Game 72 Class Trial: Avenge the Law

[Vinny]

Once again, your eHandbooks vibrate and play a sound, displaying new messages on their screens.

"Time is up. Please drop off possessions unrelated to your talent in your rooms and head to the Entrance Hall, now."

You all feel uneasy as your investigation comes to a halt, but you follow the order and file into the Entrance Hall. On the back wall, next to the statue on the right, the previously locked metal door has been opened. You then all enter the Trial Room.

The room is large and circular, with 16 podiums arranged in a circle, though one of them is occupied with an electronic stand displaying Kris' face in black and white on a monitor, complete with the occasional static. You all approach your respective podiums, and find that each one is outfitted with an electronic screen that displays how the trial works, along with the program that allows you to vote.

Four screens, complete with speakers, descend from the ceiling and settle above the center of the podium circle, all in your sights... well, except for Light, because he can't see. Clearly, Sara and Logan are carrying their guitars, and Light still has his cane. The screen displays the words, "TRIAL START", and so it begins.

The Class Trial has now begun, so please discuss theories on who the Blackened is. If you haven't finished investigations and questions, feel free to complete those within the first 24 hours. The only items you have on you are the ones allowed from your skills if they specifically mention it. The trial will last until the poll ends.

[Sara Soul]

Sara quietly strummed on her guitar as a way to distract herself. She really didn't want to do this, but she knew she had to. With a soft sigh, she stops and looks at everyone.

"Well...I guess it's here...I was hoping it was a joke, but...I guess not..."

She looks down at her guitar again, then back at everyone.

"So, we should start with investigation results, right? I can go first. What I found at the crime scene was a metal picnic table which was close to the door, a trash bin next to the bench closest to the wall, a couch that was pushed against the wall, a foosball table in the center, and a tv hanging on the wall."

"There was a lot of blood all over the foosball table, as if it was sprayed there while someone was bent over and playing it. My theory is that someone was setting up for a game or already playing, as there was a ball already on the table. Leading to the picnic table, there were small splotches of blood on the ground. One of them was cut off, as if someone was dragged through it. That honestly leads me to believe that the body might have been dragged from it's original spot to where it is now."

"Alright, i guess we just say what we did? to prove our innocence? okay..."

Logan takes a breath before recalling what happened the night prior


"At the start of the night i headed to the kitchen to grab food and drink, while there i saw Yosei head to the pantry, Okuda head to the cabinets, and Yuko seemed to be looking around. So after getting all that stuff i headed to the music room, i brought food, food and drink, Gift brought blankets, Amelie was already in the room and Raiko brought herself. After getting settled i started playing my guitar, and we just chilled out for a bit, and little after katsuo entered the lights in that room went out, only a small amount of light spilled in as Sara finally arrived. Panicking in the dark and fearing the worst, i grabbed the immobile Gift who at the time was wrapped in a blanket burrito and made a run for the hallway, and for some reason, Amelie got mad and ran out. So i put Gift down and peeked back inside the music room, the lights were back on and, for some reason, Raiko slammed the door in my face! rude Then, Amelie slammed the door open and ran in WITH A KNIFE! Fortunately she didn't stab anyone, but she slammed the handle-end of the knife down on Raiko's head, i assume with the intent to harm her or knock her out, then Jason too entered the room. So, not wanting to get involved in whatever knife activity was happening in there, i left to check out a random room, the one that piqued my interest was the AV room, in there i saw Yuha, there were wires on the floor, monitors everywhere that only seemed to play discs."

He pauses for a moment. 

"As for my investigation, i checked the body of the victim, the only wound they had was a large gash across is neck, likely made by a sharp weapon. He was covered in a very large amount of blood around his neck and torso area and the back of his pants had some "debris" (dirt and dust) on the back of his pants... That's about all i could find."

Racheal glances at everyone, trying to see who is the killer.

"When I was looking the nurse's office, something was off... There is a shelf where a glass panel is left open... Most of the medications in the shelf did not belong there... There was vomit on the floor and there was an open bottle of pain killers and a medication "Ipecac"... Obviously someone must have taken ipecac and puked because the vomit was near the shelf..."

She stated as she tightens her scarf around her neck and mouth.

"Well then, since we're all sharing stories, I guess I might as well put in my two cents." The young storyteller would clear her throat, and do her best to project her voice so that the rest of her clasmates could hear her. "It's as Logan said. I did go to the pantry for a snack. Mainly some choolate pudding, which I immediately took back with me to my room. Thinking that someone was going to try and steal panties, I left my door slightly ajar to look and listen for anyone suspicious while enjoying it and reading a book, but sadly no one came. Afterwards, I decided to prep myself for a shower after hiding my own stock of panties, and on my way there, I saw Fujimori mysteriously leave the Girls' Quarters, and it seems I had my shower just after Rachael's."

