Wonderland Court: Alice And The Potted Menace (Trial 1)

[Zero One/Zero Two]

I'll uh... Retraces back my memories of what happen last night.

Let see...

A1) I go to the Dining Hall to join the tea party. There, I saw Camille, Cosmi, Nalanie, Erika, Heart, Yuuki, and Merurin. I think.

A2) I continue to enjoy the tea party at the same location, which is the Dining Hall. There, I saw Nalanie leaves to the Throne Room, Erika leaves to the Kitchen, Camille leaves as well, after Yuuki blows smoke in her face. While Merurin and Cosmi stay. Then, I heard a scream from the Throne Room.

A3) I ignore the scream, as I continue to enjoy my tea. Yuuki, and Cosmi rush out. And Merurin leaves for the Kitchen. Then, Erika walks in and starts to talked about chopstick? And uh... Umi and Kurane arrive later.

A4) I grab some donut while Kurane enjoys his tea. Umi leaves for the Throne Room. And uh... Erika talking some sense to Heart? Merurin then comes in here with a plate of muffin. And there is something hanging from her sleeve, not sure what. Then, a scream comes from the Throne Room again, only this time it is more like a war cry.

A5) Erika suddenly leaves, angrily, and uh... Merurin gives me this weird look as I munch on the muffin. Kurane tries to distract her, but failed, unfortunately fails. Then, he just stares at his crush, I mean... He stares at Merurin sleeves for a bit.

A6) I take another muffin while Merurin is copying me... Hmm... I wonder why. Yuuki then comes by. Kurane continues to enjoys his tea. Poor Heart is about to taste one of the muffin when the body discovery announcement plays.

As for my investigation, this is the result that I get from it.

[Dining Hall: You indepth the Dining Hall. A table has been set out for 16 people, however only a few plates have been used. Muffins lay at the center of the table, on a plate. 6 are on the plate, and 1 is just barely next to it. Multiple pots of tea are reportedly empty, though nothing is laced. Snacks of various make are also reported to be missing, though crumbs can be traced to some plates.

Kitchen Scan: Nothing is out of the ordinary. You find a corkscrew opener missing, and muffins placed out.]

Action 1) I head off towards the Warehouse. On the way, I spot Boris (PC) and One Nine (PC), One Nine being carried by a Card Soldier (Club Affiliated). Before I can scold her for relying on those Communist scum, Amai (PC) bolts past I in a flurry of emotion. I follow after, and see her tearing apart flowers in a corner of the Garden. I don’t care and take off for the Warehouse. It’s huge, adorned in red. Anything I could want is here, categories labeled for each section. I have normal things like Food, Drinks, Tools…then I get into weirder things…Chains, Weapons, Spare Guillotines, Jewelry, Flowers, Flower Dye? Who the hell needs dye for flowers?!

Action 2) I crack my neck and rush out of the Warehouse. On the way through the Garden, I shove Hardgore Alice (PC) into the mud, who seemed to have been trying to get into the Warehouse. I dash by an odd looking bush that scrapes my armor a bit as I move past. I almost charge down Nalanie (PC) in the Hallway. Finally, I make it to the Throne Room before screaming “FOR THE ENCLAVE!!!” I charge into Camille (PC), knocking her out instantly, before rushing at Kevin (PC). It’s a bit more of a struggle, but I grab his head and slam it against the floor multiple times until he becomes knocked out as well. Soon, I exit my armor, stretching.

Action 3) I begin to get back in my armor, due to the fact that I had to exit. As I reequip, I hear footsteps coming from both directions. I turn to the Dining Hall and spot Yuuki (PC), Erb (Diamond Ace), Estinien (Spade Ace), Aymeric (Club Ace), and Cosmi (PC). It seems Cosmi pushed Yuuki to get to Camille (PC), and is now holding her in her arms. I then turn to the other source of footsteps to see Boris (PC), who is holding a sledgehammer, and Amai (PC). The both of them seem to have come from the Hallway. I continue to put on my armor while a trickle of blood comes from Kevin’s (PC) head, though he's still unconscious.

