So, recently, we had a discussion in-trial relevant to the height of the killer...and while it was handled, it left me wondering why basic personal details aren't shared. Mostly things that would appear in DR's e-Handbook. So, I was wondering about the following:
What if we had a longer application? No new system, no overhaul, nothing overwhelming. Just a list of details such as Height, Weight, Likes, Dislikes...to define our characters. For example:
- Name
- SHSL
- Gender
- Height
- Weight
- Handedness
- Casual Clothing
- Likes
- Dislikes
- Ability
- Proficiencies
- Personality/Notes
It would imply an extra-minute of work when making an application, but it brings things to the table. Such as giving hosts more potential ways of giving out evidence, more ways to frame others and catch the Blackened (instead of just weapon proficiencies over and over) and a more fleshed-out mystery game.
Right now, characters are missing diversity. They're just defined by a set of 5 parameters, and people end up having the same characters, only with a different name and SHSL. In short, people like customization, so that's also a plus.
The list provided isn't a final version, elements can be added or removed.
Of course, all apps are still required to be approved to be used in-game.
[What Personality/Notes can contain is up for discussion. On one hand, it's purely aesthetic, on the other, it could be used to define character quirks, which could possibly affect the trial...such as a character that always likes being barefoot, or a fear of darkness, or being prone to asthma attacks, or whatever. Presumably, they'll be judged accordingly when the app is being evaluated.]
