"hmm, well, i went to get a burger and this happened..."
Upon arriving at MacDespair's, you start by circling the building and trying to find any hints towards the recent case. No part of the building has been damaged, strangely, so you circle around to the back, and take a look in the dumpsters. There's very little in each of the two back here, one contains two trashbags, and the other contains a third. After a quick look in each, you find nothing but trash from the restaraunt itself, so you walk back, but suddenly, you hear footsteps. Before you can react, you feel your feet lift off of the ground, and a grasp around your neck, as you're forced against the wall behind you, dazed and confused. After regaining your senses, you see a rather large man in a dark cloak, but you can't tell anything else about them.
"Look who's here. Just gonna try to take things into your own hands, huh?"
A large, meaty laugh comes from the man, before he speaks again.
"You're pathetic. You should know by now that you can't change anything. But this is rather amusing, so I guess I'll let you live for now. Just don't get in our way, and there will be no problems, yeah?"
With that, you feel yourself falling, and the man walks off. After taking a short time to catch your breath, you walk into MacDespair's, to find that the inside has had little business and very little to do. The clerk seems rather bored, so you talk to them, but they immediately give off a generic greeting.
"Welcome to MacDespair's, home of the Despair Burger, how may I take your order?"
You ask him about the murder, to which he responds.
"Oh, yeah. I heard something about that, the police came in a few minutes earlier than you did. They just said that someone was killed down at the Apartments, but that they couldn't say anything else. Looks like they were telling everyone about it so we didn't get too surprised."
With that, he says just one more thing.
"Nobody's seen anything in the area, so I can't help you too much. But while you're here, why not try a burger?"
With that, you order a Double Despair Burger, fully loaded, with cheese and ketchup instead of mustard. It'll take a bit, but you figure you can take the time to ask some questions if you can come up with any more.
