Henri listened quietly to the Bard's latest tune - this one a tale of two adventurers. Friends-turned-enemies destined to save the world. She'd always loved stories like that. Heck, it wasn't too long ago that Henri herself had sought to change the course of history. She wasn't exactly strong and would likely be useless at dragon-slaying. But it hadn't been so long ago that she had been studying medicine in the name of furthering mankind. And where had that gotten her... she rolled her gum around behind her teeth. Well... in the end she supposed it had gotten her here. And here was where she would have to make the best of things.
"Your words before were kind and I should thank you for them. I... honestly pray for her peaceful rest as well, though I long to see her, which guides my dreams of a place to witness ghosts, I suppose. Life can be lonely without someone by your side. Thus, your presence is a welcome one."
Loneliness... that was a complicated feeling when it came to Henri. On one hand, she knew all too well that she was never truely alone. On the other, there were very few people she could consider her friends. Getting close to others was dangerous for someone like her, and those who dared to approach would often see that danger firsthand. But this time was going to be different... it had to be. She'd made plenty of countermeasures, and hadn't felt the urge to use that other invention in days. Now that she had come here, she was determined to just be a normal girl.
"I'm not sure I like the idea of ghosts," she confided. In fact, the specters of the past coming to haunt her was a common theme in her nightmares. "I'd rather think that those who have left us are waiting for us somewhere nicer, you know? I'm sure she misses you too, but well... I hope she's happy. If that makes sense." Henri realized that sounded a bit presumptuous and quickly shut her mouth. "S-sorry... I'm not always the best at putting things into words. I guess you don't have that problem, huh? Words seem to come very naturally to you."