Action 4) I get up and proceed to charge straight at Boris (PC) and Amai (PC), before something goopy grabs me by the waist! I'm suddenly pulled back before I'm met with the angered eyes of Cosmi (PC). Her weird failed experiment arm (likely funded by the Communists) is the cause of the goop, and she starts shouting at me about why I did this. I begin shouting at her back about the Enclave, and the two of us begin an argument. My eyes go red with fury as we suddenly hear a war cry, and Erb (Diamond Ace) has now sucker punched me, and has joined the argument! Boris and Amai have gotten to where Yuuki (PC) is standing, and Boris is trying to ask him something. Camille (PC) is being held by Aymeric (Club Ace), while Estinien (Spade Ace) tends to Kevin (PC). I then watch Umi (PC) slowly try to make her way across the room, before tripping and falling on her face. At least one Communist suffered.

Action 5) With all of my might, I struggle against the mutie, Cosmi’s (PC) arm. She has me tight. Amai (PC) runs out, crying. Boris (PC) walks to where Umi (PC) faceplanted, and smashes his sledgehammer to the floor, causing a moment of peace. I use this peace like a true American and get out of that damn mutant’s arm, rushing out of the room and towards the Female Bedrooms. I almost charge down Nalanie (PC) in the Hallway. The first thing I spot is a blue haired soldier (Club Affiliated) guarding a room, so naturally, I charge at him. He has good reflexes, and manages to dodge, and the two of us begin to fight.

Action 6) I continue to fist fight the Card Soldier (Club Affiliated). One Nine (PC) runs to the door and begs us two to stop before the soldier has enough, and tries to slam me against the wall. This does little to nothing as I whirl around, forcing him to the wall. He grabs my neck, and that’s when my handbook was beeping darkly. The communist scum’s eyes widen. “Stop, STOP! Please, you must open your handbook!” I pull it out, and after my cute “Welcome to Wonderland!” intro I got, it suddenly glows dark red.
“ATTENTION: A BODY HAS BEEN DISCOVERED IN THE 1ST FLOOR GARDEN. ALL AVAILABLE PERSONELL, PLEASE MAKE YOUR WAY THERE.” The soldier curses to himself as I leave him there, walking off. I can hear him walking into the room he was guarding. I make My way to the Garden, wondering who bit the dust.

"Ah right investigations, nothing seems out of place or taken from the warehouse, and i asked the action 2 of the Club Soldier, he said he was guarding One Nine's room" Kurane said before shutting up again

"I apologize for not stating so sooner, but as most who were involved with last night have spoken already, i suppose ill just explain the late night.
Act 1-4 my actions were as the other described. 5) After that idiotic Barron ran off I stayed behind to take care of Camille. 6) Kevin beat me to taking care of Camille and I will admit.. I was a little salty. He tried to treat my beast arm as well but it was unnecesary. Thats when the discovery announcement went off, so Kevin and I rushed to the scene."

Umi glances around the room, clutching her hands to her chest.

"...For meh scan of warehouse, Umi got nuthin'... everything was normal, no out of place things or taken things..."

She tilts her head to the side slightly, an almost shy grin on her features.

"...But I got ta help smmm'body, so that makes up fo' it..."

Umi folders the corners of the bandages on her arm in, fidgeting to get rid of the nervous feelings she had.
"Ya probe lee heard my actions from everybody else, but... Umer... Umi will tell anyway."

Her hands moved towards her IV, where her hands began to routinely run down their plastic.
"Nn Umi first went to the kitchen, Kurane was eatin' a sand witch... I went to make strawberry tea, but trip... got errywhere, over card sol...soil...soldiers! And, uh, tried to find replacement bandages. I try to sorry, wiping myself off..."

Umi ducks her head in embarrassment, almost cringing at her words.
"Felt bad... Tried to help Kurane clean... Then cleaned the kitchen... Erika enters, fans over chip...cherp..ch...opsticks... then Kurane began to clean me! Good human!"