She then sighs and rubs her arm, looking down and remembering the sights she had seen in her investigation. "Honestly, I was hoping to find the murder weapon in the Nurse's Office, given his method of death... however, I did find some interesting things. Apparently there was a pile of vomit with some painkillers in it next to an open bottle of painkillers, and a mysterious bottle on the ground labeled ipecac. Also, in a desk I can only presume to have been labeled "Chemical Disposal", I found four scalpels, two scissors, and three small flashlights. Of course, the medicine cabinet had been left open, so it was possible that something else is out there."

[Lee Yuha [Hansel]]

    Gazing at the center of the trial room, Yuha was finally resolute about disseminating what she had gleaned from investigating the Classroom and the Kitchen. She fumbled with the hem of her short skirt as the words began spilling out of her lips.

    "Nothing was really odd in the Classroom. Everything looked the same as I had seen it during the day when we went to explore the place. Although I noticed as I was checking the bins that a pair of scissors was missing. I don't know if it was employed in the execution of the murder though. This makes it highly plausible that anyone who had gone to the Classroom could've taken the scissors."

    "As for the Kitchen, well, since I hadn't visited it anytime during the day, the only thing I was able to discover there was that atop one counter, the knife rack was holding only two small knives, and its slots for two larger knives and one for another small knife were empty."

    "Now with regard to my activity during the night. After checking the Girls' Restroom, the whole night I was merely scouting inside the AV Room, checking the feed of various places. I'd seen Jason inside, too, but he left as soon as I entered and unnecessarily cussed at me. I was able to recognize that he was wearing a bulletproof vest underneath his shirt.

    "I'll withhold what I had found from watching some feeds until I feel the need to disclose it."

"Wait a moment," Yosei would suddenly glare over to the popstar. Seems she was intrigued by her report. "There were scissors in the trash can? I wonder if it could've come from the nurse's office... after all, I'm pretty sure in American schools they don't keep scissors in classrooms. And I did find scissors in that one desk."

Yuha hastily placed her palms onto her lips as she realized the misunderstanding she had evoked.

"Ah, well," Yuha rummaged for the girl's name in her mind. "Yosei. I didn't intend to mean trash cans. By bins, I meant containers for school materials. There is a missing pair of scissors that should've been int here. Sorry." Pursing her lips, Yuha lifted her eyebrows and her shoulders.

"I see. I apologize for the misunderstanding. Still, with several sharp objects missing, I can't help but feel uneasy. What could it all mean?

I can explain that.

While I was headed to the Nurse's Office, Rei and another person got into a fight, and the person who punched her said, "Blame the Kumaing! bitch, Rei!" and they ran off afterwards.

Once I was there, I saw Yuko take a bunch of pills out of the shelf and swallowed all of them at the same time. She was trying to overdose.

I chose to save her and got the ipecac syrup and made her swallow it. About 10 minutes later, she vomited all over the floor.

Amelie looked a bit less cheerful than usual. Maybe because someone died, but who knows.

"Uhm... I investigated the Store, but there was so much that I just ended up dizzy... Maybe I would've noticed something missing if I had checked it earlier... B-But that's okay, right? I tried my best!
Oh, I also checked the Laundry Room! Two baskets next to a dryer were empty, just like two open dryers. So, like, those were empty too!"

She looked down and appeared to hestitate, but then she closes her eyes and starts telling everyone her alibi.

"U-Uhm, last night, I stayed in the Auditorium for a while because I couldn't decide where to go! There's so much to see!
Once I decided, everyone except for Katsuo had already left...
So then, I went to the Music Hall! I wanted to draw my favorite band in my notebook heehee! ^u^ First, Gift and Logan entered and I was so happy so I started drawing them! And then Raiko came in too so I started drawing her too! It w-...
H-However... I realised I drew Raiko b-by accident... a-and it's not that I don't like her but she's just not part of the band and I panicked so I scratched through her drawn version and I started crying and I couldn't stay in the Music Hall any longer so I ran out and ran to the Girls Restroom to wipe my tears and... and...
I-I went to the Kitchen... and... grabbed a knife. On my way there, I saw Fujimori and Racheal.. When I reached f-for a knife, however, the two big ones were already g-gone, so I p-p-picked a smaller one..."

Amelie is almost bursting into tears at this point.

