Game 101 - Trial 1: The After Party

Your investigations done, you all return to the Throne Room to find a peculiar arrangement of podiums set up in a circle, with the Throne at the "head" of this setup. Princess Shroob nonchalantly struts over and sits, motioning for a wine glass, which a shroob quickly brings to her. She takes a sip and laughs, leaning back with her legs over the side of the Throne.

"A murder really ruins the party atmosphere doesn't it? Well since this happened because I, your benevolent Princess Shroob bequeathed upon you a party, you should be the ones to solve it no?

Murder is a capital punishment in this Kingdom, and if you can't find a satisfying explanation for this murder well...I'll have to come up with my own explanation. And my own guilty party of course.

So what will it be my subjects? Sacrifice one for the many or doom the many to be sacrificed for one?"

Princess Shroob pressed a few buttons and a holographic sign blinks to life on the wall behind her. It states:

Q1. What caused Shy Guy to die?

Q2. What specifically is his official "cause of death"?
Q3. Why was Shy Guy targeted?
Q4. When did Shy Guy begin to die?
Q5. Why were the orders swapped?
Q6. Who is the killer?

Q7: What is the Red Syrup?
Q8: How did some people not die?
Q9: Who was the intended target and why?
Q10: What was/were the poisoned meal(s), and what was/were the poisoned ingredient(s)?

AKA You'll unlock it when you're on the right track and asking the right questions/theories. Probably in the last 24 hours or something.

You have 48 hours with a 24 hour extension upon request. When the trial is up you will need to post your answers, after which you will be judged on accuracy. More details means more points!

(He thought for a moment.) 

"the killer would be a waiter or a chef... unless it was whoever got the mushrooms..."

(He just loses his train of thought for a moment.)

"OH and also the red wine wasn't in a bottle it was more homemade... Idk I was looking for shrimp."

"I... I have failed as a king!" Boo proclaims. "I was likely the last to see him before the dinner and he agreed to serve under me. We were even going to give him a name, pay his way through college... I am sure he died during the kitchen meal but something odd during the night struck me while we were talking. He was cooking a mushroom stew but the smell of plastic and bleach was there during that time as well. I am curious to know if someone found something like that in the storage. Also I ordered the garlic pull apart bread but got the mushroom dish... a meal Shy Guy wanted to share with me... I shall avenge my minion!"

Marisa looked totally out of it, for once not actually being on her broom, but rather holding onto a barrier, as to prevent herself from falling over.

She thinks for a moment, before saying

She tries to smack herself on the cheeks, in attempts to stay focused, but one hand misses, and the other hits her ear

"OW! Eeto, if I remember, that mousey shopkeeper said that some s- susp- sus- suspicious individual bought a few rolls of plastic, a map, a steak, a mini mushroom, oH but one of those! Some lockpicks, some regular mushrooms, whatever THAT distinction is, and a tub of bleach!"

Marisa seems to be beeming, trying not to laugh over the word 'suspicious'

"I'm so smart ze! Look at me-"

"Yes. In Monty Mole's home. He was cooking some. Offered me some but I refused at the time. This was during the fourth... hour? We spent some time talking then I went to go look for the gift from my other minion--a cool statue of some penguin buddha guy that Squeaks got for me!"

"Actually most of what the drunk witch mentioned ended up there. The mushroom stew was still cooking. There was a knife that was bloody but... it was just steak blood. The most interesting note is that there was bleach on the floor. Well notthat, but my brilliant charisma had Shy Guy explain that he was cleaning up a mess when he arrived so I suspect he used at least some of the bleach. But it was also mixing with plastic, dissolving it and making the whole home reek.

"But that's also an important note. This suspicious person the witch mentions. Squeaks, my minion, and I were at the trading post our first action. We only took the statue and left. Then I was at Monty Moles home since the third action. So if theres anything suspicious there the individual had to arrive there before me. And... Shy Guy was there even sooner than I. Timing wise this is very interesting, but I missed a lot during the second action as... well..." King Boo covers his eyes and vanishes for a moment out of nervousness.

