So, before anything else, here is the MAIN PAGE that is going to be the backing point of this entire system:
docs.google.com/document/d/1SUWawYYr7t8GjNszKYlLxBfqZ8BWguqz3KPa6EY5JDY/edit?usp=sharing
It'll be confusing, so I'll explain everything here.
Basically, we tried combining the two previously suggested systems, which were:
A. Get rid of proficiencies, add alibis, incorporate SHSL Talents into game
B. Keep Proficincies, add alibis, train/level up proficiencies.
So I had an idea. In my game previously, I had added something I hadn't originally planned. When making the SHSL Talent Skills for everyone, I decided it would be best if there were two sides to the Skill: One for investigating, and one for murdering. In the end it actually worked out pretty well, save for the fact some people had WAAAAAY better abilities than other people. If we combine that with the idea of "leveling up".... Then you get this system.
Basically, upon making an application, people will have this choice given to them:
Blackened: Bad / Average/ Good
Whitened: Bad / Average/ Good
Where blackened stands for murderer and whitened stands for the innocents. But what about that other part? Well, those are for the
Skill Trees
That we have planned for the game. What are these skill trees? Well, after you get your application accepted, an admin will PM you and work with you to create a SHSL Talent Skill Tree, depending on what you picked for your skill tree (the bad average good part).
When choosing the bad/ average/ good, you only have three type combinations for the two, that is:
Blackened/ Good Whitened/ Bad
Blackened/ Average Whitened/ Average
Blackened/ Bad Whitened/ Good
So from this point I will be using examples to explain the system:
Aqua has just applied on DRG. For the Blackened, he chose Bad. For the Whitened, he chose Good. An admin soons accepts his application and proceeds to PM him to work together to figure out his SHSL Talent Skill Tree. Eventually they reach this conclusion:
For his Blackened Side Skill Tree:
Level 1. If you are in a room, you will be able to tell if someone else is in the room only if they aren't invisible or hiding. (Notice how this is a 'bad' ability).
Level 2. If you are in a room, you will be able to tell if someone else is in the room only if they aren't invisible or hiding far from you.
Level 3. If you are in a room, you will be able to tell if someone else is in the room only if they aren't invisible or hiding average distance from you.
Level 4. If you are in a room, you will be able to tell if someone else is in the room only if they aren't invisible far from you.
Level 5. If you are in a room, you will be able to tell if someone else is in the room.
For his Whitened Skill Tree:
Level 1. If you find two pieces of evidence that are interconnected in someway, you will instantly invision the scenario on how those two pieces of evidence were interconnected. (Note: This is a pretty good ability, so it can't really be leveled anymore, meaning he will start out the game with this ability).
If Aqua had picked average for both his abilities, they both would have been pretty well rounded, but not on the level of 'good' but he would have the ability to level them both up throughout the game and possibly make them both on the level of 'good' (So average allows more possibilites for murdering AND investigatiing, while choosing bad or good makes it so that you are only good at one thing). The purpose of this is to allow some people to be able to have good murdering skills early in the game possibly encrouaging people to not wait to level up to start murdering.
Aqua gets his Skill Trees accepted. He enters his first game using this system. During the night, he decides to go prank someone by smacking them in the face with a pie, then running away. The host deems this as an "important action" (any action that can lead to potentially making a murder case more complicated) and levels Aqua up. From here Aqua gets a point to decide what to put it into. Since Blackened Skill Line is all he can level up, he does that.
The next day Aqua uses his expert investigation skills to find the murder. Upon getting a successful trial, the host levels EVERYONE up, including Aqua, as a successful trial is considered an "important action" for everyone.
Everyone have a good idea of how this system works? If you have any questions please ask. I know it is complicated. Also, I will be updating this thread with more rules (just other aspects of the game besides this) as we get closer to the update date i have listed on the site schedule. I hope everyone is happy with this system