"A-And then, I ran into the Music Hall a-and attacked Raiko! B-But only w-with the handlepart!.. I could never actually stab someone!
I-I wanted to throw my knife onto the floor and r-run to the Break Room, but Katsuo, Sara and Raiko all t-t-tackled and restrained me and kept me from doing anything stupid... I-I-I'm so sorry! I shouldn't have done something s-so stupid!"

Amelie wipes her tears and blows her nose, before she hides her face behind her hands.

"There was something that seemed to be a bit off... During the Daily Life, I went to the kitchen and saw that a large knife was missing... I have a thought that the officer was playing Foosball when the killer came up and slit his throat with the missing knife..."

Yosei would sigh and place her hands on the podium, getting somewhat visually annoyed by the fangirl's constant stuttering. "So, you take responsibility for the smaller knife... and apparently one of the larger knives has been missing since before the sun set... hey Logan, do you think the gash in his neck was caused by any specific weapon?"

Her eyes fixed at ther podium, Yuha held her chin as she spoke. "According to the autopsy, the gash was likely caused by a sharp weapon. I honestly think it's one of the missing large knives in the kitchen. I don't think the wound would've bled that much if it was made only by a smaller one, like scissors or a smaller knife. We may need a more throrough study of the wound. Perhaps more of what it looked like." Yuha lifted her head up. "From her report," she pointed at Sara,"we could easily conclude that the victim was most likely playing with the equipment already. But that would mean he was playing with another person. Hmm. Well, let's just assume the victim was bent over the foosball, either playing with himself or setting up a game, as someone has implied. While he was doing his business, unbeknownst to him, someone snuck in the room and from behind, the person slit his throat with the sharp weapon which the blood to splatter all over the foosbal table.

"From this, we can form possibilities. Either he was all alone and the blackened jumped at this chance to eliminate him, or, least likely, the blackened was playing with the victim until they decided to go behind him and carry out their plan. I believe it's the former though. I think the victim was oblivious to the presence of the blackened."

[Sara Soul]

Sara blinked and looked around. She realized she had been spacing out again without knowing and had only snapped out of it when Yuha mentioned her name.

"Ah, I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks that's what happens." She smiles.

"Okay, I guess I should give my alibi, right?" She strummed her guitar for a moment, seeming lost in thought, then looked up.
"Okay, here's what happened."



"1 - I left to go get some party hats and a bag from the school store. I was bored, and I wanted to have a small party in the music hall. I went there in a large group. It was mostly broken off by the time I got to the school store. Someone left for the laundry room, and a portion of the group went to the kitchen, leaving Jason, Raiko, Rei and I in the store. I found a party section and collected the hats, along with my bag. Jason got a bullet proof vest, Raiko got some cigarettes not surprising while carrying a tub of popcorn and Rei was just looking around.

2 - After that, I put the hats in the bag then went to the kitchen to get something sweet for me to eat. I had left with Rei and on the way we had passed by Okuda and Yosei. Okuda was going the way I just came from and Yosei was going down the main hall. I had departed with Rei when I got to the kitchen. There, I got some chocolate which I also put in the bag. Racheal and Fujimori entered, then Light. Racheal went to the pantry to get chocolate as well and Fujimori was gathering ingredients to make a sandwich, which Light asked her to help make one.

3 - I left to go to the musical hall after that. In the distance, I heard someone running my way and Amelie passed by me, crying. I also passed Jason on my way to the music hall. When I got there, the lights were off and everyone in the room sounded panicked.

4/5/6 - I tried asking everyone what was wrong and why the lights were off as I looked for a light switch. Logan ran right past me, carrying gift, who was in a bundle of blankets. Raiko seemed to be trying to grab something in the dark, and Katsuo was walking up to me but suddenly stopped. I sadly couldn't find a light switch and I asked again what was going on. That's when the lights suddenly turned back on. Katsuo was standing around, obviously as confused as I was, then Raiko slammed on the door and yelled 'boo!', which honestly startled me a bit. The door then flung open and Amelie ran in with a small knife. She screamed a weak battle cry and hit Raiko on the head with the handle of the knife. Raiko had staggered, then covered her head with her arms so Amelie couldn't do anymore damage. Katsuo and I watched in horror, not sure what to do. Jason soon came in through the entrance. He left after a moment, yelling 'All you kumaing kumas are crazy. I'm out, hoes!' Because I didn't want things to escalate, I held Amelie back so she couldn't do anything but it seemed that she had dropped the knife and tried to leave. Katsuo tackled her and Raiko hugged her, which lead to squeezing the life out of her. Gift then entered, still wrapped up in the blankets."



"And that's what happened. It was...pretty crazy, to say the least."