Umi lets go of her IV and seemingly chirps up slightly, sending Kurane a bright grin while clapping her hands together.
"Then Kurane helped me up! Erika left to dine-hall place, Meruree-rin...uh, entered kitchen to find muffins. Uh-me and Kurane left. I go to the dine-hall, Brodie and Erika and Mister Heart here too. Heart seems upset, so I do a dance to cheer up him! It worked, may...by!"

She giggles softly, sending Heart a grin before she readjusts her position and fiddles with her IV.
"Kurane and Brodie sit down, two boys sippin' tea... Erika was tellin' off Mister Heart for not pry...prie? pr...praying to chopsticks, yesh! I leave to throne room. It's hecter...hectic. Boris, Amai, Yuuki at entrance, communicating... Erb, Barron, Cosmi yelling. Camille is being held by Aym... Ace club card. Esty, eh, spade club card, taking care of Kevin. I try sneak by, wanna get new bandages but... U-Uh... mai trip.. P-Poor Umi."

Umi lets out an awkward wimper, her hand letting go of the IV to hum in a disgruntled manner, as if remembering the pain of faceplanting.  
"Amai speedy past, tears leaking. I attempt to get up, Boris walks by and smashes down biggggg hammer! Everybody shush. Barron runs. Need help to re-bandage, see Boris! He has a big protective smasher, so I tug on his sleeve, Erika enters throne-room now. Boris agrees to help, good boy! We go infirmary, where he holds IV as I replace bandages. Nalanie is wrapping her arm in bandages, and she tells us 'A body has been discovered in the Garden.'. Boris looks very stressy, and I wanna help."

Umi lets out a soft hum, pushing some hair from her face and shifting her gaze to Boris, a thankful grin on her face.
"Get up with Boris, Nalanie with us. He seems uptight, a little upset, so I cling! He seems much more relaxed, Umi is glad she could make him happer. Nalanie leaves us ayt living area, we keep going to Garden... When we arrive Boris suddenly frozes... I get concerned, and peep out... That's when I see it... A-Alice... In... In the bush... I can't... How... Whez... Why..."

Umi sniffles, rubbing at her face and lowering her head, shaking it softly.
"Alibi game! W-Who uncalled for during A2-3? Prime-insp... no, suspection! Nalanie? One-Nine? Carta..philly? ...Or even.. Alice?! Speech!"

For a good portion of the trial, One Nine had her head laying upon her arms on the table, too bothered by what had transpired to speak. Eventually, she decides to give what little testimony she has.

"...A kind soul took me to my bedroom, where I spent the duration of the night in safety. I heard Amai come and ask Dieu, my guard, whose room he was guarding, and then left to, I assume, the Throne Room. ((During 3)) Mhm, a bit of chaos occurred when Barron arrived, but thankfully no one was hurt there... ((5-6))

I found that a corkscrew opener was missing from the Kitchen, though I believe that is the sharp object Merurin took last night. I later had a brief discussion with Erbulhen, but that only confirmed already given testimony.

Mhm, I also figured that the weapon used to perform this heinous act is still present in the Garden. That's all I can divulge... It's not too helpful, I am sorry..."

"That leaves Cartaphilus and Nalanie or whatever their names are. Either one could be lying." Cosmi turned to Amai "Amai, may you restate your action 3 more specifically? This may help us figure out the culprit."

Amai smiled at cosmi... Still unsure what happened to her "umm... I did ask the guard something about which room he was guarding. But I saw Cart in the dorm check in... And walk to the male bathrooms"

Estinien quietly stares at the monitor showing Hardgore Alice's body stuck in the bush. He puts a hand on his hip in thought.
"I have been thinking about this..."beast bush". It must have taken an action to prepare, accounting for its size..."
Heart pulls out a white board from behind the throne and scribbles on it with pink marker.
"sOmEtHiNg tHaT UgLY?? in MY GARDEN???"

I doubt our killer would be that barbaric to do that instead of choosing another way to kill her, but I'll prove our dear culprit-san wasn't the one who did this... Directly, at least."

