod with a quiet 'huh' before going back to looking at the alchemy man.

"See ya later, Naoya." Murai waves with a few audible cracks in his arm. He whispers owowowow and puts it down to eat again. Noms

Gypsum is now listening intently, something he normally would never do. "Someone who can appreciate the art... Although I do it for the thrill of knowledge, I can't expect you to share my interest..." He looks at the centipede for a second "...if you took into account that not many share our views. Nor would they be willing if it was all just a hypothesis. No proof, nothing. Just hopes and dreams hidden in a tiny bottle. A chance at life, a chance at failure. Even if there is no inherent purpose. Oh the thrill of just knowing what happens is what drives me beyond-"

His rant is abruptly stopped when she looks besides him and he is met with the view of paper things. 

'huh'

[Spell Craft]

"It was all a ploy!" Penni exclaims to the three, shaking her hands like jazz hands.

"A ploy..."

Penni lowers her head.

But quickly lifts it back up, because Penni isn't allowed to show weak emotions like sadness or anger. She must only be happy... ever.

So instead, Penni crafts something that might interest the little space girl and the flask boy.

Penni grabs some alluminuim from the hot foods, and begins twisting and twisting and twisting.


"Boom."

Then she takes more colorful napkins, and begins folding and folding and folding

"Bang."


That's takes her less than a minute for both, though she's never made these things before.

Yuna has been quiet and watching. She grins seeing Penni make the trinkets and the grand zoo.

"Oh wow, that's amazing, Penni! You have a great talent!"

"...drives you beyond?" The intrigued Leio prompts him to continue, before turning to the girl and picking up the small spaceship. She lets a serene expression pass over her face, despite the fact she scrutinizing the structure of it and how a ship that looks like such perhaps would not be best suited to be a passenger craft, instead she keeps her mouth closed and mutters out a soft, "...thank you, it's endearing."

"b-beyond... ehh..." Gypsum has lost his concentration. RIP

"Never mind. You understand what I mean, i'm sure." He grabs the tiny bottle, shakes it and looks at the centipede, and then at Leio. He squints a bit, as if in thought and puts it back where it come from. He sees the little paper bottle that Penni made for him and nods.
He grabs a grain of what looks like salt and a grain of what looks like sand and puts them inside. Poof. A tiny red cloud appears and the paper bottle is now red. Gypsum mumbles "Might actually work as a flask... Useful."

Leio nods, her thumb running over the surface of the spaceship that rests between her fingers. "i'm sure if put in a certain situation they'd think different, if given the chance between doing something for a cost or  facing the grave, for instance. i assume it's the chance of doing something that once thought improbable that excites you?" She gazes around the room for a minute, pursing her lips as she mumbles softly, "pardon me for saying...doesn't this all seem rather odd to you?"

Gypsum whispers back "I ignore the feeling until I know more. Something weird has happened, and that's impressive coming from me."

Suddenly, a guy in lab coat stood up and slam his hand on the table.




"Are you guys serious?" He stares at each of you.

"You guys are so busy socializing and eating that you don't find it weird?!"



"H-Hey..Joe..calm down...they are...just hungry...t-that's all"

 A guy wearing a red and white coat and brown hair spoke

As your eyes all turn to their table, you notice there is one more person wearing a red hood and a mask just sitting there quietly.


"...."

Then the lab coat guy turns to the red/white coat guy and said

"No I will not! This doesn't even seem...real Matt! The last thing I remember was boarding the plane!"

Matt turns to him.

"Joe..calm yourself down! Look at John he's adapting..."

Matt points towards the mask guy.

Penni grins at her new-found acquaintances enjoying their new gifts.

"Thank you kindly, Yuna." Penny flashes a smile to Yuna.

"Ooowaa? Would you rather dwelling on the past?"

Penni shrugs, unknowingly sounding serious there.

"I like moving forward and living in the moment, here and now and food."
