Game 103A: Memory Shards.
Hosted by Magnus.
Museum of Novelties
Where the lines are blurred between past, present and future.
A division of M. Studios
As philosopher George Santayana said, “those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it”. Every time you turn back the pages of your favourite novel, even knowing what lies ahead, the characters you love so dearly will play the same games, fight the same battles, bear the same sins and die the same way. Real life isn’t so different.
Welcome to the Museum of Novelties, where history is remembered forever. Take up the mantle and visit us today, for your decisions can influence anything between time immemorial, and the distant future. Or take your leave, and be doomed to forget. Ignorance is bliss, or so they say.

Welcome to Game 103A: "Memory Shards", where nothing is as it seems. While exploring the Museum of Novelties, your decisions will help fill the rooms with creative exhibitions depicting past, future or fictional events. Decisions such as… who crosses the line, who gets away with murder, who lives and who dies… these decisions can influence the game’s timeline in minor and major ways, and can’t be forgotten so easily without retribution; as per the butterfly effect, in which a small change can leave a large impact, and the theme of corrective action, of setting right what once went wrong.
Alongside the standard DRG format, this game seeks to incorporate elements from a few other past games of mine.
At the beginning of the game, any number of players may apply to be selected as the Charlatan. Their objective is to maintain the integrity of the mystery, through any means they wish. Only players who apply may become a Charlatan; the existence of a Charlatan is not guaranteed, nor the existence of only one, and if there are numerous Charlatans, they will not be made aware of each other.
(Last time I ran a game with a similar turncoat mechanic, 1/3rd of the playerlist applied. Therefore, I’ll enforce a Charlatan cap if too many players apply this time. The more interesting your character is, the more likely it is you’ll get it.)

Ask any weighing questions to the Host directly, because I’m sure I missed stuff. Open-ended questions like "does magic exist?" will probably be answered with a "yeah, that’s implied by the synopsis", but more specific questions will receive more specific answers.
(Disclaimer: Game 103A, despite the title, is unrelated to any preexisting fictional universes of my design.)