"My theory is the following: The bush is the murder weapon. I'm sure most of you have already figured this one out."
"As someone said, magic does not exist in this place, so the culprit must have done something to make that bush magical."
"And to make more clear what I'm hinting at: the culprit must have been in the garden to make the bush magical."

"So far, my theory is that the culprit went inside the garden, made that bush magical, and had the bush do the dirty work."
"Now I'll move to our suspects: the people who do not have an alibi from Action 2 to 4."
"As Umi-san pointed out, those people are Amai-san, Nalanie-san, One Nine-san, Cart-san, and Alice-san."

"I'll reduce the suspect list."
"Alice-san did not have time to do anything to that bush. Cart-san mentioned she was just looking around the garden in Action 1, and Barron-san said she was going to the warehouse before he pushed her to the floor like the gentleman he is in Action 2."
"This means that, as I said, Alice-san couldn't have done anything to that bush, so she is not the culprit."
"Suicide would be boring, anyway."
"This same thing applies to Amai-san. Since Cart-san didn't see her doing anything weird with a bush, she cannot be the culprit."

"Next is One Nine-san. The pervert Nalanie-san claims to have been in the garden from Action 2 to 4, and since she did not mention One Nine-san being there at any point, she cannot be the culprit."

"And we are getting close!!! Cart-san and Nalanie-san are left!!!"
"We've been discussing for a while who was the one who did this."

"I'll remove Nalanie-san from the suspect list. She entered the garden, yes, but she could have magified the bush, right?"

"Wrong."
"The bush was magified in A1, and I have proof for that, other than the growling Amai-san heard. I'll state the order of events for you to what evidence I refer to."
"In A1, Cart-san, Amai-san, and Alice-san were in the garden."
"In A2, Amai-san left the garden."
"In A2, Alice-san headed for the workhouse."
"In A2, Barron-san exited the workhouse, pushed Alice-san to a puddle of mud, ran to the exit, his armor being scratched by the bush on his way to the door, and then left the garden, meeting Nalanie-san in the hallway."
"In A2, Nalanie-san entered the garden."

"Now my question is... What kind of normal bush would scartch someone's armor?"
"A magical one, obviously. Nalanie-san wasn't in the garden A1, and in A2 she was in the hallway when this happened to Barron, so she couldn't have magified that bush."
"So therefore she is clear."

"What does this leave us with?"
"What is the answer, I wonder?"
"Who was the one who claimed to be somewhere they weren't seen?"
"That is correct."

"You are the culprit, Cartaphilus-san!"

Cart tilts his head back and starts laughing. Tears start forming at the corners of his eyes because he was laughing hard then he stopped and looked at everyone, still smiling and looking happy.

"I confess. Even though there was still a chance I could've won and let others die in my place, I find that my curiosity has dulled. On a different note, I ever so regretted killing my Chimera beast. He was precious, though I didn't want anyone else to notice him roaming the halls so I had no choice but to terminate him right after the kill."

He paused, took a sigh and continued speaking.

"It reminded me of a Chimera I made back home, from a dead girl's corpse, a bit more limbs from humans and a spider or two. Truly magnificent but that one was terminated as well."

"Back to the Kill, I originally planned on killing Amai, but Alice had to follow me and investigate the garden whilst I was there so I had to change my plan, so I did."

Cart walked up to Heart and bowed.

"Though I cannot say that I am sorry for what I have done, It was all out of curiosity, I am indeed waiting for what will happen as punishment. It is safe to say that, the punishment was what intrigued me the most."

He then looks at everyone else and smiles.

Camille just coldy stared in silence. No sympathy from her. Cart deserved to be punished. This was nothing but Karma.

"With the detective pointing at the culprit, and the culprit confessing."
"Classic mystery story, except for one of the mystery rules being broken."

"But, what can I say?"
"Just by the existence of that bush, this level of reasoning is possible for Furudo Erika."

"I see... Looks like my hunch was wrong. Im glad we exposed the correct person though." Cosmi shook her head, turning to Cartaphilus "Be glad I have enough composure to not swing you against the walls of this place and leave you to the isntant death of a gun."