"Lockpicks?" Shenhe chimes in.

"I recall accompanying Shy Guy to the Mousey Trading Post during action 2. Which means he must be the 'suspicious individual'. He bought multiple items and kept them inside a large bag." Shenhe taps her head. "I wasn't sure what it contained. Though I caught him buying lockpicks among those items."

"Also in the same action, I noticed King Boo and Squeaks chasing each other with a statue on hand, this was on the Vine Bridge.

"Hold on, I know Shy Guy wasn't there before you." She announces.

"I was with Shy Guy until we parted ways in the third action. In the first action, he arrived from the south to the Paratroopa Delivery Outpost. He scribbled a letter there, however, I was unaware if he had sent it."

"At action 2 we left the outpost, and that was when we found you and Squeaks crossing the bridge. It's also when Shy Guy bought the items at the trading post, the last time I saw him."

"After buying my soup, I followed Shy Guy over to the Cactus Grove in action 3. When I arrived, I couldn't find him anywhere." Shenhe sighs. "I rested and took in the view, that's when I noticed the door was unlocked. Colin still had the key around his neck, which lead me to believe that Shy Guy unlocked it himself, using lockpicks."

Shenhe rests her fist on her hip. "Therefore, Shy Guy couldn't have made to Monty Mole Home before you."

He either thinks Shy Guy is now dead or was with me but does not think Shy Guy was killed (or at least stabbed)

A0: He was in Princess Peaches room. He saw Dead King there too (I think that's skull and crown)
A1: He took a nap (what is he Syalis?)
A2: He woke up, saw dead king. Thought about looking for Princess Peach and went to the Shroob Shop. Here he saw Frank the Hammer Bro and Princess Syalis. He heard and explosion coming from the throne room.
A3: He goes to the throne room. He sees Byakuya and... (Kokichi?) fighting. He sees princess shroob there coming his way and is surprised it'sn ot princess peach!
A4: He runs away to the storage. On the way, specifically in courtroom A, he sees (alien man? Prince Peasley?) He hears crying in the storage room. Thinking it might be Princess Peach he heads over there and sees... E.Gadd? E.Gadd is crying? (Green repair man)
A5: He is happy to see E.Gadd and gives him a hug, calming down his crying. He then sees a door there that seems to not open (or is not an escape room? No idea who ninja devil is--but he thinks they may be able to repair it or he thinks they broke it. (He's not sure when, sometime between A0 and A3)
A6: Joined us for the party. He ate the garlic pull apart bread, (masa quesadillas?), the nigiri, the coconut balls, the red wine, then Shy Guy was dead.

He investigated the Storage! He found things about the door.
(I honestly do not understand this segment with the lightbulb, 2 actions, and not seeing whoever ninja devil is)

A happer, a flaming wrench, a tape, and a chemical were taken. There is also a pout with water and a red liquid (blood?)

Things I'm not sure about: What E. Gadd says, what Repairman+green is, what ninja+devil is, what student+devil is. I'm reasonably sure about the rest (Based on Kokichi's statement though I think student devil is kokichi)

"It is distinctly possible my excellent (late) minion snuck in while I was having some fun with Monty Mole and Prince Peasley at the start of the fourth action, but he was definitely INSIDE the house before I was, already at the meal that had been cooking. But that just doesn't make sense with the fact he's likely the one to purchase the materials. The bleach and plastic smell was already there, the steak was already cut, and the soup was practically done. That's a lot to do in a short amount of time."

"Also! How dare you not mention your grave sin during the second action. I distinctly remember you staring at me at that time. I fled in terror of the destruction you may cause with those eyes of yours! I had hoped Squeaks--my excellent bombing minion--would have escaped with me but I lost track of him in the dangerous situation!"
